This is our new baby, Watson. We brought him home from Petsmart to liven up our two ‘big kitties’. He has definitely livened up the house! He’s getting so big so quick. It’s wonderful to have a baby in the house after 13 years. He’s so full of energy and love.

what a cutie !
I just now saw this picture and your new kitty is just
absolutely beautiful. He could be a picture on a greeting card!!!
you have nice cat
…..Elementary, my dear FUZZ!
a duzza duzz!
adorable!!!
OH, what a beautiful boy!!! I think I have to get another kitten….
Hey Dee!
What did you think of yesterday’s history lesson?
That was interesting. I was not aware of that!
Thomas—are you still selling cars? What do you think of Carmax??
Still here at Panama City Toyota! I really haven’t had too many dealings w/CARMAX, since they tend concentrate in larger metro areas, but here on the Confederate Cote’ De Azure (aka the Redneck Riviera) we have a pretty good business share.
I know I certainly enjoyed it. I have been out of HS for 39 years and history is still my passion. A few years ago there was a TV show on the history of the 60’s my friends 20 something son was intently watching the history unfold to us it was just our life!
Oh my!! Watson is so adorable! Love his wild stripey fur. Those whiskers are incredible. He looks like he is ready for some more playtime. Enjoy your new baby and smooch the big kitties.
Have a great everyone!
Wow…he’s gonna be a big boy! Sweet face..love the “Einstein” ear hairs!
Einstein ear hairs, that’s a good one! I have a life size poster of “Uncle Albert” at my home. There is a remarkable resemblence.
What a darling! He makes me miss my own baby so much. He also likes to sit on your lap like than, and ‘paw’ your pants gently.
What a handsome kitty. He’s going to be a giant, just look at those big paws!
paws are bigger than his head.
Watson looks very content! Always good to have a nice lap to curl up on this time of year.
T
What a cutie!! He’s gonna’ be huge if he grows into those ears! Crazy kitty, fluffer-nutter! Lucky home.
He looks like he’s having quite the deep thoughts. What a beautiful guy!
Is he making a biscuit on your leg or is he just holding on to his mama? Awesome whiskers, just an adorable little fuzzbutt!
Have a lovely wonderful life sweet Watson
Oh my, Evangeline! I can’t believe someone else says,”making biscuits”. I thought I was the only. I said that to my mom one day and she said, what? I explained it to her. My Mindy(20 lbs.) loves to make biscuits in my lap! While she talks up a storm and purrs.
I also call it making biscuits! Too Funny! When I say that people look at me and ask me what I am talking about.
What a beautiful baby! He looks like the maine coon cat I grew up with. If his temperment is anything like hers was, he’s going to be a wonderful cat.
“Where’s Sherlock?” FUZZ
Watson! Come here, I want you!
With apologies to Alexander Graham Bell
great comment - many of us want him
He’s so darling. He reminds me of my long-haired tabby when she was a baby. And even though she’s still beautiful, and I love her to death, when I see these kitten pictures, I can’t help wishing she and her sister could have stayed six weeks old forever.
My dear Watson!
OH! Check out this live web cam—-there are beautiful elephants at the watering hole right now!
http://www.wavelit.com/index.asp?ch=Wildlife&sh=africam
OOOO! I got to see a fox! Sorry I missed the elephants! Thanks for the site, it’s sooooo cool! I was a M of O Wild Kingdom watcher as a kid, can’t help it.
Okay, so I have the above site up, reduced and off to the side, and I am at work. Got the picture? So, all of a sudden this hyena starts howling and hooting and the whole office looks at me! I’m glad the boss is out!!
Watson is a beauty - I hope his parents have many years with him. Kittens DO liven up older cats.
What a handsome boy!!! He definitely looks like there is some Maine Coon in his mix and that he is going to be sizable. He also looks very smart. I had a 28 pound Maine Coon that could get around the child proof lock on a cabinet door to get at his food AND dispense ice from the refrigerator. He was big enough to just reach up there and give the lever a swat. Enjoy that gorgeous fuzz head! I hope your older cats are loving him as well.
That is so funny, ppearson! I have a 16 pound cat that I think is ENORMOUS! I can’t even imagine a 28 pound cat.
Hi Dee! I have a Tuxedo and a tabby cat and they weigh about 20 lbs. apiece. And they are both lap cats! Well, are you taking care of your cold with a little chicken soup followed by some purring from your cats? I liked the one about static shock from your cats. I find, that long-haired cats create just a bit more of a shock when I touch them. When my hands are extremely dry, it makes the shock worse. I’ve actually seen sparks fly when I touch their noses! OUCH! to both of us.
As the owner of 8 Maine Coons…my Freddy at 5 years old is also close to 30 lbs and huge! My largest girl is 17 lbs. It’s not just the weight, either, it’s their long rectangular length, huge heads and large bones. Nothing is out of reach! A little boy that was trick-or-treating this past Halloween looked in the front door and saw Freddy and said…Gee, Lady, are those cougars? Way too laid back, though. Maine Coons are referred to as the “gentle giants!”
My Pelphrey kept growing until well after his third birthday. My vet remarked that if he got any bigger that I would have to register him as a wild animal! Large bones are the drfining factor on Maine Coons. He had the sturdiest legs and biggest paws on any domestic cat I had ever seen. I too had neighborhood kids that would come to visit the Big Kitty. For anyone out there that hasn’t experienced a Maine Coon, as a breed very sweet, loving and devoted to their people. I am sure CatRancher will agree since she has 8 of the fuzzheads around!
It is said that Maine Coons don’t reach full maturity until they are 3 to 5 years old.
Heheheh–my neighbor kids come to see the “big cats” too! And it’s not just the kids, either…I live in a fairly gang-infested neighborhood, and there are big tough-guys who’ll walk by and say, “man, I’m scared of THAT cat!!” The funniest part? The cat in question (even though his name is BadCat) is a total love-monster–he just happens to LOOK like a bruiser. (The kids know this–they’ve petted him enough…)
I used to have a website when I was a breeder of Maine Coons, but it is now defunct. I’ll have to get you a picture of my Freddy now….he looks so ferocious, but is so gentle. When he was 25 lbs and I was still showing him, one of the judges picked him up, draped him over her shoulders and said….”this is how they live up to their name gentle giants…I wouldn’t do this with much smaller cats, let alone this huge guy.” She was only about 5 foot tall and she walked around with him like that talking to the audiences. I was just silently praying that he wouldn’t get freaked, but he didn’t.
I would love to see a picture of Freddy. My Ollie is 16 pounds and everyone remarks on how big he is.
That is exactly what I thought. Main Coon! I had a cat that had one in her litter many years ago and it got enormous right away……Have no idea where it could have come from because I live on the west coast and have never seen another except in pictures. I love BIG cats!
He looks like he’s going to be huge! Cute kitty.
“Until one has experienced the love of an animal,
A part of one’s soul remains unawakened.”
Anatole France
That is so true, Dee.
Watson has perfect cat eyes.
Watson, I see your paws, and I know your claws are digging in to those thighs. Keep ‘em sharp Watson.
Hey Watson, you look like a wild cat ready to pounce.
We made it to California, cats and all, pretty uneventful actually. I think the cats handled it better than us humans. Thanks for all the travel tips.
Congratulations on your move! Glad that everyone is ok. Let us know if you have any good “settling in” stories.
Good to hear your trip went well. Did you get caught in any bad weather? I know crossing the Great Divide can be scary if not beautiful. BTW Welcome to the Golden State.
So glad you made it with little trouble. It is so true that humans seem to make more problems for themselves, but as it was said (by whom not sure)”Expect the best, but prepare for the worst!”
Have you ever had an electric shock when stroking your cat?? Here’s the reason why.
During fair weather, when relative humidity is low, static electricity can build up on a cat as it touches other objects. Cat hair loses electrons easily, so cats become positively charged.
When a cat licks itself, the moisture makes its fur more conductive – so the charge can more easily ‘leak’ off the fur. Many cats don’t like being stroked in cold winter weather because a fur charge can build up to cause small sparks, irritating them.
Hmm. That explains the cat. How about getting a zap from the dog? I was getting out of the car last night with the 80 lb pup and got zapped. Rocky just looked at me like ‘What was that for?’
When my kids were little we would turn all the lights off when it was cold and stroke the cat. It was like tiny fireworks! You can see the blue sparks as you run your hand across the cat’s fur. I am sorry now that I know it can irritate them. Although I always stayed away from the ears.
Watson is beautiful. He looks like he is going to be a big cat.
‘Cats make one of the most satisfying sounds in the world: they purr … A purring cat is a form of high praise, like a gold star on a test paper. It is reinforcement of something we would all like to believe about ourselves - that we are nice.’ - Roger A Caras
‘Animals are not our whole life, they make are lives whole.’ - Roger Caras
Roger has lots of great quotes. This is one of my favorites.
Make your life a masterpiece; imagine no limitations on what you can be, have or do.” — Brian Tracy
Imagination! Who can sing thy force? Or describe the swiftness of thy corse?

Now he’s a big baby! A handsome one at that..Great whiskers and a perfect “M” mark!
Watson, you look like my Kasha did when she was a kitten! You look like you are a Maine Coon! Con-cats, coonies are the best kitties, big love bugs (and I mean big- she is 15 lbs,and not fat)
What a wonderful set of whiskers! I am planning my next attack.
Remodeling the house is always fun. But maybe I’ll just stay on this lap for a little while.
Watson, you look like you are a Maine Coon! Yes, you are going to get big, coons are known as the gentle giants. My Kasha is 15 lbs, and isnt fat.
Gorgeous kitteh - hope he’s happy in his new Holmes!
Cute! Wish I had thought of that, it was so elementary!
What a wild looking guy! Makes me glad I’m on this side off the monitor where he can’t pray upon me.
Watson looks like he’s quite assertive about making sure he gets his daily (or is that hourly?) requirement of petting!
Yipes, Stripes! Watson is so lovely! And he looks full of energy! I bet he keeps those other two kitties going! Love him always!
‘Yipes, Stripes!’ - a MST3K reference?
Thought I’d ask.
Oh, Teenage Strangler! Nice catch there.
The only movie made in my mom’s hometown!
Play MSTie for me! Now where are Joel and the Bots?
He’s beautiful - nice color - a big furrball!!
cute cat
That is one beautiful kitten. He is going to be one very big cat.
I’m guessing he is a Maine Coon Cat. Very handsome indeed.
