My neighbor volunteers (bless her heart) with our Humane Society fostering kittens that are still too small to be adopted. I offered to babysit her current brood one day when she had six gray and white kittens from a litter and one extra abandoned orange boy. After two laughter-filled days with the little guys, there was one that I could not give back. Once he was big enough, he officially become our forth furry adoptee. His name is Goober and because he attached to me at such a young age, he still retains his cuddly behavior and truly sees me as his mother. His little tail has become an the envy of all who see him, 14 inches of long orange silky fur. He is the joy of my life and I thank the Humane Society for all their hard good work.

He is the cutest Goober I have ever seen. He is also so very lucky to have a Mom like you.
God bless all the Humane Societies.
Goober is adorable with his little leg behind his ear! Last night we started to teach Christopher some English words. This morning he suprised us by saying “Goo morn.” He was trying to say good morning. Caitlyn hasn’t started learning yet, but we might start tomorrow. We’re going to the 10th annual family BBQ. Caitlyn is going to wear a brand new blue dress that has white stars, with a red sweater. Christopher is going to wear a red shirt with stars, and blue overalls. They look so patriotic!
It sounds like your new family is off to a great start! Please send photos of the children, I would love to see them! debrastaylor@earthlink.net
I’m so happy for you & your wife. Blessings & a safe Fourth to you & your family!
I’d love pictures too. I’ve been following your great story! kch917@sbcglobal.net

To all my fellow American posters, Please keep your pets inside today … They’ll be safer from the noise and ruckus.
I wanna tickle those cute little feets!
Oh wow, I’m still recovering from the overwhelming cuteness of the last two photos, and now this! He’s so teeny, and he looks so full of beans! Adorable.
Aww!! I love kitten’s tails!! Adorable!
Here is an interesting article i found at http://www.catchannel.com:
Bobcats Take Over Backyard
Mother and three kittens discovered living under pool deck.
A family of Bobcats is expected to be released back into the wild within the next two weeks after being discovered living in the backyard of a Plano, Texas home.
The feline family, including a mother and her three cubs, lived underneath the pool deck at Plano resident Priya Singhvi’s home for about the past month.
The mother and her kittens have been picked up by Plano animal services and are expected to be released back into the wild by mid-July.
Texas animal experts have said that new residential growth in the area forces wildlife into residential areas.
There weren’t enough local natural resources for the mother cat to raise her young in, so she picked what was available, said Cliff Moore, a wildlife specialist for Animal Services, Inc.
What a handsome ginger boy. He’s got those wonderful “kitten eyes ” on.
I love his big rabbit foot sticking up there!
I. too, would find it hard to give up such a love cat.
cutest one yet!
Ummm, kitty porn…..I see Goobers bottom! No really, he is very cute.
What an adorable li’l guy.

He’s *gooberlicious*!
OMG…Goober looks just like my “little” Punky Fuzzy Butt! Only my Punky is a year old and weighs about 12 lbs. He too has a big plummy tail and big topaz eyes. He was taken in at 3 weeks when his mama abandoned him. He’s very dog-like; he likes to play Fetch and follows me from room to room and lay in the bathoom sink and bathtub.
Adorable ginger fuzz. I’m also owned by one, 9 months old Alfie who has a foot long silky striped tail! He is my baby. I have 3 kitties all loved to death but there something extra special about my ginger baby……
AWwWwWwWwWwW……!!!
Wat a cute lil kitty!!
XXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOO!
Orange & white fuzz! He is so cute! Goober is such a cute name; I wish I could get original with names. I have Spookie, Pip Squeak (Pippie), and Tigger. I’m sure the Goob will bring you much happiness.
Adorable Fiesty little ball of fuzz! How much fun this one is going to be! When my cat was younger she took to me as a “mother” figure and still does. She is a long hair and I still have problems brushing her. Someone told me to place the brush with her things so that she gets used to it, but she just bats it away. And when I try to brush her, she meows, hisses, and tries to bat it out of my hands! She goes for the brush, never my hand! I’ve tried several types of brushes to see if she’d respond better to any of them. A neighbor told me to try a comb, but it wouldn’t go through her fur. Any suggestions?
We had the same problem and solved it with a bit of work. Our Carmel had been abused by a previous owner and did not like to be touched much less brushed. We started by catching her relaxing, walking up and brushing her with one stroke only and before she could hit the brush put it up and give her a piece of dry cat food. Several hours or a day later one stroke and food again. Once she associated the brush with food, (about a week) we would move up to 3 strokes. Just keep increasing the time you brush her. Meanwhile if Carmel got a mat we would just cut it out rather than fight her to comb it out. It still isn’t her favorite thing but now she lets us brush her for about 3 minutes at a time.
Good luck
Thanks Beth, I’ll try that, never thought to pair it with food or maybe a treat. That’s a great idea!
Looks like my Socks when he was a kitten- he is now large & in charge. I am having a good day! T
Extra fuzz and extra paw pad action going on here.
GOOBER PLENTY FUZZ
SUCH a cute little ‘pocketwah!’
May the Lord bless you always for taking in Goober, and bless Goober, too.

*Pull my finger FUZZ*
omg he is just tooooooo cute! seriously.
Goober looks like he has a lot of energy and very playful. So glad he bonded with you so well and that you decided to make him a part of your family. I bet when he walks and his long tail goes straight up, it looks like a flagpole. Think he’ll let you tie a handkerchief “flag” on it? Now that would be a good picture!
Oh, I do love that little guy. I guess he looks a Magnificent Meaow now, with that tail
And those lovely white toetsies on the front paws!! *in love*
