TommyThis is Tommy… he is a foster from the local animal shelter and has survived many, many things. He has been such a joy to be around, and I hope he has a great life with his new family.

    Kitten,
    you have big sharp ears.

You can hear the stirring of small creatures
    in their burrows deep underground,

you can hear the cadenced footfalls of
    marching ants,

and the whispers of clouds, and raindrops
that have yet to hit the ground.

    Curled on my chest,
surely you can hear my heart.

Can you hear my heart, kitten?
Can you hear how much I love you?

I had a Tommy that was a tiger too! But my Tommy came to me when he was all grown up, so I never got to see him as a cute adorable kitten like this Tommy. My Tommy crossed the Rainbow Bridge about a year ago. Blessings to this new little Tommy!

I love you see people adopt shelter kitties…all they ask for is love and give back ten fold. Give him a big hug from a Mom of two shelter kitties.

    This is really funny….

    *Hamlet’s Cat’s Soliloquy*

To go outside, and there perchance to stay
Or to remain within; that is the question:

Whether ’tis better for a cat to suffer
The cuffs and buffets of inclement weather
That Nature rains on those who roam abroad,
Or take a nap upon a scrap of carpet,
And so by dozing melt the solid hours
That clog the clock’s bright gears with sullen time
    And stall the dinner bell.

    To sit, to stare outdoors,
And by a stare to seem to state
A wish to venture forth without delay,
Then when the portal’s opened up,
To stand as if transfixed by doubt.
    To prowl; to sleep;
To choose not knowing when we may once more
    Our readmittance gain:
    Aye, there’s the hairball;

For if a paw were shaped to turn a knob,
Or work a lock or slip a window-catch,
And going out and coming in were made
As simple as the breaking of a bowl,
What cat would bear the household’s petty plagues,
    The cook’s well-practiced kicks, the butler’s broom,
The infant’s careless pokes, the tickled ears,
    The trampled tail,
And all the daily shocks that fur is heir to,
When, of his own free will,
He might his exodus or entrance make
    With a mere mitten?

    Who would spaniels fear,
Or strays trespassing from a neighbor’s yard,
But that the dread of our unheeded cries
And scratches at a barricaded door
No claw can open up, dispels our nerve
And makes us rather bear our humans’ faults
Than run away to unguessed miseries?

    Thus caution doth make house cats of us all;
And thus the bristling hair of resolution
Is softened up with the pale brush of thought,
And since our choices hinge on weighty things,
We pause upon the threshold of decision.

    –Shakespaw

Tommy was adopted the other day; oddly by another family that fosters kitties. This one was exceptionally hard for me to give up. He adopted me when my wife and daughter brought him home. His “place to be” was on my chest, usually nuzzling me under the chin to get some petting.

He was also known as the demon cat. He was so ferocious when he played. And he looked exceptionally evil while facing down cats ten times his size.

    A very lovable fellow.

    Dee,
That’s abhorrent and I had not heard about it on the main news. I lived in HK and China for many years before returning to the states and had to get use to the many “pets” that were eaten. But this is simply intolerable!!

    This is kind of cute….

*How Many Cats Does It Take to Screw in a Light Bulb?*

Persian: “Light bulb? What light bulb?”

Somali: “The sun is shining, the day is young, we’ve got our whole lives ahead of us, and you’re worrying about a burned out light bulb?”

Norwegian Forest Cat: “Just one. And I’ll replace any wiring that’s not up to date, too.”

Cornish Rex: “Hey Guys, I’ve found the switch.”

Sphynx: “Turn it back on again, I’m cold.”

Singapura: “I’ll just blow in the other cat’s ear and he’ll do it.”

    Siamese: “Make me!”

Birman: “Puh-leeez, dahling. I have servants for that kind of thing.”

Maine Coon: “Oh, me, me! Pleeeeeeaze let me change the light bulb! Can I, huh? Can I? Huh? Huh? Can I?”

Exotic: “Let the other cat do it. You can feed me while he’s busy.”

Manx: “Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark.”

Russian Blue: “While it’s dark, I’m going to sleep on the couch.”

Korat: “Korats are not afraid of the dark.”

British shorthair: “Light bulb? Light bulb? That thing I ate was a light bulb?”

Turkish Angora: “You need light to see?”

American Shorthair: “None, catnap time is too precious to waste!”
