Sir Chester Plumpington

Location: Park Forest, Illinois, USA

ChesterThe day that we brought Chester home, he fell off our end table and brought a picture frame down with him. It hit him in the eye, and for the first few weeks we had to give him eye drops that dilated his one pupil. The ordeal did not make him less of a lover, however. He is a cuddle fiend.

Beyond darling! Of the six cats I have mothered over the years, I only ever had one kitten, but they are all special & charming. Recently my 2 elderly females passed of natural causes & am now down to 3 males ~ the tabby kitten ~ now 16 years and 2 Main Coon cat brothers ~ ages 9. All of my cats were rescued, and it appears Sir Chet has been too. Thanks!

Did they really stay off or only stay off when you were home? I had a glass top table. My cats were never on it while I was home but there were always paw prints on it. Figured they laid on it all day till I put the key in the lock then the kitties made a dash for the couch and put on their innocent face. I installed a garden window in the kitchen, knew when it was installed the days of keeping the cats off the kitchen counters were over since they love to lay in that window.

I think they stayed off. I taught them to stay out of the kitchen (because I would rather not trip over a cat while holding a sharp knife) and I never had a problem with them.

Got married, now I turn around and one of them is right behind me with this look of “Oh - um- HI! Am I not supposed to be in here?? Gee, I wasn’t sure”

And then they run like H*** (as if I beat them or something)…. little brats :)

I can empathize! I went to the eye doctor yesterday and of course they had to dilate my eyes. NEVER try to go to the grocery and try to pick out produce with dialated eyes. I couldn’t tell the good broccoli from the over the hill broccili! Later in the afternoon one eye was fine and the other still wonky!

Since I have given up all of my vices, except for coffee, I like having my eyes dilated, because it kind of feels like I’m tripping. I also love wearing the really large old person dark glasses film over my regular glasses when I leave the doctor’s office. I think it’s hilarious!

From Joke of the Day:

An APB on God

A couple had two little boys, ages eight and ten, who were excessively mischievous.
The two were always getting into trouble and their parents could be confident that if any mischief occurred in their town, their two young sons were involved in some capacity. The parents were at their wit’s end as to what to do about their sons’ behavior.

The parents had heard that a clergyman in town had been successful in disciplining children in the past, so they contacted him, and he agreed to give it his best shot. He asked to see the boys individually, so the eight-year-old was sent to meet with him first. The clergyman sat the boy down and asked him sternly, “Where is God?”

The boy made no response, so the clergyman repeated the question in an even sterner tone, “Where is God?”

Again the boy made no attempt to answer, so the clergyman raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy’s face, “WHERE IS GOD?”

At that, the boy bolted from the room, ran directly home, and slammed himself in his closet. His older brother followed him into the closet and said, “What happened?”

The younger brother replied, “We are in BIG trouble this time. God is missing and they think we did it!”

The Sunday school teacher asked her class one day, “Where is God?”

Mary said he is in the backyard, because of the birds and the trees.

Joey said “He’s everywhere”

Nancy said “He’s on the highway, protecting drivers”

Finally, little Billy said “You all are wrong. He’s in the bathroom at my house.”
The teacher asked Billy to clarify.
Billy said “I have four sisters and one bathroom. Every morning, my Dad bangs on the door saying “Good God, how much longer are you going to be in there?”

Elaine, I think that you and many others know that this is a compassionate group of people here on TDK. When one is down the others race in to help pick him or her up. We’ll pray in agreement with you for healing, comfort and peace of mind in your life. Don’t let satan put fear in your heart, for he’s old and frail, and quite frankly, he knows his future doesn’t look good, which is why he wants to bring down as many people with him as he can. After all — he is the one who tempts people to do bad things to cats, dogs and even other people.

So, Elaine, from down here in South Louisiana, and from many other locations throughout the world, we’ll be praying for you!

GOD Bless You!
The CatWrangler from Louisiana

As the others have said, a positive attitude and a good support system and LOTS of Prayer can work wonders.

After a year I am cancer free and feel better than I have felt in years. Loosing 60 pounds will do that for you.

Medical science can work wonders.
