that is a great site. thank you
i wish i could get mine to stay still long enough to get out the camera
Chuck, what a beautiful cat family!
I love your kitties! They sure look like they have a lot to worry about don’t they? They are beautiful especially the tabby with the curled ears. Is that one (can’t tell sex) a fold? I’ve heard of them but never saw one.
The curled ear kitty is an “American Curl” is he not?
They’re all adorable!
Sweet Kitties. Having a fondness for pointed cats I am just in love with CC and RIP little Pepper.
Very cute pictures. Sorry to hear about Pepper. Hope she wasn’t in any pain. Off to the Rainbow Bridge for Pepper and hopefuly you will see her again.
Chuck, I just looked at your website for your cats. They are so cute and adorable. Penny has such unusual markings and coloring, so pretty. So sorry about Pepper. She was so cute. I loved Kuja’s ears. You have a cute family!
Wonka looks very much like the kitty that was found at our Toyota dealership yesterday, under the hood of a car! Rail skinny, scared, and a little skittish, but she hopped right up onto the reception desk, laid down, and started purring. Of course, she was the center of attention all day long, and our sales coordinator, Mal, took her to the vet for worming, shots, and then home for an intro to his 2 other cats and a teacup poodle. She has been named Sissy, and has a happy, secure, forever home.
T
Thats really good that Sissy gets a forever home too
I like hearing little stories like that
Wow, Tom! Went to your web page..what a lovely fuzz family you have! Love ‘em all!
Fantastic happy ending, Thomas! I LOVE all you men who love cats! (Note to self: next boyfriend MUST be a cat-lover.)
Yeah! Dee you are back! We missed you so much!
Ditto, we all have been wondering if you were alright. Welcome back friend.
Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I wish I could invite everyone to Thanksgiving dinner! Oh, and Susan–you’re a (Georgia) peach! (and peaches are my favorite fruit!)
Thanks, someday I am a peach somedays just the pits!
You are so funny Susan! Thanks to all of everyone’s sense of humor! It is much needed as I am having a very stressful and horrible week at work. I find looking at the kitten pictures helps at times. Thanks to all who post here with your stories and comments.
I am sorry you are a tough time at work we all hope and pray it lightens up for you.
Have you ever eaten at my favorite resturant The Fransiscan it is down near the boats that go out onto the bay? I hav eaten there three times the food is wonderful and the view is outstanding.
Thank you for your kind words, Susan. It is much appreciated. I haven’t ever tried the The Franciscan but since you enjoyed it so much I might try it sometime soon. Take care.
HA! I’m still grinning over their names! Too cute!
Wonka is so cute, he looks my cat , Tiger. Are Willy & Wonka twins? AWW! too adorable.
*Puss in Boots Fuzz!*
Wonka is an appropriate name — he’s a sweetie.
WONKA JUST TOOK OVER THE OLD LADY’S SHOE NOW WHAT ? SO SO CUTE.
Little Wonka is just adorable! Bless you for fostering these little fuzzbutts. Fuzz-in-Boots!
oops, that wasn’t your site, Tom…. I mean Chuck! Sorry, Chuck, cute babies!
Here is something cute, from a cat’s point of view.
The Rules for Cats
(If you don’t train the humans you live with, they’ll try to train you.)
Adorable poses to use when you want to get your own way include:
Sitting with one paw raised
Lying on back with feet in the air
Curled up in a ball with one paw over eyes
Peering out from the inside of a wastepaper basket
Lying on stomach with paws crossed
If you’re in one of the above poses, move as soon as she gets out the camera.
Don’t play with yarn while she is knitting. Wait until she’s finished, then lift the ball out of the basket and macrame the room.
Nothing can ruin your dignity quicker than a teaspoon of catnip.
The oldest cat in the house gets the first choice of laps.
Establish your right to sleep where you choose on the bed. If your human objects to your sleeping on the pillow, flick your tail in her face every time she tries to get you to move.
Grow your own fur coat. Sweaters are for dogs.
When a human is really angry, fall on the floor, roll on your back, and assume your most adorable expression.
Hope everyone enjoys this. Sorry, it is a bit long
Those are so true, Renee—especially the “paw over the eyes” one! Actually, my Atticus puts his entire forearm (do cats have forearms?? haha) over his eyes when he is sleeping. He reminds me of an old drunk…
Cute! Ya gotta love the cattitude! It is so true. I KNOW they think about this stuff — mine, do — I am completely trained.
Sleep on the pillow? Mine just go straight for the head and wouldn’t move if I set the bed aflame! Not that I could with a cat on my head.
My four legged nephew that has been visitng for almost two weeks he was supposed to go home a week ago but my sister-in-law knows how much I am enjoying him so she is kindly letting him stay and be spoiled . Anyway when I go to bed he hops up and lies down across my arm and book. After many minutes of petting and telling him he is so sweet he will move down a bit so I can read after he rubs his face all over mine and sticks his nose in my ear. Last week he sneezed right in my ear oh well it was worth it to have some kitty love!
how cute!!! He looks like a little stinkerpot - I like him!!!
I forgot one- Insist on fresh, cold water in your bowl every morning– then drink out of the aquarium.
What a handsome boy! Very big M on the forehead.
I R IN UR BOOTZ Fuzz!
very cute, mine did the same thing when they were tiny, now they just lay on top of the shoes lol

Hi, Anji—I’ve been absent for a few days—I think I have adult ADHD!
Somebody put some wheels on this ship so we can roll, baby! Looks like Wonka’s ready for action… what an adorable sweetie!
That would be funny to have one in a shoe skate you could take him/her for a ride.

Little cat, big boot!!! Such a precious baby and Love the picture!
Dee, welcome back! Hope all is well. Good to see your post. Renee, your cat rules are funny! Hope Willy and Wonka get forever homes together.
Wonka is darling… of course… Love the name…
Glad to see you back, Dee!!
I’m not very familiary with country music, but Sonny Burgess (who sings “The More I’m Around Some People, The More I Like My Dog”), has a website set up for Tyson the dog—actually it’s Tyson’s home page. Very adorable photos —check out his “bio” by clicking on “pedigree.”

Hi Dee! Welcome back! We missed you. I guess your TDK family is now a “responsibility” (like that phone call home when you’re going to be out late). LOL
I tried Fostering once, but failed. I could not possibly let him go. Our Hurricance Katrina kitty is now part of our family.
Thank you for giving such a nice transition home for these kitties!
Cutie! I’m sure he’s planning mischief with his brother!
Great story here! (And for those of us who can’t afford Isaac Mizrahi’s $10,000 gowns, he has a nice clothing line at Target.)

What’s in for fall? It looks to us like compassion is the fashion! We’re thrilled to announce that the ASPCA is the beneficiary of Isaac Mizrahi’s participation in Celebrity Jeopardy!, due to air on November 14.
When the designer confirmed his participation in this popular game show, the ASPCA was guaranteed a donation of $25,000. “The generosity of people like Mr. Mizrahi is what enables the ASPCA to continue its lifesaving work, and we thank him,” says ASPCA President & CEO, Ed Sayres. “It is also deeply gratifying that, as the oldest animal welfare organization in this country, we are on the radar screen of one of the best-known fashion icons of our time.”
Don’t forget to cheer on Mizrahi and the ASPCA next Tuesday! For schedule information, check your local listings or visit Jeopardy online.
This has nothing to do with cats, but check out this 8,000 calorie burger that The Heart Attack Grill is cooking up. Truly gross. And read about how they cook the fries!

YUCK!
My God….I love burgers but I couldn’t finish half that thing!!!!
OMG!! I think I’m gonna hurl! I can feel my arteries clogging just looking at that burger. And the bit about being a “real man” I guess real men die young!
Ugh! That made me ill just looking at it. Do they have defibrilators standing by?
Disgusting!
A DAILY MORSEL
“A cat has absolute emotional honesty: human beings, for one reason or another, may hide their feelings, but a cat does not.”
Ernest Hemingway
I have to share these two beautiful stories posted on the Purina website…
Posted by Sharon B.. November 13, 2006 The last year of my little dog’s life was good due to the complete devotion of my cat, Mittens. Quincy was quickly going blind and deaf and could no longer be put on a leash due to arthritis. Mittens came up to the door every morning and took Quincy out for his morning potty break. Mittens stood by the little dog the entire time and gently guided him back to the front door. The Maine Coone was the eyes and ears for the little dog up until the very end. Mittens laid above Quince on the tub with one paw resting on his back -he wanted him to know that he was not alone in the house. The day the dog passed away from a stroke, Mittens wandered the house howling. We have a new dog now, and Mittens is completely devoted to her.
Posted by Bonnie L.. November 13, 2006 My four year-old cats, Misty and Smokey, have been a constant sense of joy and wonder for me. Now I have an even better reason to appreciate them.
Last Tuesday morning at 3:00 AM, my husband had a seizure and a heart attack. I was asleep, but my cats went immediately into action: they both jumped on me and I jolted awake.
They stayed with me while I tried to revive my husband. In fact, my little girl actually tried to get my husband’s attention by meowing in his ear!
Thankfully, he survived the heart attack and seizures, and is home with my two little heroes. He tells me they stay around him all day, and actually meow at him when the phone rings!!
Cats: they are surprising people!!
that is just so sweet and wonderful to hear. God bless you all
Thank god for your cats! That is an amazing story.
Totally adorable!!

*Golden Girl*
SierraSubmitted By: Bruce Ross
I’m one of those people who can’t pass by a pet store without going in just to see the puppies. A couple of days after Christmas, I was at the mall when I spotted an exuberant Golden Retriever pup beckoning me inside with her wagging tail and soulful brown eyes. There was no resisting this visit—Goldens have been one of my favorite breeds.
I felt an immediate spiritual bond between the pup and me. It was a quiet day and the manager let me play with the puppy in the back room for almost an hour nonstop. When she got tired, she curled into my lap and nuzzled her nose onto my arm. The manager was quick for the sale, saying that he had never seen a better match. I regretfully had to decline.
He responded, “Too bad. It’s probably the last puppy in Orange County. All our puppies are gone by Christmas Eve and it’s the same for almost all other pet stores. The only reason this one is here is because her shipping information got messed up and she just arrived this morning—too late for Christmas Eve. Even so, I guarantee that she will be gone by tonight.”
There was no doubt in my mind that this dog was special—and, we had definitely bonded. But within days, I would be leaving on an around-the-world trip and wouldn’t be back for four months. Obviously, I couldn’t take a new dog home now. As I left the store, the puppy started crying loudly, and pawing and jumping up at the window. It was so hard to walk away from her. Half an hour later, I could still hear her yelping across the mall. Even though common sense won out—it totally broke my heart. I resolved that when I returned from my trip I would find another pup just like this one.
For months after my return I was on a mission. I visited many kennels and pet stores looking for a dog like the one I had fallen in love with in the pet store that day. Although I liked every pup I met, there was always something missing—the connection I had experienced with that special puppy. As time passed, I had all but given up and thought that perhaps I was being unrealistic in my expectations. The idea of getting a Golden was put on the back burner.
Thanksgiving was approaching when my business partner came in and informed me that his wife had seen an ad for a free Golden to a good home. It was a local family so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to look and went by after work.
The young couple had two Goldens; a one-year-old and a three-year-old. They had gotten married earlier that year, moved into a new small home, and now a baby was on the way. They realized that they just didn’t have room for two dogs, and one would have to go. They figured it would be easier for someone to take the younger one.
I could hardly meet the dog—it was running all over the place; jumping up on furniture, even grabbing food off the table. Sheepishly, the wife confessed that they had been so busy with the wedding, moving, and making babies that they hadn’t had any time to train this dog. I knew that the last thing I wanted was a dog that had every bad habit imaginable and no training. But, I didn’t want to be rude so I asked the usual question. “So, where did you get her?”
The wife replied, “We got her at the mall a couple of days after Christmas. We had called all around and it was the only dog we could find.”
I gave them an astonished look. Could it be? My heart was pounding as I asked if they had a sales receipt. When they showed it to me, I immediately got tears in my eyes. Then I nodded and said, “She’s a pretty special dog. I’ll take her.”
The bond between Sierra and me returned quickly and within a few weeks I had broken almost all of her bad habits. We became inseparable; we shared life, adventures and companionship until almost her eighteenth birthday. After Sierra left this earth, I have had other dogs that I loved dearly. But there is, and always will be, an exclusive corner of my heart that is occupied by only one dog—a special Golden girl who was fated to be mine.
Well, my friend, you’ve done it again! Another heartwarming story complete with tears. Glad you are back. I need to buy more tissues! Keep them coming. Your animal companions will always find you if it is meant to be. Glad that Bruce found his.
LOVE LOVE LOVE that long nose and big ears!!!!!!!!! Gonna be a huge smart one!! Hang on to him!!
I’m not a sneakers person, but somehow my mind has been changed right around.

What a great story!
ASPCA Horse of the Year
Harley, an eight-year-old red and brown Tennessee walker/quarter horse owned by Pam and Mike Riley in Woodville, Texas, saved a mare’s life at the risk of his own. One of the Riley’s other horses, Girl Friday, a 35-year-old Kentucky Walker, became entangled in the debris leftover from the damage wreaked by Hurricane Rita a few months earlier.
Harley got Mrs. Riley’s attention by stomping his feet, rearing his head and leading her to a neighbor’s pasture on the outskirts of their 28-acre property, where Girl Friday lay camouflaged by brush and entangled in broken branches and wire.
“I wouldn’t have found the horse; no one would have found this horse if it wasn’t for Harley,” Riley said.
After Riley called her niece for help, Harley walked over strewn trees for about 100 feet to get their rescuers’ attention so that Riley, who had broken an ankle in the course of the event, would not have to move and leave the injured Girl Friday alone. Girl Friday recovered nicely after enduring stitches, a much better ending than what might have become of her had Harley not come to the rescue.
These days, Harley spends his days running, playing and snacking on his favorite food, apples. He still watches out for Girl Friday by making sure she gets her exercise and plays nice with their other stablemate.
“Harley babysits her,” Riley said. “He keeps himself between the cranky older mare and the miniature horse.”
“People don’t give them credit,” Riley continued. “Horses are wonderful and very intelligent. If you pay attention, they’ll show you how smart they are.”
Hi Dee! Welcome back! Everyone has missed you. I even tried to post some cute comments for yesterday, in your honor, because everyone missed your stories. Hope you are ok.
Awww! Puss in Boot!
Hi Dee ! Glad you are back. Everyone has missed you and your stories. I even posted some cute comments yesterday, in your honor. Good stories today and cute quote by Ernest. Glad you liked my Cat Rules.
Several years ago I used to work for a vet. A woman brought in a dog to be spayed but the dog was pregnant and almost ready to give birth. She wanted us to throw the litter away. I had never owned a dog before, I was a dedicated cat person. Also, I was only a vet-tech but still could not bring myself to let those puppies die. I removed them from the uterus and resusitated the puppies while assisting the vet with the spay. I brought them home and hand raised the litter of four. I found good homes for three and kept one dog- Mr. FIBs. The only animals in my house were cats and one -Jazzmine- raised him. She litter box trained him, then house broke him and generally taught him all her kitty tricks. He was a very good, if not confused, dog with a lot of cat like behavior. He died two years ago at ten years of age. Loosing him was not as bad as knowing that he was accidentally poisoned by over medication. I know what you mean about connection, and there will never be another Mr. FIBs. He was the worlds only kitty dog.
Anyone who has been watching “The Bachelor”, this season—I am one of them (don’t hate me–haha)—will enjoy this story!
“The Bachelor” Finds True Love: Prince Lorenzo Borghese Adopts ASPCA Pooch
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEW YORK, November 14, 2006—Prince Lorenzo Borghese, also known as ABC-TV’s “The Bachelor,” has found true love—in the form of an 8-week-old mixed-breed puppy that he adopted from the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) in Manhattan late Monday afternoon.
The pup arrived with its mother and sister at the ASPCA when it was just two days old and fostered until he was ready for adoption. Prince Borghese calls the pup “Porcini”—because he’s as “cute as a little mushroom.”
Hi ! to everyone. Dee, glad you are back. Everyone has missed you and your stories.
“There was a young kitty who lived in a shoe/He was so adorable that no one knew what to do!”
My cat, Sylvester likes to go into my closet and sit near my tennis shoes. Sometimes he likes to rub his head against them. Not sure if my cat likes the feel of the shoe or smell of my feet in them (ugh). He will sit in the walkin closet for hours with door open. It has become a ritual for me after my shower to open the closet and get out my clothes but before I do that, I must sit with my cat in my closet and scratch his head and rub his belly. Loud purring is the result and I love that sound.
HA! Good one!
Okay, I’m having “Reply to this comment” problems! I keep replying and it asks for a code thingy and posts it at the bottom which makes them seem weird and out of place. ‘Sup?
Same problem I replied to Rosie in SA and I got the same code thing and my comment ended up on the bottom far from her entry.
I had that problem 2 days ago! I’m glad. I thought I did something wrong!
I love the names picked for these guys! Willy and Wonka…. very cute.
The kitten who lived in a shoe…
Bless your kind caring heart. Mr. FIBs will be romping in the meadow near the Rainbow Waiting for you.
I wrote a poem and have since shared it with some people from work who have lost their furry friends:
Heart broken and missing you, I drag my sorrow like a weight.
The space you occupied in my life is a gaping hole around me.
Invisible, emotionless the hole sits on my feet and begs for attention.
Emptiness follows me.
Tears pile up behind my eyes, sometimes they fall forward.
They cling to my lashes, heavy hot holding on like my grief.
Sometimes they spill back, a flowing grief that drips across my heart.
Emptiness fills me.
I held you in my hand and caressed you to your first breath.
Thin golden thread held you to this world, I was tangled there.
You embroidered a pattern to my days, it was beautiful, and I want more.
Emptiness covers me.
I held you in my arms and loved you to your last breath.
Golden thread broken, unraveling twine tethered to emptiness.
You waited for me, the circle was complete, I still miss you.
