I am doing a bit better today thank you for asking. I went to the doctor this morning for the A1C blood work and I am on new pain pill that works well for diabetics. I had asked for Darvcett and he said that is three steps down from what I had been taking.

One of my current kitties is a silver-shaded American shorthair. I admit, I gave in and wanted one of these because they were just so beautiful and adorable, and a friend was breeding them to raise money for college. I am very glad to have my Hermes now, but the next time I’m in the market for kitties, I’ll go back to rescue cats. -All- of my previous kitties were rescue kitties. My first one really -was- a rescue, he was a stray one of my friends found, brought him to school, and I fell in love with the little fart. Had to bring him home, and he was my little boy for almost fifteen years. I don’t regret my purchase of Hermes, I supported a friend in need and she stopped breeding after Hermes’ litter, so I feel very special and very lucky to have my silver boy, because he was wanted before he was even conceived! I watched mommy kitty get bigger and bigger, and I was there when Hermes and his brothers were born. I watched them grow daily, and I had a chance to play with all of them when they were at their very cutest. Hermes has a step-sister, Tansey, who was adopted from Kalamazoo Animal Rescue. Tansey’s 14 and a muted tortie, Hermes is 3, and they play together wonderfully. So I have dark kitty hair for all my light clothing, and light kitty hair for all the dark clothing!

    Hi Rainingwolf,
Hope you are well today. My Max loved water, where the rest of my cats did not! He was a little ginger manx kitten, with the cutest little stubby tail, that my husband brought home to me, one day from work. Alas, he has since passed over to the Rainbow bridge, several years ago. He was such a lovebug. My hubby came home and said, I brought something for you, come upstairs and see it. I did and he put the cutest little kitten in my lap!

I was just wondering if that’s baseball or what as I know very little about sport - I can then look them up online. This is the only site i’ve ever posted on and one of the reasons I like it is that I find things out that wouldn’t otherwise come my way.

It’s called cowboy coffee cake because the cook with the chuckwagon could make it over a camp fire while out on the round-up. To make cowboy coffee, you just put some coffee grounds in a pan of water and let it cook for a little bit.

Yes, exactly. Sorry about that on the directions.

I’m not sure. I know the vinegar reacts with the baking soda to help with the rise, so maybe buttermilk with the vinegar would work.

All I can say is give it a shot and let me know how it turns out

You can use lemon juice too. Put in two tablespoons into the measuring cup and add milk to make the required amount. Let it sit for a few minutes to sour.

Sounds good, but I was hoping for a really cowboy (not a sport cowboy, a Roy Rogers type cowboy…well, okay, Roy Rogers wasn’t a REALLY cowboy either, but you know what I mean!) to enter into the recipe somewhere. Sigh. My hopes have been dashed. Cake still sounds wonderful, though. This recipe’s a keeper.

And as for Miss Bestest Kitten of 2007, she’s a darling. And I love the way her brothers are posing so photogenically on either side of her. I think the one on the left was voted Mr. Congeniality.

by putting the vinegar into your milk it turns it sour and ups the acidity. Good for helping the rise of the bread and also adding a tang to the coffee cake

    Hi, I’m Tiger and I’m a cat-aholic.

Now that being said, I have yet to hear of this breed, Turkish Van kitten. Precious and curious too! Kisses to your brood…

I just want to make my own observations about recent postings from Catman and AG. When someone makes a request to change the way things are posted here, let’s try to have some courtesty and politeness when addressing them. We are so quick to form a mob or posse and hunt these offenders down when all they did was post a modest and not uncommon request. I almost am ashamed by how vehemently we oppose someone coming in and posting their opinions. Heaven forbid they be opposite from the majority. I just hope that we don’t chase off some that don’t post but might now see TDK as some strange cat clique that doesn’t like new ideas or points of view. (((sigh))) I would hope that we welcome (even reluctantly) new members that might just be getting used to us all weirdos.

I think a few recipes sprinkled here and there are okay but not a dozen daily. I love the wallpaper tips though. Hopefully I won’t need to use them any time soon.

Yes it was, I didn’t know I had, one, but the second one was considered “moderate”, and scary. But the worse part was losing my beloved “puppy” TedEbear, just one month following my heartattacks. Here is the link to his story for anyone who wants to read it. He was so special! I started a diary on this page also, with a poem I wrote about his life.
