GracieGracie was a hyper little thing. My next door neighbor found her on her porch and thought she looked like my cat Frosty, that it must be Frosty’s baby. We could not help it and took her in. She had a problem with her walking, which is probably why she was on our neighbor’s front porch.

This beautiful little baby looks like one of those kitties that sees the invisible space
ships flying around that us bipeds can’t see. She’s pretty but she looks a bit crazed.

Those “crazy” blue eyes are just her kitten eyes. When they are so young, they cannot focus very well and it gives them that “Marty Feldman” look (eyes looking in different direction). I have seen it often in my kittens, but they always end up looking (no pun intended) normal.
Her hyperness has probably been caused by her being lost from her mother and littermates and having to fend for herself. Kittens need to be socialized by momcat and littermates and then by her human family. She is beautiful and will make a great indoor pet. She is lucky to have landed on your porch! Bless you for adopting her!

Thanks for mentioning that about the “kitten eyes” — I’ve noticed that often in pictures of young kittens and wondered if they had vision problems. I adopted my tortie cat at 8 weeks and her eyes were already focused, but they went through about a million beautiful colors before settling on “lima bean green.”

Gracie does look feisty and adorable, I wouldn’t have been able to resist, either!

Hi, everyone! I got a laugh out of this!
    *A Cat Speaks Up*
Now here this! You may live in this dwelling with me, but keep in mind your sole purpose for existing is to care for me. I pray God keeps you able to do so.
Feed me well and promptly, so that I may find a quiet place to lie down and stare at you. If that place happens to be on top of the television set, do not keep trying to dislodge me even though my tail is hanging in the middle of the picture.
I expect full run of the premises, including the kitchen table. I sniff your food only to see if I prefer it to mine. Brush me twice a week. Pet me as often as you wish, but I can do without the idiotic statements you utter as you do so.
When I bump my head against your leg or cheek, it means I accept you as part of my environment. Keep in mind that if I thought the lady next door would feed me better, I’d be out of here in a minute. If you’re looking for loyalty, get a dog.

How is her walking now - better, I sincerely hope? We had a cat a long time ago - very much older - who had very bad rhuematics. She had a very difficult time walking, and I tell you, there is nothing more heart-breaking to see.
    That being said,
    GOOD NIGHT GRACIE FUZZ

This is a very interesting article—–and the website is ADORABLE!
*Cats to compete in reality TV show in New York*
    By Sarah Coffey
Tue Jun 13, 10:04 AM ET
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Ten cats in search of owners will spend the next 10 days in a New York store window, their every move caught on camera for a reality TV show on which they will compete for best sleeper and mouse-catcher.
The show is the creation of a petfood company and will be shown on cable channel Animal Planet, as well as on the Web site http://www.MeowMixHouse.com where viewers will be asked to vote off one feline contestant each day.
The cats, chosen from shelters around the country, will compete for loudest purr, most prolific sleeper and who can catch the most toy mice. Kitties who get the boot will be adopted into permanent homes.
Meow Mix, owned by Del Monte Foods Company, hopes the show will promote cat adoption — as well as their products, which will be the only thing on the menu.
Passerby taking a gander though a specially rented storefront on Madison Avenue in midtown Manhattan can watch the cats lazing about a luxuriously outfitted cat-sized house that includes scaled-down sofas, beds, a fish tank (with fake fish), kitchen and a porch, all put together by an interior designer.
“It’s a Disney World for cats,” said Meow Mix’s Ryan Reed, in charge of ensuring the cats are well-cared for and well-behaved. Volunteers from The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals are also on hand to attend to the needs of the kitty stars.
Enjoying their final day of obscurity on Monday, the cats seemed unfazed by attention from visiting media — most of the cats were asleep on the set, which will be unveiled to the public on Tuesday.
A cat named Sam, from Dallas, Texas, stood guard on the home’s welcome mat while Romeo, a Los Angeles native, lazily stretched out his six-toed paws before swatting a toy.
In the tradition of reality shows, the company will hire the top cat as “Feline Vice President of Research and Development,” responsible for taste testing and product feedback.
Biographies of the cats play up their personalities, but in reality, they’re all pretty mellow, if not a bit dazed from all the attention.
“In real life they’re all very sweet,” said Meow Mix’s Keith Fernbach. “But we try to give them a personality for TV.”

Other than those wide eyes, the kitten reminds me of one of my cats, a fiesty calico named Little Bit. Such a cute little fuzzball. I hope she starts to have a better time walking.

Gracie has those wonderful crazy kitten eyes! They go along with having the ability to have a daft turn at any given moment.
We have brother & sister kitties, just 2 yrs. now, who still tear about and have those crazy, demented eyes sometimes.

Gracie is a very pretty girl…love her colouring.
I hope she is OK with the walking.

I hope pretty Gracie gets well soon and is able to walk and run all over the place. FYI, not all calico kitties are bossy or getting into some kind of mischief. My Murphy is pretty laid back and doesn’t cause any trouble (my other cat likes to start up with her in play, but it usually ends up with howls and a nip at the neck). All in good fun!
