Mom and Dad loved to dance and won many a contest. Their favorite song was The Tennessee Waltz. I can still remember standing on dad’s shoes waltzing with him. He died in 1976 and mom left me in 1989. I Really miss them, especially my best friend mom. I liked being someone’s little girl.

I teach Lang. Arts and ESL at a junior high in TX. I started out subbing until I got my alternative certification. It’s a good way to find out what age range you really want to teach. It’s not too early to look for positions for next year, but the bulk of the available positions here aren’t known until around May-June. It is not unusual for many positions to not become available until July due to unexpected openings (spousal transfer, “a better offer,” etc.).

Google-search the daylights out of area districts and their parent organizations. Also look into state BOE websites. Check out their links. I wish you well!

So sweet of you to say you miss my posts. Awwww….
I am off today. It is a warm, beautiful sunny day out too! I got 35 hours next week so I am very happy! Depending on my availability, I can get up to 38-39 hours on accasion. I am happy with 35 though.
Yes, it is VERY nice to have money to pay my bills…. I became way… behind being out so long.
My back is pretty good. One day it didn’t hurt at all, but when I’m at the register a long time, my right side back bothers me a lot.
I really miss being on here during the day too. I am at work, wishing I was visiting with my TDK friends. I think of you all throughout the day!! :)

Not a Calvin and Hobbes fan? That’s o.k. I wanted a link with the illustrations, too, but couldn’t find it and had to settle for the dialogue only.

Calvin is a precocious and obnoxious 6-year-old with a penchant for destruction. His best friend is his stuffed tiger, Hobbes, who only comes to life for Calvin. Hobbes is the voice of reason for the pair. It was a classic comic strip that ran from the mid-80’s to the mid 90’s. I still miss it terribly.

When my Fibs died I wrote the following. It has been three years now, and it still brings tears to my eyes when I talk about him. But eventually there will come a day in your future when you can think about Yatzee and laugh.

Heart broken and missing you, I drag my sorrow like a weight.
The space you occupied in my life is a gaping hole around me.
Invisible, emotionless the hole sits on my feet and begs for attention.
Emptiness follows me.
Tears pile up behind my eyes, sometimes they fall forward.
They cling to my lashes, heavy hot holding on like my grief.
Sometimes they spill back, a flowing grief that drips across my heart.
Emptiness fills me.
I held you in my hand and caressed you to your first breath.
Thin golden thread held you to this world, I was tangled there.
You embroidered a pattern to my days, it was beautiful, and I want more.
Emptiness covers me.
I held you in my arms and loved you to your last breath.
Golden thread broken, unraveling twine tethered to emptiness.
You waited for me, the circle was complete, I still miss you.

Rosie,
That is one of the most beautiful poems I have ever read and sums up so eloquently what it is like to lose a furbaby. I had Clueless from first breath to last too and your words so completely express what my heart felt that day. It took three kits to replace her. I hope that today, she and Fibs are laying in a sunbeam together with Yahtzee at their sides.

Ok, gotta grab a tissue, the mascara is smearing.

I got this in my email box this morining- Just a FYI

The recent pet food recall by Menu Foods has been all over the news. We thought you’d appreciate hearing the latest information about this serious and sometimes confusing situation.

First, we’d like to reassure you that the recent nationwide pet food recall does not include any Mars Petcare US pet food products. All of our brands, including PEDIGREE® food for dogs, CESAR® canine cuisine, THE GOODLIFE RECIPE™ food for dogs and cats, WHISKAS® and SHEBA® food for cats, and TEMPTATIONS® cat treats, are safe for pets to enjoy.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is now focusing its investigation on wheat gluten as the possible source of contamination that sparked the national recall of cans and pouches of pet food last week.

On March 23, the FDA confirmed the safety of products not involved in the recall. According to the FDA, pet owners should feel confident feeding their pets products not affected by the recall.

What’s more, we at Mars Petcare US have verified that wheat gluten is not sourced from any of the suppliers who are currently under investigation by the FDA.

The safety and nutritional quality of our pet food is our top priority because for many people, their pets are their top priorities.

For details on the recall, contact Menu Foods at 1-866-895-2708, 1-866-463-6738 or visit the company’s web site at: http://www.menufoods.com/recall.

Yours truly,

Mars Petcare US
