Buster Bean

Buster BeanThis is our little man at six weeks old. His feet were so big that we knew he would grow into a cat to be reckoned with. At one year he weighed in at 18 lbs! Our little man is now our Big Boy.

Buster is an awesome name. Better watch it Buster! I have a tank for a cat too! Tiger is twice the size of my other cats. I love her twice as much!

Hope not ’cause who would do that to
a cute kittie. So is Buster winning in
this tug of war game?

Thank you for brightening up a very cold and rainy day.
When I saw Buster Bean I laughed out loud. Adorable kitten, those are the most enormous pawsies I have ever seen. Love the look of cross eyed determination on his sweet face.:))

Your “little man” Buster is a cutie at 6 weeks, but now there must be so much more to love…I bet he loves his belly rubbed.
My Larry who passed was 18 lbs. He used that weight to wake me in the morning by laying on top of me. I still miss that after 2 years.

Man! Look at those paws! Even though the claws are extended you can just tell he would grow up to be big. His coat looks thick, too. Has this retained its gloss? Only curious. But he’s a sweeteh.

Hi, yes his coat is thick and silky and very long. He has a thick ruff around his neck. My vet says he’s a typical Maine Coon, but he’s really not. His mom was long haired but his dad was just a HUGE ole tiger cat. He’s still very playful.
Loves to chase the light from a flashlight.
Care to tell me about your furry pals?

Wow - that’s a gorgeous boy! Too bad he only loves him mommy and won’t let his sister squeeze and snuggle with him! I have an 18 pound cat too, even though she has the TINIEST feet I’ve ever seen on a cat, she still turned out to be a great big beautiful girl with a double grey & white coat.

I had a roommate who’s cat was 22 lbs. He was all white and was appropriately named Snowball. A very big snowball! He had been a feral cat that she rescued and I guess he never wanted to be hungry ever again.

My tuxedo cat Sylvester is 13.3 lbs at 1 year. The vet says he should be more like around 11 lbs. Trying to put a cat on a diet is like trying to tell me I cannot have chocolate ever again. (yeah right, good luck). I like a cat at 10 lbs as they are easier to pick up, have on your lap and sleep on your chest (my old cat, Whiskers who was around 9-10 lbs would sleep on my chest during Wintertime. I miss her alot even though it has been almost 2 years since she “went to visit the otherside of the rainbow bridge”.) Now I have Sylvester who is starting pull at my heart strings now that he cuddles up to me at night because it is starting to get cold out. :-)

I know what you mean…my cat at 2 years weighed ‘only’ 11 lbs and the vet said well last time she was here she only wieghed 5 lbs and so she need to lose 5 lbs…..give me a break….i can’t even lose 5 lbs…so i said she was only 10 months when i brought her last time - probably not fully grown….lol….poor kitty..let her enjoy her food! I think 5lbs is not enough for a full grown cat anyways!

Comment by JenniWin
2007-01-07 14:03:23

FIVE pounds? Your kitty must have still be growing. Unless she is the tiniest cat ever, that seems a little underweight for an adult cat. Is she an oriental? I have a 2 year old cat that came to us as a rescue - she is very small and is very healthy and slender at the 8 pound mark. I’d be skeptical - let that kitty have some food! When 5 pounds is half your body weight, that’s a lot to lose! Good luck with your fur ball.

Putting a cat on a diet…much easier said than done. Buster was never really overweight at 18 lbs…just LARGE. He’s now at 15 and vet says that’s good. He is crazy about flowers too. When any come into the house they have to be in a very stable container just to put up with the sniffing and rubbing.
We traveled to Florida a few years ago , with Buster, of course and he was just under the 20 lb. weight limit for the place we stayed. I think they were expecting a dog. He’s a great traveler as long as he can watch the semis.
