We rescued this cutie from under an a/c duct. She was abandoned by her mother and was screaming. I scooped her up and took her home. She is three weeks old in this picture.

Thanks for the link, Kittenmaster.
Brad, So glad you posted, hope you will be back. I am sending you a hug. I have a couple of guys at the Bridge who will play with your Mr Snuggles…
Sweet tiny baby, would love to know how she is doing now
I have 5 cats that all have came to me under weird situation. but the worst is my 7 yr old “socks” was shot in the face twice by someone who doesn’t care for life and tried to kill him they shot him in the face while he looked right at them. he now has brain damage, can’t hear and can’t see out of the left side of his face he lost all his morals and pre-morals. The worst thing is we don’t know who did it. I am glad there are people out there that care and wouldn’t hurt a flea unless it bite ya.
What an absolutely adorable picture. You are a good person for rescuing this poor precious little baby - I’ve never seen such a tiny kitten! She’ll give you lots and lots of love for saving her life.
Such a tiny baby! She’s really enjoying that bottle!
I’ve had 2 kittens that have come to me really really small. Both of them (one is Huddy) used to ride around in my coat pocket and my back pack until they got too big. They went everywhere with me. Grocery store, mall, pet shop - you name it, their little butts went with me.
Hey Dee, Keep your paperbag you will definitely need when you look at http://cuteoverload.com/ ( Dec 10.)
I kinda lost it! I must have been making some very funny sounds cause I had 3 kits staring at me…OH!OH! What is wrong with mom now??
That “yogurt kitten” was priceless. (didn’t like the way she was being held, though—I’m such a killjoy!) And those little hamsters! How precious! I would love to get more guinea pigs—just afraid my cats would terrorize them. Thanks for the link, Evangeline!
Waaay to cute! I’ll have to agree with Dee about how the “yogurt kitten” was being held - kitty doesn’t look too comfortable. We used to have hamsters when we lived in an apartment that didn’t allow cats. Hamsters are cute little animals and will curl up on you and sleep - ours liked to sleep in my hair!
How wonderful you were able to find this very tiny girl and give her a loving home. She was very afraid of the big world and why not - she’s just an infant! She will be forever bonded to you!
Shooshie is so precious! She is so cute with her grey markings, pink nose and little white paws. Bless you for rescuing this little bundle. She looks intent on finishing her milk. Bet she has grown into a lovebug. Give her cuddles and smoochies for me (and all of us). BTW love the spelling of her name.
Have a great day everyone!

I love hearing stories of rescued kitties. It’s such a loving thing to do. Thank you for taking her in!! She will be forever grateful to you and you will forever be Mommy to her.
I remember having to read this at school as a girl. We had to read aloud and I was crying so hard I couldn’t go on. I was teased mercilessly, but I didn’t care.
That was such a pretty tree before those big fuzz paws got into it!! While I appreciate their humor, I wonder what else the cats rule in the house? I would have detered them from destroying my tree the very first year! (Note, one picture looks like the dog is smiling.) Iris and Fern: You are beautiful kitties with a talent for mayhem.
** A tip from Purina **
Ringworm is actually not a worm at all. It is a fungal skin infection found in cats and dogs that can be transmissible to humans. Most commonly found in long-haired kittens, it may appear as a red crusty hairless circular area on the skin, but can take on many appearances. If you suspect your pet has ringworm, see your vet for this treatable condition.
Yes, very contagious and difficult to get rid of in a multiple cat household or cattery. The fungus is shed and can live in carpeting and reinfect! I babysat a fellow breeder’s cat a few years ago and discovered she had ringworm. I was frantic. Luckily, I kept her isolated from my cats, but I ended up tearing out the carpet before I would let my pregnant Mom go back into the spare bedroom after our house guest had left…
Wow! I didn’t realize it can live in carpeting! About 10 years ago I had this itchy rash on my neck and a co-worker insisted it was ringworm—she said that a good way to cure it is to put bleach on it a few times a day. Well, what was even more ridiculous is the fact that I followed her advice! And, of course, I ended up with a huge, painful, purple patch on my neck. Finally, I went to my Doctor, who said it was a yeast infection on my neck. (I used to run daily—was never aware that you could get yeast infections anywhere on your body from sweating.) I think she thought I was nuts for listening to that advice–well, I guess I was…

To clean the fungus from a cattery, they do recommend bleach….however…..household furnishings/carpet and BLEACH don’t mix (and obviously SKIN, too….you poor girl!) I was so upset with my friend (he had to have known that he had a ringworm problem in his cattery!) that he let me help him out by watching two of his girls while he moved across country. I ended taking them to the vet, paying the bills and then paying to ship them across the country…$$$ Ringworm is much easier to treat in people than cats!

I had ringworm once on back of my arm and doctor told me to apply antifungal cream several times a day and it will clear up in a few days. But don’t use people antifungal stuff on kitties, always take furr babies to vet for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
Wow what a cutie we rescuded our cat from the desert she was small and hadnt had any food she was in a friends yard who had 2 cats already she was meant to be ours she is now 1 yr old she was about 6 weeks then and a sweet one now her names Desiere (Desi)
On the first day of Christmas, my kitten ruined for me…
A batch of my special hand-print cookies. I had turned my back to grab the cookie sheet sitting on the stove. In that micro-second, Sara climbed onto the table, poked her paw into the delightfully kneady mixture and, suddenly off-balance, fell into the cookie dough. Net loss? Six cups of flour, four cups of sugar, three sticks of butter…. Of course, it would have been cheaper to remove the feline ingredient, pick out the hairs, and just rename the recipe Paw Print Cookies.
On the second day of Christmas, my kitten accompanied me….
On a trip to the vet clinic. Who knew that skinny curling ribbon has feline taste appeal? I didn’t. Damages: $28 for the office visit, $36 for anesthesia so the veterinarian could take $55 X-rays in case Sara had taste-tested any other Christmas decorations, and a heck of a lot of embarrassment when the vet removed the 3′ curly tail in slightly less than two seconds by tugging at it with a pair of tweezers.
On the third day of Christmas, my kitten wrecked for me…
13 ornaments on my Christmas tree. My mistake was forgetting to chain the decorations to the branches. My other error was leaving the room to go to the bathroom while Sara feigned sleeping under the tree. How was I to know she was actually measuring its climbing potential? Value of broken bulbs? $7.50 plus tax.
On the fourth day of Christmas, my kitten broke for me…
A statue in my Lenox Nativitye. Would you believe two Wise men plus a head? Lenox nativity figurines: $55.99
On the fifth day of Christmas, my kitten scratched for me…
The kid across the street who collects for charity. It was an accident. She merely wanted to reach out and touch someone. Unfortunately, she used a unsheathed claw to do so. I settled out-of-court for the cost of a jacket to replace the boy’s blood stained one and a hefty donation to the charity of their choice. Although the amount must remain secret according to our settlement, let me put it this way. You haven’t seen many soldiers for the Salvation Army this year, have you? Think: Major Windfall!
On the sixth day of Christmas, my kitten opened for me…
The presents beneath my Christmas tree. It was only two, really. While doing some early shopping at a discount store, I purchased a catnip mouse for Sara’s stocking. Apparently, anything in the same bag as catnip takes on its potent aroma for a very long time. Replacement costs: $3.99 for another roll of Christmas wrapping paper, $4.50 for two empty boxes, $1 each for the kind of bows Sara can’t unravel.
On the seventh day of Christmas, my kitten lost for me…
The earrings I bought for my sister Mary. Actually, it was one earring but since Mary doesn’t have a hole in her nose or navel, a pair of matching earrings does make a more appealing gift. Sale price: $29.95 plus tax.
On the eighth day of Christmas, my kitten helped me…
Replace my E and G guitar strings. Would you believe a kitten could fit into the itty-bitty hole in the middle of my Yamaha guitar? Neither could I, but Sara thought so. And she succeeded once she got those rascally strings out of the way. Unfortunately, her little rear end couldn’t get out the way it came in. After paying through the whiskers for her previous escapades, I would have been willing to leave her in the guitar for the duration of the holiday season, except that she chose to get stuck two hours before I was due at the nursing home for our annual Christmas carol sing-a-long. Set of steel guitar strings: $12.95; jar of petroleum jelly: 79 cents.
On the ninth day of Christmas, my kitten destroyed for me…
My Christmas card list when she walked across my computer’s delete key. Cost for call to Computer Country’s 900/help line: $17.50. And I still don’t know what happened to the listings of B through H.
On the tenth day of Christmas, my kitten hid from me…
The remote control from my 13-inch TV. This wouldn’t be such a disaster if she hadn’t previously stolen the power knob. I missed a week’s worth of Christmas specials, including my all-time favorite, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Rental of “It’s a Wonderful Life”: $2; purchase of book, “Good owners, great cats”: $24.95. Unfortunately, it never mentions the psychological profile of kittens with kleptomania.
On the eleventh day of Christmas, my kitten ate for me…
The drumsticks off my 19-pound turkey. OK, OK, So this one time it was my fault. I knew I never should have uttered those now infamous words: “Your first turkey, Sara. Want to try just a little piece?” Cost: Christmas Dinner.
On the 12th day of Christmas…
Sara rested. And so, thank goodness, did my VISA card.
Thank you for giving me credit for the article. My words have been borrowed many times without my permission or name attached. So, to stumble across your entry was a pleasant surprise.
Hi Dee. There was only one comment from you held in moderation - which is now online. I think the anti-spam software I use was probably suspicious of the multiple uses of the word ‘Christmas’ - repeated words are common in spam messages.
If any of you like apple butter, I made this recipe for Pumpkin Butter over the weekend, and it is FANTASTIC. And very easy…
**Pumpkin Butter**
1 can (15 oz.) LIBBY’S® 100% Pure Pumpkin
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
Directions:
COMBINE pumpkin, sugar, honey, lemon juice, cinnamon and cloves in medium heavy-duty saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; reduce heat to low. Cook, stirring frequently, for 20 to 25 minutes or until thickened. Serve with biscuits, breads and corn muffins. Store in airtight container in refrigerator for up to 2 months.
See how your senators and The House voted on animal issues for 2006 at this HSUS site. Scroll down to page 3 to get the “key” to the chart. Very interesting…. http://www.fund.org/pdfs/HumaneScorecard11-17-06.pdf
How cute and what a lucky little kitty! We found a stray mother cat who lost her kittens in the rain last week, she had moved them into a drainage ditch and noone could find them until after the rains. But, a happy ending for the mother, one of the ladies at work took her home and made her an indoor cat. The cat was so loving that someone somewhere must’ve taken care of her until she got pregnant!
I clicked on the site and my immediate reply went something like this: :::gasp::: ohmigod, ohmigod, ohmigod…..ohmigod!!!!
I have a total soft spot for itty-bitty kitties, and after seeing this adorable little fluffbutt, I want to go to all the shelters in the city and clear out their population of baby-kitties.
Now, if you all will excuse me, I need to go mop myself up off the floor and put my melted self back together. What an adorable little sweetie!!!
“After scolding one’s cat one looks into its face and is seized by the
ugly suspicion that it understood every word. And has filed it for reference.–Charlotte Gray”
Dee, I just finished reading how my senators and congresspersons from my state voted, and sadly this looks like another partisan issue. I used to be a very conservative Republican, but thank goodness, I have seen the light and am closer to the left now. How can any self-respecting person (who is supposed to be representing us, I might add) vote against animal welfare issues?!
Because it is not the job of the federal government to handle those issues. I work for the Fed. Believe me when I say that nothing can take an easy and obvious job and screw it up like the federal government, and waste tons of money in the process.
perhaps, but voting AGAINST an animal rights issue, when we have so much pork barrel spending is just ludicrous. Someone needs to send these clowns a message that they are here to serve us, not the other way around.

Now that I can totally get behind. I live just outside the Beltway, and I’ll tell you straight up that the federal government is a totally different world from the one the rest of us live in, and it is totally run by the special-interest lobbies. Get the special-interest lobbies out of Congress, and I bet you’ll see a turnaround.

Kittenmaster: Are there technical problems with the site today? Some of my posts are not being accepted….
Hi Dee. There was only one comment from you held in moderation - which is now online. I think the anti-spam software I use was probably suspicious of the multiple uses of the word ‘Christmas’ - repeated words are common in spam messages.
Thanks, Kittenmaster—I’ll remember that next time…
tiny darling!!!!!
I’m so happy that your kitteh ab-duct-ion mission was successful!
You are a wonderful person for taking sooshie in. I hope she is healthy. It would make me happy to hold something so precious.
Isn’t this great?

Recipe makes 2 cups.
What an adorable baby! You’re wonderful to adopt her. You will have a friend for life. How sweet she is.
“All children left unattended will be given a free kitten. –Sign in a veterinarian’s office”
I wonder if it works …
I wouldn’t do that to the poor kitten!
A veterinarian, of all people, should know–There is no such thing as a free kitten.
its so tiny and cute especially because Shooshie is being bottle fed!!!!!!
I cant belive Sooshie is only 3 weeks old!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!)
See how your senators and The House voted on animal issues for 2006 at this HSUS site. Scroll down to page 3 to get the “key” to the chart. Very interesting….

THOMAS: Did you see the space shuttle Saturday night? That was so beautiful. I’m sure you saw it much clearer than I did. I love the night launches.
How funny!

Give me a private charity, they’ll do it right.
perhaps, but voting AGAINST an animal rights issue, when we have so much pork barrel spending is just ludicrous.
If you want a good animal rights’ organization to donate to over Christmas, look up Best Friends….

Lucky you, and lucky kitty for finding you, she’s a beauty.
I posted this late Friday, but I think most people missed it. It’s a collection of hysterical cat cartoons…

I caught it and sent 12 different ones to a good friend- the 12 emails of Christmas!
Thanks Dee, funny toons!
I guess you don’t have access to a pc on the week-ends? Cause TDK is not the same without all your great posts! Poor week-end kits they get so few postings.
