My grandparents used to love to throw cocktail parties, and invite their friends (most of whom were family members, as we are a huge, loud, Latino family). My grandpa’s favorite drink was the Tom Collins, and I used to love the cherries. When I was about six or seven, I walked into the sliding glass door that went from the house onto the patio, after having gone around and stolen everybody’s gin-soaked cherry. Of course, my grandpa’s solution: Simply put large flower stickers on the glass door, rather than cut back on the gin.
