In answer to your question…..her name came from the daughter (who is 10yrs old) who found her. She said she looks like an angel but I had to add a middle name for her which is Bug. She is an indoor/outdoor cat and very playful. She loves to attack your feet and legs when you walk past her. And the best thing about this little angel bug….no litter box is needed in the house (she tells us when she needs to go out)

She not much of a talker unless she needs to go outside for “business” or if you lock her out of a room that she wants in. She isn’t a siamese my guess is is a tabby of some sort.

I have a question and I don’t want to be a downer. There was a cat collector raided in the town I live yesterday. I have called the Animal Shelter to volunteer to help but was wondering if anyone here has ever worked with kitties from that kind of environment. I have worked with the shelter before but I am not sure what I might be getting into. Thank you

Be prepared Alicia! Often cats in collectors home have to be euthanized because they are sick or cannot be properly socialized. The cats may be terrified and the living conditions horrific. I have heard of house that had to be torn down because of health issue. Poor kitties…bless you for helping!

And to you Angel….what a luvvy (and sleepy) doll you are! I can almost hear her purring!

We have had a couple of people here in the Atlanta metro area that had 20-30 cats and many, many dogs. In both instances they were arrested and many of the poor animals had to be put to sleep. The houses were flea infested and feces and urine everywhere. I feel sorry for the poor animals and for the women too. I think they were kind hearted and it just got out of hand both were elderly and on very limited incomes. Their hearts were bigger than their brains or common sence.

At this point in time it is approx 114 cats. They are still trying to catch the rest. I know I joke about being the “cat lady” when I get older but I hope I know to get them fixed and cut it off when I can’t care for them. :(

question-noticed flea eggs on my cats last night. They do not go outside at ALL. On my way to go get some Frontline after work. Also have bombed the house and got spray from the vet for the beds/sofas/carpets, ect. Any ideas on how to keep these nasty fleas away for good? I’m always using the flea combs-thats how i noticed the eggs-ran it under water. Any good ideas out there ???

I know about the fleas, I used to have 2 indoor cats and they would get fleas but I was never sure from where. The frontline should take care of them from your cat. Now, if they are in your rugs or on your furniture thats another matter. I know alot of people don’t like to spray their houses, but after a professional could not get rid of our flea problem, someone told me to get RID A BUG for fleas and ticks, spray all the rugs, then after 2 hours vaccum. Well, it got rid of all the fleas and fleas no more. I didn’t have to do it again. Whatever you decide to do, good luck, and keep putting the frontline on the cats every month, around the same time.

Oh what a pretty kitty on this picture today. She looks so sweet!

I brought them in on myself from being outside watering plants. The birds and squrriels would be scratching so I think that is where they came from. ALso if you have a screened patio door they can enter that way also. I used to cut up inch long pieces of a flea collar and drop it into the vacumn cleaner bag or put it in the plastic recepticle of the bagless variety that way any live ones that you vacumn up will bite the dust literaly! I sprayed the screen door and around the front door also. How I knew I brought them in I had black specks all over my legs and thought it was dirt from the garden and lo and behold they jumped off, yikes.

Here is a little fun article - Hey Dee, we miss you!
    CAT PHRASE MEANS
    miaowbu Feed me.
    meeow Pet me.
    mrooww I love you.
Miioo-oo-oo I am in love and must meet my betrothed outside beneath the hedge. Don’t wait up.
mrow I feel like making noise.
rrrow-mawww Please, the time is come to tidy the cat box.
rrrow-miawww I have remedied the cat box untidiness by shoveling the contents as far out of the box as was practical.
    miaowmiaow Play with me.
Miaowmioaw Have you noticed the shortage of available cat toys in this room?
mioawmioaw Since I can find nothing better to play with, I shall see what happens when I sharpen my claws on this handy piece of furniture.
raowwwww I think I shall now spend time licking the most private parts of my anatomy.
mrowwwww I am now recalling, with sorrow, that some of my private parts did not return with me from that visit to the vet.
Roww-maww-roww I am so glad to see that you have returned home with both arms full of groceries. I will now rub myself against your legs and attempt to trip you as you walk towards the kitchen.
gakk-ak-ak My digestive passages seem to have formed a hairball. Wherever could this have come from? I shall leave it here upon the carpeting.
mow Snuggling is a good idea.
moww Shedding is pretty good, too.
mowww! I was enjoying snuggling and shedding in the warm clean laundry until you removed me so unkindly.
Miaow! Miaow! I have discovered that, although one may be able to wedge his body through the gap behind the stove and into that little drawer filled with pots and pans, the reverse path is slightly more difficult to navigate.
Mraakk! Oh, small bird! Please come over here.
ssssRoww! I believe that I have found a woodchuck or similar animal.
mmmrowmmm It is certain that the best tasting fish is one you have caught yourself.
mmmmmmm If I sit in the sunshine for another hour or so, I think I shall be satisfied.
Mreoaw Please ask room service to send up another can of tunafish.
Mreeeow Do you serve catnip with that?
mroow I have forced my body into a tiny space in order to look cute. How’m I doin?
Miaooww! Mriaow! Since you are using the can opener, I am certain that you understand the value of a well-fed and pampered cat. Please continue.

We were about to send her to a shelter until we found out that not one of the shelters could tell us for sure that she would be put to sleep. :-( that just couldn’t happen. Both Angus and Misha were throw away kitties too. Both loved people and were looking for a home. So can only agree with the others who ask: How could anyone throw these cats away? We have woods around our house and cats show up all the time. We feed them all, but only this sweet twosome has wanted to move it. People are so terrible to cats that I understand all the people who end up with 150 in their houses. My husband is afraid it will happen here.

God bless you for taking Angel in! You have a golden heart!
She is the cutest little Lilac tabby I’ve seen in a long time.

My Misha and Bear (the brothers coon) were kittens of a throw away mommy-cat. Abby (our black long haired domestic) was a give away from a college student, and Sweety (a Himalayan) -who I bought from a not too clean breeder all live happily together. I’m sure Angel will enliven your home as these four have done for us. Enjoy your wonderful little baby!
