LuckyMommy rescued me at two weeks old after someone placed me in the middle of the street right before school was let out. She has bottle fed me, nursed me and even taught me how to use the litter box! I love her very much.

I just can’t comprehend how people can do something like abandon a tiny kitten to a street! Grrrr. But this little thing is so cute. She will return your love many times over.

Just look at the little roly-poly tummy!

I do not understand the cold hearted cruelty of some people. There are many options to choose from if you don’t want the animal you have.

Thank goodness you found the kitten and took it in. You’ll receive many years of love and gratitude from him or her.

I feel sad when people abandon kittens, my wee baby was left on a building site in a set of drawers, only found when a builder removed the drawers before the cabinet was smashed up!!! how cruel people can be.

anyway… happier note… cute blonde fuzz

Photographed just seconds after he (she) took down the wily Ty Beanie Baby, the mighty hunter stands triumphently over the Beanie Baby and lets out a mighty roar. Tonight, the pride will feast well. Such is the circle of life.

    ;-)

What a cutie! I have never been able to understand why people don’t just drop off unwanted animals at no-kill shelters, so they can be adopted and cared for by someone who truly loves them.

I hope Lucky brings you much joy (and luck!) in the coming years.

It is heart-breaking to realize how many people abuse/neglect/abandon their animals. Just last night, the evening news showed another abused dog—a pit bull puppy whose collar had embedded into his skin as he grew and needed surgery to have it removed. His skin was also coming off in sheets due to mange and severe tick and flea allergies—and he was emaciated. The owner was arrested—thank GOD! The dog was rescued based on a tip from a neighbor. Which brings me to my point: As animal lovers, we all need to keep an eye out for things that don’t quite seem “right” with the way our neighbors are caring for their pets. If that neighbor had not reported the owner of the dog, the dog would not have made it. One of my favorite quotes is: *”All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”* By Edmund Burke
    SO true.

PS: Thanks to everyone who repeatedly e-mailed Canadian PM Stephen Harper about the baby seal hunt. Let’s hope this was the last year for that abomination.

*JAMES(whichever one…)*– You can find “A Very Partial Ailurin Glossary” in _The Book of Night with Moon_ by Diane Duane. Some of the glossary is also on her web site, http://www.dianeduane.com.

I still can’t speak Ailurin very well, but I can read and understand it much better now. If you study hard, you too may be able to understand your cat, someday.

My cats know thier names and will come to me when called……and bailey my german shephard talks in a very funny way………….oviously you are not indeed a pet lover otherwise you would know that pets do indeed get very close to thier owners and it is a special bond that indeed puts you in mind to mother i.e be mommy to each of them and love them unconditionally and never cause harm.

I bet it’s nice and warm on top of the dryer, and the hum is probably comforting, too. But the kitten isn’t fooled. I bet he’s saying, “This isn’t my mom! Where’s the milk?” He’ll purr himself to sleep, though, as soon as his tummy’s full. What a cutie!

When Gilligan had her kittens under my carport, I was wondering what to do with them. Several people told me they’d have no problem dumping them off on some road somewhere. I, of course, could not do that and ended up giving them away. This is a cute little kitten, lucky she found a good home instead of getting hit by a car!

Though we are all eternally appaled at the cruelty which the world heaps upon and seems to accept toward our felis friends and fellow creatures, I always try to see, however misguided, some act of hope in an incident like this…Surely there were wiser and safer ways to put this tiny creature into a loving home, but perhaps this was all that seemed possible at the time. Now, all of that concentrated love that is a beloved cat will find its expression. Too optimistic?

Agree with you, Judy, about the Burke quote. Well done.
