I *love* polydactyls!!! I have one now, a black and white tuxedo little boy named Ninja. I may have made a mistake in naming him that ’cause he just gets into *everything*!!! But he’s so cute and so sweet (and so smart) he knows how to get around me everytime! Give Sidney a kiss for me.

He is adorable! What a little ferret face. (That is a compliment–I love ferrets too.) Love the feet. Great photo, too.

Hey,don’t mind what number 6 said, they are probably very young and ignorant in the ways of THE CAT. He is absolutely adorable, toes and all! Love on him for me- I have 3 wonderful babies,3 of whom are rescues..thanks for the picture and good luck with Sidney! :-)

This is seriously one of the cutest kittens I have ever seen! Why the birth defect? Is it part raccoon?

Actually, polydactyls are increasingly common, especially among certain purebred cats. (Owner — is that a ragdoll kitten I see? Gorgeous.) Some of these polys use their extra front toes as a sort of opposable “thumb,” for gripping.

Looks like a snowshoe to me — ragdolls are longhaired. But I think it is a moggie actually. What you said about polydactyls being common among certain purebreds isn’t really true. It’s a disqualification in show standard, and reputable breeding weeds out mutations.

OH MY GOD….I think I’m in love! He does have a little ferret face! Forget the #6 post. Give him an extra dose of belly rubs for me! :)

Okay — someone did their math wrong….7+7=14 front toes, then 4+4= 8 back toes…so this cat has 22 toes, not 24. Unless the cat’s owner thinks that normal cat feet have five toes in back…

I have a poly cat as well. She is pure black and just adorable. I have a question though. Does anyone know of a web page that has information on poly cats giving birth? Midnight ( my poly) is giving birth as I type this :)
