Sir Chester Plumpington
Location: Park Forest, Illinois, USA
The day that we brought Chester home, he fell off our end table and brought a picture frame down with him. It hit him in the eye, and for the first few weeks we had to give him eye drops that dilated his one pupil. The ordeal did not make him less of a lover, however. He is a cuddle fiend.

Pretty as a picture fuzz
Beyond darling! Of the six cats I have mothered over the years, I only ever had one kitten, but they are all special & charming. Recently my 2 elderly females passed of natural causes & am now down to 3 males ~ the tabby kitten ~ now 16 years and 2 Main Coon cat brothers ~ ages 9. All of my cats were rescued, and it appears Sir Chet has been too. Thanks!
Aww what a cutie..!! I could snuggle with em alll day and nite!
EEEEEEEKKKKKK!!! Soooooooo very cute!!
aww, he looks like an alien with that eye
It makes my eyes water just lookin’ at him.
What a sweetie. Thankfully he is okay now he looks like Marty Feldman on one side.
Or David Bowie.
Ziggy Stardust FUZZ
Hi Susan in GA,
Hope you had a nice birthday yesterday. I wished you a happy birthday late yesterday, sorry I didn’t do it sooner.
Thank you Renee I didn’t see the comment. I spent the day with my brother and sister-in-law and checked TDK when I came home in the evening.
Hi Susan how are you? Done with all the birthdays and anniversaries yet?
LOL
Yes, they don’t start up again until April!
OUCH!!! Thankfully he was alright and din’t lose anything! What a cutie! I love the little black ones. OK I love them all…
I love them all, too. If I could have more cats, I definitely would.
Amen
What a cutie! glad he is ok now…my feline buddy is too polite to get on tables and countertops! Lucky me LOL.
Mine use to not get on tables and counters, then I got married and my wifes cats taught them all the bad habits I had kept them from.
Another good reason for me to stay single
Did they really stay off or only stay off when you were home? I had a glass top table. My cats were never on it while I was home but there were always paw prints on it. Figured they laid on it all day till I put the key in the lock then the kitties made a dash for the couch and put on their innocent face. I installed a garden window in the kitchen, knew when it was installed the days of keeping the cats off the kitchen counters were over since they love to lay in that window.
I think they stayed off. I taught them to stay out of the kitchen (because I would rather not trip over a cat while holding a sharp knife) and I never had a problem with them.
Got married, now I turn around and one of them is right behind me with this look of “Oh - um- HI! Am I not supposed to be in here?? Gee, I wasn’t sure”
And then they run like H*** (as if I beat them or something)…. little brats
That is so funny!
i work at home so he doesnt get the chance to have an alter ego LOL….he is so polite he won’t even pull open a door that is slightly open…all this from a cat born wild in my basement who stayed with his feral mom til she just stopped having anything to do with him.
You know, having cats on the countertops promotes tidiness and cleanliness. I have to wash everything down before I make anything…
Ha! I say and do the same thing.
…but cat hair adds fiber! :^)
Wait, that thats my line. You also forgot it adds flavor as well.
How can you beat that - fibre and flair - not to mention
color. I do inspect for additions when I have a plate on the coffee table - hissing at them sometimes keeps mine from getting to close to my snacks.
I think that when kitties move in together, it takes about ten minutes for them to teach each other their bad habits….
You’re right. Sebastian wasn’t declawed until he was almost 3 because he never bothered clawing anything up until I lived with my brother & his evil cat psycho Sapphire taught him how to destroy living room furniture. Sebastian had never destroyed anything in his life.
Amen to that, we had W.H. broke of all his bad habits until Lady moved in and now you’d think he was back to his kittenhood again…she has taught him some really bad habits….like walking all over the diningroom table…which he never did even when he was a kitten….and begging for food…we had him broke of that and here she comes along and has him doing it all over again….especially to me….if I sit on the couch to watch tv while I’m eating I feel like I’m being mobbed….they’re a couple of vultures…lol
Kathy you aint seen nutting LOL you try 26 cats and 7 dogs………..Im lucky to get a meal in this house LOL
Ive even named one female a velosa rappter LOL she could get it off your fork before you could get it to your mouth…….I now lock myself in my office to have food of any kind LOL
This is my first post - i’m usually just a lurker, but I can’t resist the little black kitties! He’s just adorable - an I bet his eye issue didn’t slow him down a bit!
Welcome Naomi, glad you posted
Welcome ! Glad to have you join us.
hi, Naomi…the black ones are sooo adorable, aren’t they? So what part of the planet do you hail from?
I’M IN California - I’ve got 2 black ones of my own, which may be why I’m partial. Thanks for the welcome!
If you don’t mind my asking where in california. I’m in Morgan Hill. Welcome. You will find all the TKD’ers are wonderfully friendly. Plus always good for a laugh. These ladies and gents can really teach you some naughty tricks or thoughts. LOL
Oh my!! I call Huddy ‘plumpington’ too.
This little guy is gorgeous and a great backpack accessory. Come on Sir Chester.
Hope everyone (and their babies) is well today.
Huddy, can I borrow him? He looks like my kitten, Spook, and she needs a young friend to play with.
Sorry, I meant to write Huddy’s Mama.
No, you can ask Huddy. We all know that Huddy’s Mama is just his servant anyway
A servant with a black belt and a pitchfork….
Ah yes, we are ALL willing servants of our cats.
Nope! I’m the boss and the furs all fear me! (she says as she sits on a stool while they sprawl all over the couch and loveseat)…
The other night I was actually sitting on the floor while my 3 took over my chair and ottoman. I kept wondering what was wrong with that picture.
That’s OK, I went to bed last night and had to make do with about 2″ of matress area because Roo wanted to sleep in the middle of the bed and Misto wanted to sleep at my head.
It all comes down to this: who goes to work all day and who stays home and sleeps all day?
Bed? I have a califonia King size and yet in the morning I feel like a pretzal and think I need to employ a chiropractor full time as they all think my side of the bed is thiers and yet hubby sleeps peacfully thru the night…………..I woke up last night no covers, and I tryed to roll over to much grumbling by the fuzzbutts hmmmmmmmmmmm…………
You can borrow him for a little while. Sharing is caring.
No Pitchfork today Huddy’s mama. I look forward to your verbal sparring. lol ;o)
Soooooooo cute!!!!! He looks so inocent, the look almost says where’s my next empty lap to curl up & take a snooze. With a loud purr for you of course.
Ooh, what a little dear! Cute name, fuzzy face, what’s not to love?
I will have a soft and warm fleece bankie for the little Knight when he’s out of the backpacks!
Definitely a darling….. Brought a smile to my face!!
Happy First Full day of Spring!!!
The little Sir is a wondrous ebony fluff ball for sure! How blessed he is to have people who love him and care for him! All little kitties should have families. I hope you will have his playful companionship–albeit with no more mishaps!–for many, many healthy, happy years.
He looks like he’s looking back at that same frame.. “I dare you to try that again!”
Oh his poor little eye. He is absolutely adorable!
Oh Sir Chester
Liked to pester
The things kept on end tables
But Oh My!
A frame in the Eye!
And the story becomes a fable
lol so very creative…. keep ‘em coming MeezerMama! You are certainly giving Ivory Bill a run for the money with the poetry
Sometimes it is time

To compose a rhyme
But we can never have our fill
Of the schtick
And limericks
Composed by Ivory Bill
To paraphrase Beretta (if you are old enough to remember the show), “Don’t do the rhyme if you can’t do the time”.
I remember Beretta
But in syndication
Don’t have a vendetta
Rhyming without provocation
You are giving Ivory Bill a run for his money!
What a precious baby! Great photo.
Aww sweetie!
I can’t imagine what the world would look like with one dilated eye! What a cutie pie!
Probably the way my world looks at the moment trying to adjust to mono vision with contact lenses — blurry and hard to see anything… lol
Depth perception is highly overrated. Although, it’s hard to tell by how much.
I’ve been walking around with one contact lens for over 3 years. I’m used to it now, but it was sorta hinky at first. lol
OOhhhhhhhh that’s bad! I love it!
:-))))) Now that is too funny!
Couldn’t resist the bad joke there
I thought it was hilarous… and you ’said’ it with such a straight face !
to funny meezer…………I am blind as a bat also I usually wake up by feel………….who is standing on my face now………
I can empathize! I went to the eye doctor yesterday and of course they had to dilate my eyes. NEVER try to go to the grocery and try to pick out produce with dialated eyes. I couldn’t tell the good broccoli from the over the hill broccili! Later in the afternoon one eye was fine and the other still wonky!
Chester looks so soft and fluffy. Glad he wasn’t permanently injured
Since I have given up all of my vices, except for coffee, I like having my eyes dilated, because it kind of feels like I’m tripping. I also love wearing the really large old person dark glasses film over my regular glasses when I leave the doctor’s office. I think it’s hilarious!
This is what age has brought me to - so sad!
Royalty suites this little angle. Can picture him with a crown and spector. Now, royal slaves, fetch my catnip tootsweet!!
Happy Spring all TDK’ers. Hope it’s a nice one.
You can just see the look of curiosity in his eyes. He’s plotting what kind of trouble he wants to get into next.
Kisses to you, little Chester!
How cute his this cuddlemeister, huggypoohbear?!
Thanks for sharing his picture.
How sweet he is! (Jackie Gleason voice)
I had a kitten that ran off the front porch on her first venture outside. She hurt her sholders and walked like a bulldog for the rest of her life. She had such a heavy footfall that she gained the name Thumper. You can never be too careful
Hello everyone, I hope all is well with everyone. Since I am so busy with school and work, can somebody please squeeze this little black piece of fuzz for me??
Hi Jen–
You’ve been frantically busy this whole week! Hope that you can find some “down-time” soon. I’m glad that your visiting here, though. This site really ‘heals one’s soul’ so to speak. Take care.
Chester is a fuzzy boy
Looks so meek and mild
The proof is there, it’s been said
That he has a side that’s wild.
Pretty silky fellow! What a fluff-ball!
Boo-Boo eye’d baby
I’ll bet his little mishap hasn’t kept him from getting into mischief!
He’s adorable…
LOL - Such a big, important name for such a cute, little ball of fluff!
What a sweet ball of fluff with a great name!
From Joke of the Day:
An APB on God
A couple had two little boys, ages eight and ten, who were excessively mischievous.
The two were always getting into trouble and their parents could be confident that if any mischief occurred in their town, their two young sons were involved in some capacity. The parents were at their wit’s end as to what to do about their sons’ behavior.
The parents had heard that a clergyman in town had been successful in disciplining children in the past, so they contacted him, and he agreed to give it his best shot. He asked to see the boys individually, so the eight-year-old was sent to meet with him first. The clergyman sat the boy down and asked him sternly, “Where is God?”
The boy made no response, so the clergyman repeated the question in an even sterner tone, “Where is God?”
Again the boy made no attempt to answer, so the clergyman raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy’s face, “WHERE IS GOD?”
At that, the boy bolted from the room, ran directly home, and slammed himself in his closet. His older brother followed him into the closet and said, “What happened?”
The younger brother replied, “We are in BIG trouble this time. God is missing and they think we did it!”
The Sunday school teacher asked her class one day, “Where is God?”
Mary said he is in the backyard, because of the birds and the trees.
Joey said “He’s everywhere”
Nancy said “He’s on the highway, protecting drivers”
Finally, little Billy said “You all are wrong. He’s in the bathroom at my house.”
The teacher asked Billy to clarify.
Billy said “I have four sisters and one bathroom. Every morning, my Dad bangs on the door saying “Good God, how much longer are you going to be in there?”
this has been my favorite joke forever. Love it! Thank you!!
What an adorable kitty!
Hey everyone…such a cutie!!
Well my very pregnant sister has finally set a date to get induced..This Friday at 7:30pm (granted that they have a bed for her)…do not know if it’s going to be a girl or boy but no matter…I’ll either be an Auntie with 6 nephews, and 3 nieces…or 5 nephews and 4 nieces…either way i am finding the perfect backpack to borrow a kitty with ..this baby is going to be loovvee kitties when i’m through hehehe
Congrats, Auntie!
You can never indoctrinate a baby to serve our Kittymasters too soon.
So true, Ginny. I have 20+ nieces and nephews and they ALL love and have cats. One of my nephews even has a room in his house that’s just for his kitties.
Congrats!! Always a blessing little ones (kitty or human) remind us that the world is full of possabilities!
Sweet spot of treacle this little one is. I’m glad he is okay after his tumble and crash. Sir Chester P does have the Marty Feldman look. He’s just so adorable.
Sending Big Purrs, positive thoughts and hugs to all.
Have a great day TDKers.
What an absolute doll! somehow the dilated eye makes him all the more lovable! I always tend to gravitate towards animals that are less than perfect and love them even more!
Sweet Sir Chester! I love the name, and I’m sure he’ll grow into it although it’s bigger than he is right now! Happy spring, everyone!
I’m sure chester p does not look like that know right?Anyway he’s so squishable who would care.If Raingwolf gets on here would like to know where in oregon are you and are you a native american? If so what tribe?I’m 1/4 Klamath Falls tribe.BTW I just had exploritory surgery yesterday for possible cancer in either my kidneys or bladder,as I have been bleeding and throwing big blood clots when I go #1,they won’t get results back till 2 weeks from now,so keep up the prayers that no cancer is found.Thanx
Positive thoughts and healing light coming your way. I would think that if they found anything malignant you would hear in less than 2 weeks !
Sending prayers to Elaine. Hang in there.
Blessings on you Elaine. I hope nothing bad is found but if it is you will be strong and face it with God’s help and ours.
Healing thoughts out to you, Elaine. Hope nothing serious is found. Wishing you the best!
I’ll be praying for you, Elaine.
Elaine, just let me know hon when you need someone to come care for your fuzzbutts………….and of course lend support for you !!! I am very serious about this !!
Prayers and positive energy from me too
Elaine -
Positive energy and love and healing to you. Hope all of your results are great. If not, you have at least one support system pulling for you the TDKers!
i meant now
Hi, Elaine–I’m sending prayers your way. We are nearly neighbors, since I’m in Portland, OR, too. If you need to talk just send me an email and I’ll send you my phone number. I know how scary it can be waiting. I had a breast lump last year and had to wait 2 weeks to find out the biopsy results also. Not fun!
JCL
Elaine, I think that you and many others know that this is a compassionate group of people here on TDK. When one is down the others race in to help pick him or her up. We’ll pray in agreement with you for healing, comfort and peace of mind in your life. Don’t let satan put fear in your heart, for he’s old and frail, and quite frankly, he knows his future doesn’t look good, which is why he wants to bring down as many people with him as he can. After all — he is the one who tempts people to do bad things to cats, dogs and even other people.
So, Elaine, from down here in South Louisiana, and from many other locations throughout the world, we’ll be praying for you!
GOD Bless You!
The CatWrangler from Louisiana
Elaine, I don’t live that far from you. Just over the West Hills In Beaverton. I have gone through the Big C scare myself. (cancer of the left tonsil of all places)
As the others have said, a positive attitude and a good support system and LOTS of Prayer can work wonders.
After a year I am cancer free and feel better than I have felt in years. Loosing 60 pounds will do that for you.
Medical science can work wonders.
Stormy and Chessie send their head butts and purrs too
Ted
Ok as of today I am Queen Cat lady
