Mau and Lau

Location: Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, USA
Mau and LauMau and Lau are two orphaned babies from my mother’s farm. We have tried to adopt the babies out, but it is so hard when you get attached to them. They were just neutered last month. They may or may not be brother and sister, but they love each other for sure!

Thank you. Quazo is the biggest cuddler of them all and Misto (the smallest one) is the biggest trouble maker.

She went into Roo’s bathroom one time during the night to cause trouble and run, but when it was time for her to run (because Roo doesn’t like to leave the bathroom) instead of running out the door she ran behind the door and Roo trapped her there.

My wife and I were awoke to her crying for help and Roo was just sitting there looking at her like “I COULD kill you now….”

Gorgeous furry buddies you have Instinct! I really love your story and the very happy ending. I especially love the part about Quazo liking the bath so much that she submerged herself. I would have loved to have seen that! I haven’t had to bathe Sylvester yet since he is an indoor kitty but my husband seems to think Sylvester should have a bath anyways. I don’t think Sylvester would like having a bath.

The Euphrates also flows through Iraq. They are the boundaries for the tip of the “Fertile Crescent” (remember World History class?). They are also the only two boundaries for the Garden of Eden as described in the Bible that still exist.

Comment by MeezerMama
2007-02-21 18:27:32

that’s exactly right Ginny!
When Euphrates got in trouble (which was often) she would freeze and then go limp. First time she did it, we were scared. I gently picked her up and she peeked out at me with one eye and I knew it was a game to her. Each time after that I could bring her out of the “faint” by laying my hand on her side. She would just continue to play dead if my husband tried it though.

That is so funny, MeezerMama! My late Juliet was so defiant–I tried to get her off of countertops, etc by squirting her with the water bottle. Never worked! She would sit firmly planted on the countertop with her eyes SCRUNCHED up as tight as she could and not move an inch! My friends cracked up at this.

My sister also has a street kitty, whose moniker is Queenie. She’s a black kitty and so very sweet. Her visits used to be intermittent until sis and Mom (who I mentioned before doesn’t cotton to cats) began feeding her on a regular basis. Now, my sister taking an interest little Queenie’s welfare I can understand — but Mom?!?!?!?! I’m still trying to figure that out ** puzzled look on face **

My grandparents have a cat like that. My grandfather is a prickly old man and never took kindly to cats after one of my mom’s (who he especially loved) passed on. Well, he started feeding this cat that was one of their neighbour’s, and soon he named her and then started letting her in… etc. The neighbour said they could have her, I guess they had taken her in, but she didn’t shine to their other cat. My grandmother said the other day that, since it was cold, my grandpa let “Missy” sleep under the bed in their room!! ; )

I buy a small catnip plant at Petco in my area. I pick off the leaves and give them to my cat Sylvester. When he sees me get the plant down, he starts to meow like crazy. Nothing like a stoned kitty. He basically goes into hyper drive and has the “kitty zoomies”.

I do that too! Last summer when a friend and her children were visiting the toddler found the container of catnip and mice and dumped them all over the floor. Emma wallowed in the pile and huffed catnip until she started sneezing uncontrollably. She lay on top of the biggest pile so Gracie and Thierry couldn’t have any. Even though I got it all scaped/vacuumed up she wallowed the spot on the carpet for days!

I was napping on th couch the other day and Ferrule bonked me in the head with his sock that we use to play fetch. I posted a video of that a while back. He was even so thoughtful as to throughly wash the sock in his water bowl before bonking my sleeping head with it. Ah wet sock on the forehead, great way to wake up from an afternoon nap. I oblige him with a game of fetch though.

When I get home from work, the water dispenser has couple mice and pompoms floating around and the dry food dispenser has the infamous raccoon tail looking toy. My 16 year old tuxedo, just looks at me with discouragement in his eyes, asking me “and we have the other 2 around because???” Never a dull moment and I wouldn’t trade it for nothing!!!

I have a tuxedo also and every time he is a brat I threaten to get another kitty. He is a year and half old. He likes to leave his squishy balls in his waterbowl. Sylvester also loves to play fetch and will bring you the ball and headbonk you till you pick it up to throw it. He then tears after the ball and brings it back. He is alot of fun.

My tuxido, dutchess, was fetching a small pink plastic slinky (she found it and brought it too me). When she was bringing it back it was distended like an elephants trunk and bouncing with her steps. I was on the floor laughing out loud.

LOL…I thought my goofballs were the only ones who put their toys in the food bowl!! The (now dearly departed) stuffed rhino used to end up there often…poor kits are inconsolable at the loss of their favorite toy, but it was more hole than fabric…
