Renee, I think you have all the ingredients you want now, but I would usually use the following: flour, suet, currants and raisins, sugar, pinch of salt, water or milk for binding everything together. And yes, I am in the UK; I live in London.

Thanks Kittenmaster. After I posted, I thought, maybe a steamer could also be what we call a double boiler. I had the right idea.

Shedded suet is basically beef fat. It is made by grating the hard white fat which surrounds the kidneys - in this recipe it's used in place of butter or margerine. You can buy it in packets in the UK (there's also a vegetarian version), or you can get your butcher to prepare some.

A steamer is a container you use to cook food, normally by holding it above a saucepan of boiling water - the steam from the water cooks the food. They're sometimes made out of bamboo (in Chinese cooking).

Thanks, Kittenmaster! The recipe sounds really good but I'm a little confused by some of the words. I'm not up on the language in the UK. I have not heard of Shredded suet or what it meant by putting it in the steamer. Something like a slow cooker or crock pot here? or possibly the oven. Thanks again for your help. By the way, I love TDK. I look forward to it everyday.
