Ruby & MaraWe drove an hour and a half to rescue these two in Seguin, Texas. They’re the light our lives. They love to sleep in Daddy’s drawers.

Good thing it’s daddy’s dresser drawers and not his other “drawers”.
Give them tons of smooches and loves. Bless you for rescuing them.

Our kitty would follow Daddy to the bathroom and climb into his drawers when he was “indisposed”.

I have been lurking for a long time now, and finally feel compelled to add my 2c.

That is definitely a darling pair of puddy tats. Just like all the babies here, I want to give em many hugs and kisses. But I must say that drawer-napping seems like normal kitty behavior to me…… for *every* cat that has ever shared living space with me (and there have been more than a few) has loved to sleep and play in my sock drawer.

I have to agree with you. Anytype of basket or drawer or box was fair game for any cat that choose my humble abode. Well, except for the cat carrier, because that means they are being taken to a torture chamber of somesort.

What sweethearts. My Taffy was partial to my jewelry dresser drawer after he would awaken he would trot off with a necklace or two. He was a strange little boy the alcohol, tobacco chewing and jewelry stealing taffy coloured tabby alot like the one in the drawer.

Hi, I have been a quiet observer of this website for months now. I just have to say that I love this site…it lights up my life. The reason I have chosen to post today is that I thought maybe you guys could help me. I remember reading on here not too long ago that somebody on here breeds bengals. I am embarrassed to say that I don’t remember who. After their description of the bengal which I knew nothing about, it got me interested in acquiring one for myself and child(ren). I am expecting a baby in February, and when my first child came along I had a beautiful mixed breed housecat. This cat was a kitten when I was pregnant and took to my daughter like her protector. I loved this cat dearly (sad to say, during my divorce my ex-husband took her somewhere and dropped her off and I haven’t seen her since..she had lukeimia :( ). Anyway, not to bore you guys, but I have always wanted another cat that would do the things that she did i.e.: take showers with me, greet me at the door, protect my baby… who was premature, and was always where I was no matter what I was doing…. I’ve been looking into the bengal market in my area, but the closest I have found is in FL, and the starting price is about $750 with papers. I am a single mother of two and cannot afford this price, but I would be willing to pay as much as $250 (which seems small in comparison). Can anybody help me?

A lady that posts here breeds Bengals, I think she’s located in Maryland but I’m sure she can offer advice or help in some way. I think her mame is Brandi Lee.

There is a bengal kitten website I was checking out. Call Bill & Cathy Brown in Dothan , AL at 334-712-0343 or e-mail to info@millcreekbengals.com. There price said $0 which is probably a type error or maybe they’re negotiable. Good luck!

Hi, I am sorry about your first cat. So sad! I agree if you check out your local shelters, there are probably some Bengal or Bengal mixes out there that would love to come home to you. I used http://www.petfinder.com here in Calif to find my wonderful Tuxedo colored cat - Sylvester. If you type in your city and state, etc you should see a list of shelters that may have the cat you seek. They show pictures of the cats and usually give a discription of it’s personality. Good luck.

Her name is Brandi Lee and yes she is from Maryland. I will make sure she sees your comment. Brandi is a wonderful woman and I believe she may have exactly what you are looking for.
As for Ruby and Mara, they are too cute for words. I had a cat who loved drawers. It didn’t matter if he didn’t fit because he’d just remove whatever was in his way. I’m glad you drove to rescue these babies.

Bengals are very expensive to breed and my husband bought his in 2003 and paid 800.00. Make sure if you find someone that will sell you a cat this cheap that they are truly a breeder and not someone trying to take your money. Please keep us updated.

Just a quick suggestion–you might wanna Google “Bengal Rescue.” A lot of purebred dogs and cats have their own rescue organisations and if the Bengals have one you might run across a fortunate opportunity that way. It’s an affordable way to acquire a purebred or hybrid pet and you’d be helping save an animal in unfortunate circumstances.

I adopted my youngest kitty through a rescue operated by an on-line friend of mine. She (kitty, not on-line friend!) is half Siamese and looks almost exactly like a Black Oriental Shorthair. I even have a picture of her mother, a registered Chocolate Point. I can’t say enough good about the Rescues out there working to help poor dear betrayed pets find a forever home!

Ruby and Mara are certainly precious and will bring you lots of joy! I love the names you chose! Best wishes to all of you!

A Box, a bag, clothes baskets, you name it, she’s been in it. She is orange–so watch out for the orange kitty, it will be the trouble maker!! Have fun with them :)
