Oh what a little cutie! This is what my Sampson would have looked like when he was a little Fuzz. But, he was a 14 pound 2 year old when I saved him from the shelter. I wish I could have seen his little baby face. Thanks for bringing me close little Mick!
I love the great picture! What a sweet little baby face. I would give him kisses and hugs all day. There’s just something about sleeping kittens that is extra special cuteness.
*ASPCA Applauds Gov. Rendell’s Proactive Steps to Improve Animal Welfare in Pennsylvania*
NEW YORK, October 17, 2006—The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) today applauded Gov. Rendell’s proactive steps to overhaul animal welfare conditions in Pennsylvania, including his appointment of two key officials in specially-created positions, as well as his proposed regulatory and legislative changes to the existing Dog Law.
“The ASPCA has been working with Governor Rendell and his staff in an advisory capacity for some time now to revamp animal welfare conditions in the state of Pennsylvania,” said ASPCA President Ed Sayres. “We have been impressed by the Governor’s obvious commitment to animal welfare and to improving conditions in state-licensed kennels, which have been operating in open violation of the existing Dog Law. Both the appointments and proposed changes announced by the Governor today are an important first step in making Pennsylvania a humane community we can all be proud of, and will directly impact the quality of life of dogs all over the state.”
The ASPCA welcomed the Governor’s appointment of Jessie L. Smith to be the Special Deputy Secretary for Dog Law Enforcement, and Jeffrey Paladina to be the new Special Prosecutor for Dog Law Enforcement. Ms. Smith was formerly Chief of the Torts Litigation Section in the Office of Attorney General, and is also the former President of the Board of the Directors of the Humane Society of Harrisburg. In addition to noting the importance of these positions, the ASPCA also congratulated the Governor on the 16 new appointees to the Pennsylvania Dog Law Advisory Board.
As a member of the Governor’s appointed ad hoc committee to review the state of the Dog Law, the ASPCA made several recommendations to the Governor earlier this year, including the replacement of key officials on the Dog Law Advisory Board and Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement.
“Governor Rendell’s decisive actions are a great example for other lawmakers who are trying to improve animal welfare conditions in their states and communities,” said Bob Baker, a consultant to the ASPCA on anti-cruelty and animal welfare issues. “The Governor’s decision to infuse change from the top down is a critical step forward in improving the quality of life for these animals.”
Investigations conducted by the ASPCA and others in recent years consistently revealed state licensed kennels operating in open violation of the Dog Law throughout Pennsylvania. The breeding dogs housed in these licensed facilities often were suffering from inadequate shelter, filthy and unsanitary living conditions, overcrowding, insufficient food and water, and lack of veterinary care. More recently, these deplorable conditions have also been exposed by numerous media sources, resulting in increased calls for change from concerned citizens and animal welfare organizations.
Just got to read this….and yes “Thank you” I grew up in Penna. and can remember when Rendell was mayor of Phila. It says good things about a man when he not only loves animals, but does not think that he’s gotten too high and mighty to still do good works.
Mickey is so cute. It is amazing all the cute stuff cats & kittens do. I think they know they are so cute! Especially, when we give them so much love and attention. He reminds me of two of my own, who are now 6 & the other is 1 1/2 yrs. old.
And the waiter replies; ” SSSHHHHHH….. not so loud, everyone will want one!”
Mickey is a cutie… reminds me of my son, when he was small… would sleep wherever he happened to be… I have a pic of him asleep in a plate of potato salad……
I know….it’s still dancing around in my head…yeah, Mickey you’re so fine…go Mickey! The theory is that you have to sing it or mention it to someone else to get it stuck in their head in order to get it out of yours!

Got a store kitty named Pages! She and I own a used bookstore, and she is the boss and offical greeter. She is a wonderful stress reliever and so much company on slow days.
Just curious, since you have so many fuzzes…(or to anyone else that may want to answer this)…do you find that male cats are more affectionate than female cats? I’ve always had just female cats…but it seems like alot of people mention that their boys are such love buckets…

Pam,
Yes it is true males are musch more snugalishus…..the females are a bit more stand offish, and I love them for who they are lol………….
Here is my weird question of the day: Do your cats or dogs look at you inquisitively when something about you is different? For instance, when I wrap a towel around my head after washing my hair, the way my cats approach me always reminds me of the ape and monolith scene from the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey! And I grew up with a lab mix who would run away from me when I would give myself a facial with a mud mask! Classic! Does anyone have similar stories?

Dee,
I know the feeling my German shepard Baily barks at me when I come downstairs ???? Its like um im your mommy silly what the heck………..But the cats see me in the bath tub and try to climb in LOL
Absolutly, I have a cap with eyes on it and every time I wore it around my dog he would bark at me when my head was down. It was right out of that Bugs Bunny cartoon with the fox mask. Head up, wagging tail, head down, barking. I think its hysterical!
Two of my cats arched their backs and hissed at me when I came out of the bathroom with a blue clay facial mask on. The rest watched me warily! Such funny creatures!
I found a plastic alligator that someone had left at my house as part of a Halloween costume from a couple of years ago. Bunny (3 year old female Maine Coon), is absolutely horrified of it. I left it on the hall floor by the bathroom door as a joke on a friend, and she spied it and literally jumped up and bounced off the hallway walls NEVER touching the floor. she wouldn’t come down the hall for a month after that without puffing up and doing the cautious creep… None of my other cats blinked an eye.
Both those stories are hysterical! They really can be scaredy-cats! Last week, while I was petting my little cat, Emily, she heard the weed-whacker guy outside the window (the lawn guys had just arrived), and she JUMPED off of me so fast that she gouged her claws into the palm of my hand! After I screamed in pain, I cracked up. They make me laugh every day.
OMG! if that doesn’t qualify for the cutest ever I don’t know what will. Isn’t it sweet how they just peter out and drop off like that when they are little? Cup-O-Love there. Full belly = sleepy time! Either that or he doesn’t want to miss the next corse!
I’m so stuffed I can’t eat another bite, FUZZ a DUZZ!
He’s plum tuckered out.
Mickey “bowls” me over! Too cute!
Aww! So cute! =)
Omigosh………..isn’t he just adorable ! Looks to me like that feeling you get after a Thanksgiving Dinner. Mickey you are a pure delight!
mmm, mmm, GOOD
ohhhhh how adorable!!!!!!!!!!! That is soooo unbelieveably cute - wonder if they know how cute they are?!?!?!?
Awwww! That just warms my heart.
Aww…so tired! What a cutie!

What a dollbaby….
I love the great picture! What a sweet little baby face. I would give him kisses and hugs all day. There’s just something about sleeping kittens that is extra special cuteness.
How cute. Just like a little one to fall asleep after eating! Or does he really LOVE that bowl! Adorable, just adorable!!!
Tabbies! My favorite! He looks so much like my Atticus, who is 2 years old now. OK, I MUST squish a kitty now–but I’m at work–drats!

*All I Need To Know About Birthdays,
I Learned From My Cat*
Be finicky - they’ll try harder to please you.
Give attitude - get attention.
If you don’t like your presents, SULK.
If you get bored at your party - just curl up for a nap.
Don’t stress out over your first grey whisker.
Act completely unimpressed by the presents you receive.
Remember, this is your day, so if anyone bugs you, you’re allowed to hiss and spit.
Take the day off and lie in the sun.
Stay out on the prowl all night long.
Demand only the most expensive fresh fish for dinner.
It’s a good day to shed your inhibitions.
Act catty - toy with your presents before you tear them open.
Don’t overdo it with the catnip or you’ll regret it in the morning.
If you aren’t getting enough attention, sharpen your claws on somebody’s leg.
Don’t let anything or anyone PUT YOU OUT!
And remember… curiosity might kill you, but birthdays won’t!
wow…kewl…my birthday is on sunday
turning 16
:-)
sorry I haven’t commented on here in awhile but my computer crapped out and wouldn’t let me online…but its fixed now so its kewl
Happy Birthday, Kristen. I hope you get everything you wish for!
bad joke, coming up…
A tom cat and a tabby cat were courting on a back fence at night.
The tom leaned over to the tabby with pent up passion and purred “I’ll die for you!”
The tabby gazed at him from under lowered eye lids and asked:
“How many times?”
Hi Dee!, I liked the birthday comments and the bad joke! Very funny.
