my mom got her when she just got out of college because she wanted some company while living alone. she saw a sign that said kittens for free in an empty apartment. my mom went inside and saw only two cats: mandie (the mother of the litter) and boomer (possibly the runt). boomer was a weird one, and poor mandie was left without any kittens and she was crying so loudly and sadly. my mom did have to admit that she was kind of scraggly and dirty, but she could see that she was a sweet kitten in her eyes. she took boomer too and then there were none left. the cats were abused and kicked around while mandie was just a kitten, innocent and helpless.

when my mom went home she visited her parents and showed them her new cats. boomer was not shy and was rambunctious, but mandie didn’t come out. she started getting used to just women, and eventually everybody.

boomer died when he was 11 from cancer. so sad (cry cry). mandie was still living, though. she is still kind of shy with strangers, but she is getting better about not running away. she loves my aunt the best, and of course me. mandie is currently 21 years old! I know it’s a world record (not really). she is supposed to live till she’s 23 or 24! Wow! she has arthridis in her hip, but she is doing great.

i love her so much with all my heart.
