Sir Percival Smoothly Smooth

PercyThis is Percy when he was about ten weeks old. He was an anniversary present to fill in for Welly who passed away due to kidney failure. He’ll probably outlive the marriage! He’s perhaps the laziest, grubbiest and cutest kitty ever!

My 13-year-old cat, Percy Ross DuKhat, is named for Percy Ross, the late millionaire from Minnesota who gave away his money in a newspaper column called “Thanks a Million.” My kitty is a tuxedo cat, so I always said he looks like a million bucks!

This kitty’s lovely! Does anyone know how often a newborn kitten should nurse? My mom is trying to feed a kitten because the mother, for some reason, has no maternal instinct. The other 4 kittens died. :’( But anyway, she’s been feeding the last kitten about every 2 hours. Does anyone know if that’s right?

Keep the kitten warm and feeding every two hours is good.
Feed kitty KMR or Just Born Kitten formula ..
Soon after kitty is done nursing “potty” her by rubbing a warm cotton ball on her bum…
Check out Dee’s link and google nursing kittens for more info.
It’s hard and rewarding work!

That cute kitty has some serious fluff going on there…..
He makes me think of what my Mr. Quigley may have looked like as a kitten–he was a rescue in April 1998, he was about 2 years old at the time–he’s a great kitty. I have two other “kids”. Roisin (Irish Gaelic for Rose)came home in Nov. 1998 as an 11 week old kitten. Ian was a stray, age unknown, found through a shelter in Nov. 1999. The three of them purr, get belly rubs, live quite well and generally run the show. They’re indoor cats and are spared the New England winters.

What an adorable face! Sir Percy fits the kitten too! So regal. I had a Percy too once and he was a big black fluff ball. He lived to be 14. Make sure you keep Sir Percy brushed and he will be gorgeous. With that long fur, he’ll need it once a day. My babes love their brushing. They sit by the counter where the brush ie and wait till I get it down to brush them!
Sorry about your loss, but Sir Percy will help you through the rough times I’m sure. He’ll return your love 100 times over.
