Max

MaxWe adopted Max to be a companion to our Siamese, Lily. At first she was ambivalent about him, but she too, eventually gave in to his cuteness. Now they chase each other around the apartment, and snuggle the winter days away together.

Good morning everyone!
Kitten snatching is becoming an epidemic here :) OK Cheri but remember spotted tummy aka Max goes home today
OMG! Max looks so much like my Wally. Alas now he is a 17 lbs baby elephant masquerading as a cat. I hope Max is as much a love bug as my Wally. Oh, and when Cheri returns him would you kiss one or more of those spots for me, they are great kissy spots :)

I’m sorry, Catman, but I’m happy with the way the conversations are developing. This site is a place where people who like kittens can discuss whatever they feel like discussing - and this really shouldn’t affect your enjoyment of the pictures. If it does, we’ll all be sorry to lose you.

I’m really sorry that Catman feels the way he does about the direction of this site. I appreciate his right to make his observation.

My feelings are so very different. When we get together on TDK it is because of our mutual love of kittens. But, we are also here to get to know one another and share our thoughts and other interests. We are trying to get to know each other. Sometimes that leads to subjects not related to kittens.

I for one have found this site to be an important part of my day. I am 62 and live alone with 15 cats. Four years ago I was disabled due to being rear-ended by a careless driver just 4 months after moving to a new state. I never had time to become established here, so now I am mostly isolated. I lost everything that I worked for all my life, including my career. TDK has given me an outlet and I feel much better just knowing that there are wonderful, caring people out there who have many interests, including cooking.

Brandi Lee, thank you for caring. I moved to York from the Towson area. I worked at Ethan Allen on Loch Raven Blvd. until the accident.

I do get around enough to clean after all these kits. I know God sent them to me to make sure I got out of bed each day. I can do most things in moderation. I am slowly learning how to ignore the pain so I can function better.

As a nursing student, I caution you about “ignoring” the pain. I hope that you and your dr. have explored all options to control your pain and it’s just a matter of time before your body heals. Our bodies are miraculous and pain is their way of telling us something is wrong or going on. While I’m sure that the last thing you want is to see another doctor but pain should be taken seriously. Pain is what but my hubby back in the hospital after his surgery. His dr. didn’t properly suction the irrigating fluid and he had a huge mass of fluid and gas that could have been ‘ignored.’ I’ll get off my soap-box now. Prayers to you for your spirtitual and physical recovery. I hope that your kits are a constant source of comfort. I love how you see them as blessings…

Thank you Kittenmaster. We are a community of people who care about cats, and each other. This is one of the nicest sites on the web. Catman ought to start his own site, ‘misanthropists who like cat pictures’. everyone there could agree with him to only like the cats, not the people.

Thank you, Kittenmaster. I initially came to this site at the suggestion of a male co-worker who shares my interest (love) of cats. First a lurker and then a poster, I am thrilled to see the group grow from its 30 or posters to now topping 300! Wow! It’s harder for me now to keep up with all the conversations (since I am “working” hee-hee), but the growth and frienships and sharing are a joy to behold. The TDK has evolved into one of the kindest, funniest, and informative sites I have ever visited (and cutest, too). We’ve overcome trolls and some flaming with good humor, patience and perserverence. What a wonderful group of people — oldies and newbies– from such a cross-section of humanity that all share a love for kitties and generous hearts. LONG LIVE THE TDK! To me it represents the “good” and “humane” on the internet today. We’re gonna start a revolution…. *catrancher stands up and gives a air-high-five to Kittenmaster and TDKers, sits down, looks around, and eagerly begins work on a manifesto…”

I will say that I think the only ‘degregation’ of this site is coming from him and his obviously sexist, arrogant and ignorant attitude

Some days I felt the same way as Catman but the wonderful thing about the internet is that you have choices. You can choose to visit another site, start your own, or just turn it OFF! Lately, I have turned to TDK for both the kittens and the people. I have found some wonderful people, websites, tidbits, and support. I’m here so much it should be my homepage. I’m also not afraid to post things here because while we are friends, we are anonymous and non-judgemental. I hope that nothing changes. Every once in a while we get a ‘juicy’ topic such as this and this is why I come here and visit with y’all.

PS - for those of you in MD, we’re heading your way in the next few months, after hubby heals and starts chemo. His work has been VERY patient waiting for him but they needed him there back in December. We need a place to rent, pref. a house. Any help?

Yes, it IS the life…. Cats are so compassionate to us when we don’t feel well. They always seem to know!
I’m SO sorry your bum hurts so bad still. Awwww…. I was thinking of you and wondering how you are feeling after that nasty fall. Thanks for posting! (hugs) and kitty snuggles….

Hi Brandi Lee,
Sorry to hear about your fall. I hope you get to feeling better. Maybe Josephine will cuddle with you, along with the rest of your kitties. Take care.

Renee,
ZFunny thing they were all here for awhile, but they insist on going out to socialize with the big cats, Except Josie…..she is so funny, she smacks any and I mean any cat that come near her so I keep her in with me, seh and Isabella are under the covers……………Joshiphine will always be a special girl no matter how craby or persnickity she can be :)
She is scrawney and crabby but shes my baby :)

Brandi Lee, your Joshiphine sounds like my 18 year old Zasha. Scrawny in old age and crabby toward all except me.
Of course she was my spoiled sweetie and the only feline for over 15 years. But although she resents the 14 additions she was always cranky if she didn’t get her way. My son’s friends all called her Satan and that was in her heyday.

It’s funny how dogs and cats know the inside of folks better than other folks do, isn’t it?

Catman I am sorry that you do not approve of us or our chatter but for many of us this is just the way we want it. As long as Kittenmaster approves we would like to keep it this way. If you only want to see the kitten just look at the pic and be on your very important way. I have learned about kittens, I have gotten help with computer problems as I said, I am not a geek but a goof and yes, we do share recipes. We also care about each other if we have problems, illnesses or just having a blue day. In other words we have found a kind caring group of people that we enjoy sharing our lives with.

Awwww how sweet. Our Chad ~ all grey with a small white spot on his neck, lays on the floor on his back and I tell him he looks like an otter. So cute, and to trust so much to be able to lay like that…..

When our Cami lays on her back like that and rolls around we call her a sea otter. We saw a nature program on sea otters, they roll around in the seaweed to keep from drifting out to sea while napping. So that’s what we imagine our silly little kitty is doing.

Dear Kittenmaster:
I love the site, and the sweet folks who make it so lively. Thanks for hosting us!
