I don’t know which one I would grab and tummy smooch first. They are all too precious. I understand that one litter of kittens can have several daddies. That’s why there are so many colors in one litter.
I am Krazy for these Kits! What adorable bundles of FUZZ!
A beautiful bouquet of breath taking babies.
Gorgeous kitties.
Sale prices every day FUZZ
What adorable little bundles of fur. Like some of the other posters here, I would have to keep them all.
Foster families for kittens are the greatest!
Totally agree with you Mary. Foster families are the greatest!
Many times I had thought about it but I know I cold not give them up…
God Bless you and the adorable babes. I couldn’t even pick a fave, they are all squishable. Belly kisses all around please
I just looooovve this site and looking at all of the pics of the kitties. They just make my day but i’m with everyone else I couldn’t pick just one I would have to keep them all. What cuties
Cute little fuzzers! I would end up keeping them all..
Rainbow fuzz! I want to keep them all! They are soooo cute!!! They all have this look of adopt me, puleeeeze. I just want to pick them up and give them lots of kisses. Watch out Sylvester..I just may have to adopt another one.
I was thinking PARTY COLORS fuzz!!
A quartet of cute. And good evidence for what I said yesterday; For most [sane] people, adoption is an act of kindness. For the people on this board it would be torture - We could never let go. Are we a sad case or what??
I blame it on my abandonment issues! haha!
I blame it on the fact that I’m basically a pack rat and have a hard time throwing anything out
er, perhaps I should phrase that as “give anything away” instead of “throwing out”
yea, that’s what I should have said…
“A quartet of cute.” I’ve gotta remember that one! I’m always looking for inspired phrases for my writing. Mind if I “rip it off” sometime?
I think you just did??
No Michael, we are a case of hearts filled with love
That’s a great angle for a photograph! Love the little orange fuzz on the far right. It is the poofiest of them all.
Awww, so sweet! I foster too and miss having kittens in the house. My last foster have been adult kitties. Very sweet adult kitties, but it’s fun to have the babies in the house too!
Btw, if anyone is interested in submitting pix to Kat’s Cat of the Day, which is for adult kitties only, please click on my name.
I would like to submit a picture or two of my brother’s cat and my “sister” who has since crossed over the rainbow bridge.
All these kitties are adorable!!! What a variety of colors but equally cute!! SO SWEET!
I just finished reading the very, very kind words that were written about me on Friday—what a great thing to see on a Monday morning! Thank you so much Lynn in Pa, Miu, CatRancher, Karin in SF, Teresa in LO and Kittypaws! (and you all owe me some tissues!)
Glad we could make your day, Dee! It’s all so true. We all need kind words every now and then. This was your day!
I agree with Lynn. You are a ray of sunshine, Dee! When you enter a room, you brighten it up.
Heartfelt words!
So glad we made your day especially on a Monday. We wouldn’t say it if we didn’t mean it.
Dee, even the short time I’ve been on this site I can tell all the kind words are heartfelt and true.
God bless you for being a kitty foster home! I couldn’t do it ‘cuz I’d keep ‘em all!!!
**ASPCA SUCCESS STORY OF THE WEEK: FROM STARVING STRAY TO SNUGGLE PUSS**
Almost two years ago, Louise Alcott’s son took in an expectant stray cat who had been abandoned during the cold and wet spring weather. The feline, whom he named Sasha, promptly gave birth to eight kittens in his home. Sadly, seven of them died very soon after. Worried about the one remaining kitten, he called his mother for help.
“My son told me over the phone that he didn’t think Sasha had enough milk,” recalls Louise, who got in to her car and drove 110 miles from Bowling Green, KY, to Evansville, IN, to check on the newborn. “Sure enough, the last little female was starving and in bad shape.”
Louise and her son took the kitten to the local veterinarian, where she was diagnosed with an infected eye and starvation. Armed with kitten formula and a baby bottle, Louise fed the cat around the clock that night. “I drove home with her the next day,” says Louise, who promised her husband she would nurse the young kitten back to health and then give her away.
Well, Louise made good on half of her promise. As the kitten’s condition began to improve, Louise and her family grew to love the little cat, whom they named Sally. There was no choice but to welcome her as a permanent member of the family
“My other two cats hated Sally at first, but that soon changed,” reports Louise. Sally is currently in great health and has become the playful companion to her feline siblings. “She has also been spayed, and is a big cat now,” Louise says. It seems that the lone starving survivor of her litter has become a 14-pound snuggle puss!
Cool!
**MAKE YOUR PET FAMOUS AT SQUIDOO (AND HELP THE ASPCA WHILE YOU’RE AT IT!)**
Fifteen minutes of fame may be sufficient for humans, but our animal companions can easily handle celeb status for a lot longer than that. To let the world know how awesome your Scruffy and Fluffy are, you’re invited to enter the ASPCA Squidoo Lens Contest. If you’ve got a few minutes to spare, head to this popular website and set up your very own free webpage (what Squidoo calls a “lens”) all about your pet. You can include funny stories, cute pics, cool tricks, and Rover-recommended sites, treats and toys. Enter by February 2, and we’ll feature the top three winners on our website and in an upcoming ASPCA News Alert. Sounds fun? It is—and best of all, your pet’s page will help generate royalties that go straight to the ASPCA, every month, at no cost to you.

All the colors of the Rainbow fuzz!
These guys are absolutely adorable - love them while you have them! I hope my husband doesn’t see this site. I am partial to brown & black tigers. When I brought our 2nd one home - he asked me why I didn’t get a different color cat - I told him that different colors were extremely rare!

BARBARO R.I.P.
At least he isn’t in any more pain. His rest is well deserved.
So very sad. I really grew to love that horse. It doesn’t seem like he was given enough time to heal from his surgery on Saturday. But, of course, the vets know better than anyone else about this kind of injury. You were very loved, Barbaro.
I just read this on Yahoo. What sad news indeed! He gave it his best shot and his owners are to be commended for trying all they could do to restore some sort of comfortable life for him. Such a waste of incredible talent in Barbaro. He could have gone far. Rest in peace, my friend.
Wow, just last night they were saying that they weren’t going to euthanize the horse because the horse’s spirits were good and he was eating and drinking. His quality of life must have made them decide that the horse was in too much of pain. So sad! I know my Mom will be very disappointed as she is the horse person in my family.
I heard on CNN that his condition was extremely painful.
BARBARO R.I.P.
Oh that is so sad! Rest in Peach, Barbaro! You fought the good fight!
Rest in Peach? I meant Peace!
I started crying when I got that bulletin in my email. Barbaro RIP
poor horse. My boyfriend call to tell me. He knows how I am about animals, and his favorite is horses. My eyes have been tearing up ever since I got the news. Better than watching him suffer and fade away. Bless his owners for trying
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race….”
-Paul in II Timothy, Chapter 4, verse 7
Thanks for inspiring us all, Barbaro.
Poor brave animal. He must have been in real pain for a long time. It never stops amazing me how stowic some individuals and most animals are.
I’m truly saddened that a racehorse of such caliber had to be put down. He did fight a good fight. After the initial surgery, I really thought he’d be fine. The racing world sure lost a jem.
I’m glad there are 4 cuties to cheer me up today. I really like the white kitten with orange and grey.
What a beautiful rainbow 4-pack!!!!!! I could never foster. I would just have to keep them all! And these 4 would be especially difficult. Kudo’s to all the foster familes out there. You are special indeed!!
This cracked me up!
“Women complain about premenstrual syndrome, but I think of it as the only time of the month that I can be myself”.
-Roseanne
Very funny quote Dee! It is the only time of the month that we have a valid excuse to complain. Now if only men could share the pain. yeah right. LOL!
The men couldn’t handle the pain….
very cute kits…..I want them all….
“[She] gets her periods in reverse. Five days out of the month, she’s a decent human being.”
-The only thing worth remembering in the movie “Purple Rain”
Every month I look back at one week and say I’m sorry to the ones I love. I can’t believe what a B***** I am!
What a bunch of squishalicious babies! As always, I’d be totally unable to let these four out of my sight, let alone out of my house!! (I especially love the little calico in the middle….)
awww what a litter of sweetness, but I could never foster I would want to keep them all would break my heart to give them up. The little calico is my favorite, I have a calico i recused from an abusive home she now rules the house and is a total brat… steals everything she can carry off my desk but wouldnt change her for nothing. When I got her she was afraid of her own shadow now she chases it loves to play in the sunspot

How are you feeling, Susan in Ga? You are missed—and so is Chester. Thomas: where are you?
Lynn in PA: I loved your post on Friday–about how Bo galvanized our TDK community–very succinct.
Ivory Bill: your poems over the weekend have been great!
Men: In case you have not read our posts in the past, we all LOVE men who love cats! If you’re a guy, you should let it be known!
HI Dee, I have two Fuzzbutts of my own and would like to have more. Unfortunately I live in a studio apartment with limited space. so two is my limit.
That is why I enjoy coming here to TDK for my cute-fuzz fix.
Ted
Dee, I am getting back to handeling the pain etc. it usually doesn’t get me down but last week it did. It was also the thrid anniv. of having to give up Domino and Taffy so that didn’t help. I’ll try and be my joking jerky self from now on but thanks for asking. Still haven’t heard from Chester or Susie in Hillard.
Here is an article by Dave Barry (one of the funniest comedy writers, ever!) on Miami’s take on the Super Bowl behind held there this Sunday.
**Confuse the Midwesterners: Be on your best behavior**
BY DAVE BARRY
It’s here, South Florida — Super Bowl Roman Numeral 41, the biggest sporting event in the world, unless you include other parts of the world. Tens of thousands of visitors are coming to South Florida for the big game, and we hope they all enjoy — to quote our new tourism slogan — “Hospitality, But Without The Hospital.”
But to make that dream a reality, we, the citizens of South Florida, must be on our best behavior.
Q. What do you mean, “on our best behavior?”
A. I mean that, no matter how festive we are feeling, we should not shoot our guns into the air.
Q. What if Fidel dies?
A. That is different.
It’s very important that our visitors feel welcome, because they’re bringing tremendous economic benefits to our community in the form of money. According to the South Florida host committee’s official website, the economic impact of the Super Bowl here will be ”more than $350 million.” What does that mean, in layperson’s terms? It means the host committee has been smoking crack.
No, seriously, it means that we, as a community, are about to receive a ”financial shot in the arm” totaling more than $350 million, which will be spent as follows:
• The maitre d’ at Joe’s Stone Crab: $182 million;
• Lavish parties you cannot get into: $123 million;
• Strippers: $42 million;
• Prince: $3 million;
• Slightly increased attendance at Monkey Jungle caused by Super Bowl visitors who have mistaken it for a nightclub: $93.
So, OK, perhaps you, personally, will not benefit financially from the Super Bowl. But this is not just about money. This is about our image, as a community. Too many people still think of Miami as the crazy, violent place that was depicted in the old TV crime show Miami Vice. But Miami has come a long way since then, as reflected in the newer TV crime show CSI: Miami, not to mention the movie version of Miami Vice.
That’s why this week we all need to be ”goodwill ambassadors” for South Florida. Let’s welcome our Super Bowl visitors with open arms. Let’s kiss them on the lips while inserting a little goodwill tongue. Above all, let’s keep them out of trouble. Remember that many of this year’s Super Bowl visitors are coming from the Midwest, which is often called ”the nation’s heartland,” because it is covered with sleet. Midwesterners tend to be friendly, polite, honest and trusting, so down here they are dead meat. We need to keep an eye on them. If you see a visitor who looks confused, don’t hesitate to offer help:
YOU: Hello! I see you are from the Midwest.
VISITORS: Why, yes we are! How could you tell?
YOU: By your non-taut, yogurt-colored bodies. Do you need directions?
VISITORS: Yes, thanks! We want to go to the beach.
YOU: Like that?
VISITORS: Yes.
YOU: We have no beach.
See? By going a just little out of your way to help, you have averted what could have been an unfortunate situation. If we all do our part, we can make this Super Bowl a wonderful experience for our visitors, one that will rank up there with some of the unforgettable Super Bowls of the past, such as XXLVII, XCCXIX, XXVLXXI, VMCLKX, and
of course MMLVIXMXI.
Here at The Miami Herald we will be doing our part by publishing, every day, a minimum of 275 Super-Bowl-related articles (“Septic-Tank Pumpers Expecting Super Busy Weekend”). This is a big effort for us, so if you see an actual news event — say, a mushroom cloud rising over the Port of Miami — please do not call us, unless you have reason to believe it is a Super-Bowl-related mushroom cloud. Thank you.
NEED TICKETS FOR THE GAME? As you know, tickets for the Super Bowl are very hard to come by, but we have learned that a limited number of them are still available, at face value, from congressman Tom Tancredo of Colorado. Give him a call! This information must be true, because it is being printed in a newspaper.
When I lived in Florida (Countryside, Dee, remember?) we used to say “Florida has three sources of income: oranges, alligators, and tourists. They skin all three.”
HAHA! I lived there for 15 years and never heard that, but oh, it is sooo true!!
They are gorgeous. Maybe they are all different colors because they have all different fathers? I know Huddy has 3 littermates, 1 who looks like him and the other 2 that are tuxedo cats. Tazz (Huddy’s birth mama) had a tabby boyfriend and a tuxedo boyfriend. When I explained that this was entirely possible to my niece, she freaked out. LOL
The person who took this photo must have been spectacularly tall! haha!
Check out the video of the duck that won’t die! I love this duck!

**Prison Kicks Out Inmates’ Cats**
POSTED: 10:24 am PST January 29, 2007
WINDSOR, Vt. — The inmates have to stay, but the cats have to go.
The superintendent of Southeast State Correctional Facility — a women’s prison in Vermont — is paroling Ziggy, Marmalade, Smokey and Shane. That’s upset some inmates, who feed them and pay for their care.
The felines have been fixtures at the farm-turned-prison since the 1980s, helping keep the grounds mouse-free. However, the superintendent said they’re not really pets.
A director at the local humane society said caring for the cats taught inmates empathy, responsibility and compassion. She said taking them away is “insensitive.”
But there have been problems, too. Inmates have been scratched, and some are allergic or just don’t like them.
Recently, an inmate used a cigarette lighter to burn the fur off one.
Any inmate that is that violent shouldn’t be in a minimum security setting like a farm!! Get rid of the problem inmates, that farm is those cats’ home!!!!
I agree. What are those officials thinkings? The cats are not the problem.
That inmate who tried to burn the cat’s fur off should be locked up and the key thrown away. If someone is that sick they shouldn’t be in a minimum security facility. This makes me so mad!
kinda like getting rid of the loose cannon so mebbe the boat’ll stop rocking, while completely disregarding the fact that the rocking of the boat is what made the cannon loose in the first place?? My logic is sometimes influenced by the catnip, i must admit… But if you think about it…
Reminds me of a Lockup I was watching where they were talking to a murderer. Suddenly he stops and looks around and says ‘Well now THERE’s a killer’ and it was a little calico cat. LOL
That’s a shame - thoe inmates should get to keep the kitties. They’re such good therapy and so good at chasing away the blues.
Thanks, Evangeline!
**Dog Returns After 6-Year Absence**
POSTED: 10:43 am PST January 29, 2007
ST. LOUIS — Cujo was a frisky 7-year-old when he sneaked out of his owners’ yard in July 2000.
Now, thinner and grayer and with a tale that would be fascinating if only he could tell it, the golden retriever is back with the Barczewski family.
“It’s a miracle,” 41
