Hi all, I miss getting on here during the week but i do check the kitten pics in the evenings. I look forward to the weekend mornings so I can be here. Wicket is a beautiful kitten so glad she has a forever home. I did want to comment on some of the things discussed here during the week, I too disagree with declawing, there are many options. With a dog I have the vet gave me a mild tranqulizer that I gave before cliping toenails that might be another option. And give them choice of things to sratch on. While getting recycle stuff ready one day Evan started scratching on an old phone book so I gave him treats every time he would do that now he does just about all his scratching on “his” phone book yea it make a little bit of a mess but its worth it. a squirt bottle for negitive reinforcement of bad behaviors and treats for reinforcement of good behavior. and if it means you have to keep things such as jackets hung in the cloest so be it. Pets are not disposible if you take a animal it is for life you must learn to acept the behavior or train to change it. Ok I’ll quit, and get off my soapbox

I hope this isn’t double information, but it’s something I feel that all pet owners should know. There has been a massive recall on many kinds of wet pet food, both cat and dog varieties. It is due to 10 deaths and many illnesses associated with the food. To access the site with information, click on my name! They posted the specific kinds of food this morning, and you can link that through the site I’ve sent you to.
Thank you Amy Lou for posting this. I was wondering when they would let us know which brands. Thank goodness Whiskas & 9 Lives are not listed because thats what I use. It’s really getting scary to purchase food because of all these recalls. Sure hope they find the cause.

Thanks so much for the info. That is quite a long list of pet foods for recall. I can see the cheaper brands of pet food being on the list but I am very surprised that Nutro products are listed.
The recalled pet foods are causing kidney function problems. Please watch your kits drinking habits and bathroom habits. If these habits are not normal please let your vet know and tell them what food your kit is eating. If your kit needs to go to the vet bring the food package along so the vet can check it out.

I have heard that Nutro refuses to give nutrition information because they change their product constantly, looking for ways to use cheaper and cheaper products all the time to cut their price of manufacturing…Be careful !!!
Hey there everybody,
I just figured that I would give you all a quick update on Bo. His leg looks absolutely incredible, the hair is growing back and the vet didn’t think that it ever would. I’ve put new pictures of him up on his catster page, I think you all will be amazed by the difference in his leg. We are still trying to find a home for Bo locally, but there is someone who has told us that she would love to have him if we can’t find a home for him here first. But he is gaining weight and is very, very healthy and ready to go to a new home. Here’s his catster page link again: http://www.catster.com/cats/458258
He’s very jealous of my 2 week old foster kittens though, he gets very worried when they cry though, it’s adorable. He is more lovey then ever now, he likes to sleep on my back at night, or under the covers. Thanks again everybody for all of your help, it still amazes me how kind all of you have been.

I saw Bo the other day and was thinking just how great he was looking. I can’t believe he has been so hard to place. He is such a wonderful boy. We’ll keep praying that he finds his furever home. Bo is soooo beautiful. This is the first time I’ve seen him and the first time I’ve checked out Catster. I know I will go there again. So many wonderful cats. I’m in love with Max, Uno and Baby Bruce. If only there were some kitties that would stay that tiny as adults. Total cuteness overload!!!!

FondaHonda I am looking for something lerical as I am strarting school 4-23 for an associates in business admin. It also sounds like you are a teacher. What district do you teach in? i went to school and guaduated from BISD.
Sorry.. I meant clerical. I am used to my computer at work not home. Th ekeyboards are set up differently.

Oh Wicket, just the cute face I needed to see after that catle call of a recruitment fair (for teachers). My feet are sore, my back hurts from standing in lines and my face I think I spranged my smile. But, you still brought a smile to my face and a warmth to my tired limbs.

I had a surprise Friday morning when I got up at 4am to get ready for work!! My 2 kitties had an early St. Paddy’s celebration and got into their container of catnip(that I thought I had put away, but didn’t) and proceeded to scatter it over EVERY inch of our white living room carpet! YIKES!!!! I am now the “catnip nazi”..”No more catnip for you! Next!!!” LOL
