Pootie
Location: Waldwick, New Jersey, USA
This is my baby Pootie. My husband found her wandering around a Petco parking lot. She was only about two weeks old at the time and she had scabs and dirt all over her. He gave her to me and I cried. Now she spends her days in the sun sleeping away on any random thing she can find, even me!

Awww she’s so sweet
how sweet AND CUTE ENJOY HER OR HIM
yes, Pootie. It’s a couch for you to shred! (scratches behind ears and under chin) Good morning TDK’ers!
a sweet patootie!
Wasn’t she smart, hanging around near a Petco! So great of your husband to bring her to you. God bless her — and you.
Petco–where the pets go (and those who want to be pets)!
Bully for you, Pootie! And your “staff,” too!
Two weeks old and on her own, poor mite! I’m so glad you rescued her from a horrible existence & death. What a dear little angel she is!!!
Her eyes match the couch perfectly!
Hubby did good. Pootie is a sweetie. Thank you for taking in this lil angel. Give her smoochies and cuddles for me.
Have a great day TDKers!!
Cutie Pootie Fuzz.
are you sure that kitten did’t belong to someone? maybe someone thinks there cute kitten got stolen not saying you stole her but did you check at the locle pound to see if it has a chip? I know because I work at a pound But she is still cute and I know why you like her
God Bless
Diane
but if shes not someones im glad you took her in
Unlikely, Diane, because she was 2 weeks old at the time. Kitens aren’t chipped that young.
Even if it did belong to someone it had scabs and was dirty. It doesnt sound like it was in good shape or being taken care of well. Bless you for saving this kitten.
what responsible pet owner would let a 3 wk. old kitten get outside,,,at that age they are still suckling, never to venture far from mommy. hence, i doubt there was an owner. and if there had been one they have no business having pets.
What a sweet little wide eyed angel!! Good job Hubby!!
I’m going to borrow her for a little bit… bring her back soon Huddy’s Mama!! (no pitchforks please!! LOL) Crummy day, need a snuggle…
*Puts the beautiful Pootie in her backpack*
The pitchfork is packed away from my trip to Wrestlemania this weekend.
Aw nuts, I was going to steal the kitten for my sister. Her apt was busted into… she needs something fuzzy to cuddle.
There was a Wrestlemania event thingie at the mall this weekend. It was crazy full of people.
I’m sorry about your sister’s apartment.
I’ll be one of those crazy people by about noon on Saturday. lol
When my apartment was broken into about 15 years ago, they stole all my Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen CD’s and my Disney videocassettes, but left behind my director’s cut of Cecil B. DeMille’s “The Ten Commandments.”
Go figure.
I believe it. If they’da been following the Ten Commandments, they’da never broken in in the firsst place. Thieves suck.
When my car was stolen about 15 years ago, they stole my “Jeopardy” game that was in the back seat! haha!
Her kitten at least hid. Her pet snake was stolen along with a computer, video games, and her Invader Zim toys. Who steals someone’s pet?
What was funny about the even is the line surrounded the Easter Bunny. I was hoping they’d combine to two… Easter bunny wrestling, but no….
Easter Bunny Wrestling? Better not Vince McMahon hear you say that. He’ll try it.
Didja hear about the religious moths?
They gave up their woolen for Lent!
Lent–lint–get it?
I got a million of ‘em. but I never said they were good!
I want to see Easter Bunny wrestling. in fact, I’d pay to see it, I would.
Yes, I’ve had three cups of coffee and a bag of M&Ms…. So?
Was that crazy full of people or full of crazy people? Now Huddy’s Mama put that pitchfork down I was just kidding (yeah right)
Can we hope the snake is deadly? Thankfully your sister was not home at the time it could of been alot worse if she was.
The snake wasn’t deadly. I forget want kind it was, but she said it was a gentle laid back snake. Professor Snuggles is his name… best snake name ever.
Now that is a special husband! And a special kitty. What a cutie!
What a wonderful thing to happen for a sweet looking little baby. Your husband definitely did a good thing.
she’s like a little puff of smoke! so cute!
Pootie Tang FUZZ! Hello, everyone, I’M BACK!
T
How are you doing T? Glad you are back.
Hola T, como esta?
muy bien, gracias, Instinct.
T
p.s.: mas cervesa, muy fria, por favor!
Awwww, mischief FUZZ!! She sure looks like she’s up to something!
Wooowooowoooo, c’mere you little darling, you need wuzzling and love! How ironic, found wandering in a pet store parking lot! Little dear, she knew where the target-rich kittyparent environment was! And she managed to wrap your hubby around her wee tail. Lucky you!
Maybe it was a marketing scheme by Petco to increase its sales of cat supplies!
*c’mon folks, I’m being VERY facetious here!*
**”Runningman” makes it into record books at last**
More than three years after he finished an epic journey across six continents, Briton Robert Garside has been officially recognised as the first person to run around the world.
Garside, 40, who during his quest called himself the Runningman, on Monday received the approval of Guinness World Records for a 30,000-mile (48,000-km) six-year trek.
“It feels very, very good indeed,” Garside told Reuters shortly after hearing the news.
“I’m really happy about this, this run cost me everything,” said the former London policeman who was jailed in China, shot at in Russia and chased by armed men in Mexico and Panama during the mega jog which ended in New Delhi in 2003.
The Guinness verdict was a major vindication for Garside, who has been dogged by accusations of cheating by endurance runners sceptical about a man who claimed to have run through jungles and across deserts with no support team.
Others accused him of embellishing his exploits and of skipping whole sections of the run, something Garside denies.
Garside, who is planning a book and a film of his exploits, kept meticulous records, including eyewitness statements and more than 300 hours of video footage which Guinness used to authenticate the run.
“It’s been a long process, but it was very well documented and it has now been recognised officially as the first fully authenticated run around the world,” said a spokeswoman for Guinness World Records.
Garside, who described the run as “just like going for a jog every day and not going back home” said it took him two years to recover physically and mentally from his exertions.
Garside, who met his future wife while running through Venezuela in 2000, said one of the hardest moments came in the Himalayas. “It was very cold and I was lonely and it’s difficult to find motivation at times like that.”
“But it all finally paid off and I’ll be running over to Guinness tomorrow to collect my certificate,” he said.
She looks so fluffy, and soft, and sweet! I’m melting…
Sweet little parking lot fuzzball critter!
That’s either one small kitty or one big furball! Poot!
So tiny!!
Awwwwwwwwww….what a sweetie! And what a lovely man for taking her home!
Pootie is so precious. Thank God your husband was in the right place at the right time, he saved her life. I can imagine you did cry when you saw how much she had suffered in such a short time. I’m sure you are now making up for it by giving her a life filled with love and TLC.
Little fuzz lost was found..bless her little fuzzy heart……..
Look at that tummy just begging to be nuzzled! So very sweet… and ready to pounce!
Adorable little girl with baby blue eyes. I’m so happy that you rescued her, she looks so very beautiful and sweet and really soft too.
Oh, WHO in the world could abandon a little two week old kitten? ? ? I’m so happy you rescued that dear little angel! She’s so pretty and I’m sure you love her very, very much. I hope you will have many, many happy years with this little darling.
Cutie Tootie Pootie - she’s a doll! Such big eyes on that little girl.
What a lovely, bright eyed little lady! God bless your hubby for scooping her up for you and giving her a furr-ever home! I can tell she is well loved!
Blessings to all of you TDK-ers for the kind words yesterday on the passing of my horse. I’m back at work today whether I want to be or not. I look like I’ve been on a 4-day bender, but I’m here!!!
Renee, so sorry about your horse - too young. Hang in there…
I just heard. I’m sorry about the loss of someone close to your heart.
Renee,
I am So sorry about the loss of your horse. I lost my horse from a twisted intestine in January when it was 10 degrees out. My precious Jami was such a love and Oh, how I adored her! I had to walk her and walk her, but she was so sick. I hope and pray our pets are in Heaven waiting for us as I want to see her and ride her again. My heart just breaks for you… I am so sorry…… Blessings and hugs to you!
Precious! Precious! Absolutely Precious! What more can be said?!?
She was only two weeks old when found? How sad. She looks very content and warm and safe and well-fed in this photo–the way every animal should look. We would love to see a pic of her now!
**Pet Food Recall Update**
I just received this email from another cat site…
——————————————————————————-
I wanted to give you another update about the recent pet food
recall. As you know, last week there was a dog and cat food recall
of 60 million containers packaged under 95 brands of food. The
preliminary reports indicated that the affected foods caused over
16 deaths and may have caused illness in hundreds of others.
Reports are continuously being updated and there is still a lot
that we don’t know.
What we do know is that the Agriculture Commissioner of New York
State Patrick Hooker released information that Aminopterin has been
found in some of the tested cat foods. Aminopterin is a form of
rat poison. It is not approved for use in the U.S. It is not
possible to test pets for this chemical at this time. No one seems
to know as to how much or if any other compounds were found. There
are many unanswered questions.
They do know that the compound involved is causing kidney failure.
The most common signs of kidney failure are: vomiting, not eating,
drinking more, urinating more and/or lethargy. If your pet is
eating or was eating one of the recalled foods and is experiencing
any symptoms, please call your veterinarian immediately. We
recommend testing and treating all affected pets! If caught early,
kidney failure can be treated successfully in some pets.

The food recall covers several different foods - primarily those
with gravy components - with the dates of December 3rd - March 6th.
The recall does not affect all varieties of the different food.

Makes me suspect that someone is ‘tampering’ with the pet food, maybe???
some of this food comes from china. is everyone aware of how the chinese treat/eat cats? how they live and how they are killed? it’s horrific but, everyone should be told about this. i boycott everything “made in china”. as should you.
Meet the Turkish Angora
March 27, 2007
Think Beethoven was the original European longhair? Think again. Cats from Ankara (formerly Angora), in Turkey, were brought to Europe by the Vikings as early as the 10th century.
This angora’s lush, silky coat; lively intelligence; and gracefulness continue to make the cat popular today. But don’t confuse them with their Persian cousins, whose faces are more pushed in and whose fur becomes matted more easily. The breed comes in many colors, but the most common is white. Almond-shaped eyes can be blue, green, green-gold, or amber. Or the cat may have one blue eye and one of a different hue.
How interesting to hear some cat history. Blessings on Pootie and her rescuers - what a dear little darling - she won’t be sad any more !!!
ihave a turkish angora his name is spotty and he has a new page as do all my kitts to see them click on my name then to find spotty got to the family section and find spotty.BTW LITTLE POOTIE IS THE SWEETEST BABY I’VE SEEN YET.Also BTW :UPDATE the person that thought they had my manx kitten checked and the one they found had a regular tail,so I’m still hoping she will return.keep praying for her return.

Spotty is very handsome. We left a treat.
Cute little Pootie
Found in a parking lot
Hubby did his duty
And what a sweetie you’ve got
Hi all! Really busy today so I probably won’t be on much. Darn it all, the powers that be finally noticed the report I wasn’t sending out. Gotta crunch some numbers
To Meezer Mama,
With a tonk, I’m a semi-meezer dad
Keep giving me a run for the money
It sure doesn’t make me sad.
Poetry wars, anyone?
It’s a TDK slam!
The classic Cat in the hat
Dear Ivory Bill

I have a Tonk as well
And a lynx point that’s a pill
All the poetry is swell
I haven’t any meezers
It makes me want to cry
But with my Bug and My Kombie
I guess I will get by
What is a meezer?
I believe that a Siamese is also called a meezer here.
Morning TDKers! I’ve been slammed at work so I am in semi-lurk mode. Pootie is such a sweet little bundle of fluff. Angels led her to her furrever home!
I got a sad email this morning. One of my good friends lost her yellow lab. He is the 17th victim of the Menu Foods tainted petfood tragedy. By the time they realized that he was eating the poisoned food it was too late. He crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. My firend is hearbroken. Everyone please just send some warm, healing positive thoughts to my friend in Maylene, Alabama today. I know they will get there and she and her remaining two dogs and two cats will feel it. RIP Captain Butler
Oh that’s so sad. Lots good thought and warm eHugs to your friend
My sincerest condolences to your friend. Possitive thoughts and energy to her and her other furry family members. I know they will all miss the Capt’n very much. Time will heal, but never erase. BTW is that Cpt. REX Butler as in Gone with the wind?
He was named after Captain Rhett Butler of Gone with the Wind fame and he was every bit as charming!
Oh that’s right Rhett not Rex, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen it. How suave he must have been! I bet he wasn’t cheap with the kisses either!
You mean the 17th *official* victim. Thousands have actually died, thousands more are near death, but they are not being counted properly and recognized in an official capacity, it’s heartbreaking. My deepest condolences to your friend, I can’t imagine the pain, and I’m sure the numbers mean nothing when you’ve lost yours! I know someone who lost 2 Siamese and her other cats are in hospital with renal failure. And that is ONE person!:(
I just heard on CNN that a woman was trying to coax her terrier to eat the Iams food so she ate a bite and the dog ate some too. She according to the news also became ill with vomiting and foaming at the mouth. Menu Foods said it will pay both their medical expenses.
I saw on the news that a family fed this “food” to their 2 litters of kittens that they were weaning. Only 2 of the kittens survived. This scared me the most because I have 3 foster litters to wean soon.
My condolences as well…and hugs all around.
My prayers are with your friend and you.
My heart goes out to your friend as well. I still can’t believe this kind of thing actually happened. I couldn’t imagine the heartbreak this has caused so many people. My prayers are with your friend and all of the others who have lost so much.
Poor baby and poor mommy. One of my friends lost 4 of hers from Jan to Mar. It was like dominoes falling and she was devastated. All good thoughts for your friend and her babies.
My condolences to her. Losing a beloved pet is losing a family member. I hope her other dogs and cats are well.
God Bless her.
Interesting stuff!
**The 20 Greatest Historical Myths**
http://www.writespirit.net/ad/greatest_historical_myths
There is a rather large controvercy as to whether Shakespeare ever actually existed at all. That the works attributed to him were collaborations and the pen name Shakespeare was used. I however refuse to believe this, because I don’t want to!
I’m with you, Rosie. I’ve studied literature for a long time and I’ve heard very few good theories for this. Most people recognize that is was, in fact, Shakespeare who wrote his own works.
I mean… IT was…
Cole Porter said it best:
“The girls today in society
Go for classical poetry,
So to win their hearts one must quote with ease
Aeschylus and Euripides.
But the poet of them all
Who will start ‘em simply ravin’
Is the poet people call
The bard of Stratford-on-Avon.
“Brush up your Shakespeare,
Start quoting him now.
Brush up your Shakespeare
And the women you will wow.
Just declaim a few lines from “Othella”
And they think you’re a helluva fella.
If your blonde won’t respond when you flatter ‘er
Tell her what Tony told Cleopaterer ,
If she fights when her clothes you are mussing,
What are clothes? “Much Ado About Nussing.”
Brush up your Shakespeare
And they’ll all kowtow.
“With the wife of the British ambessida
Try a crack out of “Troilus and Cressida,”
If she says she won’t buy it or tike it
Make her tike it, what’s more, “As You Like It.”
If she says your behavior is heinous
Kick her right in the “Coriolanus.”
Brush up your Shakespeare
And they’ll all kowtow,
And they’ll all kowtow,
And they’ll all kowtow.
I can still see Howard Keel laughing as Keenan Wynn and James Whitmore dance off the screen.
“I wasn’t tre’tnin’ wit a gun. I was merely shiftin’ the weight from dat side to dis side.”
They don’t make ‘em like they used to. *sigh*
Poor baby. So hard to imagine such a little one out there all alone. I’m so glad your hubby rescued her. Her little lovie face made my day.
Here is a classic Dave Barry article that is hysterical!
