D’arcy
Location: Manila, Philippines
This is our Himalayan kitten D’arcy in her favorite spot - the top of her scratching post! Sometimes we even catch her falling asleep while still trying to keep her balance. When my girlfriend and I bought her she had a really bad cold and lots of fleas but since then she’s managed to become an active and healthy cat.

Pounce! So completely cute!!!
A post-er child of feline behavior
You just HAD to raise that flag to see who’d salute it, huh?
Of course I did. And if I didn’t say it, you probably would have
Keeping our wits sharp from pillar to post, huh?
Sharp as a bowling ball….
I say, I made a funny boy! Why ain’t yah laughin’?
HA, ha ha. HA, ha, ha, ha, ha.
*evil Mandark laughter*
jpanfarley04
Sounds more like foghorn leghorn laughter.
You guys are too funny. I have been so busy lately that I have not had time for the tdk. I am so glad I checked it out.
what a cutei my son wants it
Aw, does she have legs?
Nah, she’s legless…
What will happen when she’s all grown up? Teetering post-er kitty?
Who needs legs? I’m sure this little cutie will have her human well trained to take her anywhere she wants to go
That’s what we call drunks. “Legless as Long John Silver”
Well at least you’ll always know where she is - just where you left her.
She looks like she’s saying “Stop looking at me, I’m trying to stuff myself into this thing”
She can stuff herself in my backpack instead. What a beautiful kitty.
HM Please share today. It’s my first day back at work after losing my brother-in law, (and my friend) I really NEED to squish this beautiful ball of fluff. I’ll give her back later, I promise.
ppearson, you can have her for as long as you need.
sanjaya sould of came home last night
ok so we get you dont like him for whatever twisted reason your mind can think up whether it is true or not, but could ya lay off? yesterday was bad enough.
Thank you and thank you all for your kind prayers and thoughts on Monday. After 5 really rough days it was so nice to get home to the kits. At least until the very rotund Emma decided that she needed to sleep all over me last night and “massage” my bladder! the other two stuck pretty close to us both and offered kitty comfort.
Glad you’re back, PPearson. Again, major sorry about your loss. Let the lunacy here help heal you.
Awww…they know when you “knead” them, don’t they?
You are in my thoughts and prayers
**hugs**
that is such a cute kitty i wish it was mine
OK I’m up here….Now where do I go?
Cute fuzzball!
Move over, Jane Austen! Mister Darcy is yours but MISS D’Arcy is MINE!
What a hoot I thought only my goofey black cat did that. She would use the scratching post to perch on and the back of the couch to file her nails.
D’arcy is so beautiful.
Years ago I had a cat named Buddy who would perch on the head of my Budha, so we started calling him Gutama Buddy. When Buddy became an adult very large (black Persian mix) cat he would still like to perch on Budha but because he was so big he would have to reach around and hold on to Budha’s chin. It looked as if he were wearing a fur hat with eyes! Too funny. D’Arcy reminds me of him, seeing her sitting up there like that. I bet when she’s older that post will look like a fuzzy lolly pop!
That is SO funny!
Sitting with Budda - now that would make a picture !! Cats are so enlightened !! If you have a picture - please send, I know we would all enjoy.
Lost everything in Hurricane Andrew in ‘92
I’d love to see a picture of that!
Ok - I’ve got the visual. That sounds so funny!
down that little tube even
Aww cute, i wouldn;t go as far to say i want to smoke it. why are cats so cute!
All the better to make us their willing slaves, my dear!
What a darling little face! Lookit those eyes, so full of mischief. I just looooove these baby kitties here.
OOOOOOO!!! Ear wiskers!!! I loooovee kitty ear wiskers!!!
Top Cat ! What a pretty little kitty !
Cats find the strangest places to nap! What a QT pie!
Bumblebee-
Glad to hear that Perry is home, healthier, and happy!
Not sure about the2nd eyelid thing is ok, did he have it before he got sick?
The second eye lid is the first to get inflamed when a cat gets sick-upper respitory stuff and the like, and it is the last thing to go as well. That is the lesson for the day, watch those eye lids kids!
Awesome… an anatomy lesson. I had no idea they had 2 eyelids…..
Yes, the second eyelid acts as a protectant. Sometimes you see it when kitty is just waking up, but if it’s prominent, it’s an indicator that something may be wrong. Sometimes it’s nothing; a slight cold or irritant in the eye, but it can also indicate something more serious.
Not to get too technical but the second eyelid is that thingy in the corner of the eye, like where tears come from on a human.
D’Arcy is D’arling!
Very clever CatRancher!
Now, here’s Miss D’Arcy in Manila,
Since Ali, the P.I.’s biggest “thrilla”!
So totally engrossed
With her scratching post,
And fuzz of chocolate and vanilla!
Limericks! I love ‘em!
I’m not good with limericks, but I like to read them. Keep ‘em coming, Ginny!
D’Arcy is an adorable little fluff ball! I’d love to kiss her soft fur and snorgle her little belly.
D’arcy is a B’eauty!
Smashing Pumpkins FUZZ!!!!
D’Arcy is beautiful!
Awesome Jennifer! I was just wondering if she was named after the Pumpkin D’Arcy
D’arcy knew, even from a young age, that she belonged on a pedestal…
I want to nibble those tiny ears!
Speaking of the pet food mess (when aren’t we?), you really want to see what Menu Foods is up to on their corporate parent’s webpage:
http://www.evanmorris.com/weblog/2007/04/get_us_out_of_here.html
Don’t miss the full name of that corporate parent, or the blogger’s comment under the pic.
The blogger in this case is my brother, who has even more cats (12) than I do (7). He thinks the kitten in the pic looks dead; I think it looks like it’s saying “My bowl is full of dead bugs!”
(let’s see who gets that old reference…)
Even if you only have one cat, you’ll identify with this account of why you should never do the dishes by hand:
http://www.evanmorris.com/weblog/2007/04/why_you_should_never_do_the_di.html
that is the funniest thing i’ve seen yet - and look how serious she is! lovely little fluffball.
From a young age, D’arcy was quite sure she belonged on a pedestal…

Speaking of the pet food mess (when weren’t we?), you want to see the new logo that Menu Foods’ corporate parent has just added to their own website:

(I tried to post a few minutes ago, but the kitties were running across the keyboard and entered a meaningless fragment in the “URL” box, and I’m guessing that’s why my post hasn’t shown up — anyway, apologies for possible double post)
What do they mean “income fund”? Whose inome? They need to give some income to all the people whose pets they killed.
Did you click on the image? You will notice how they doctored the puppies eyes to look sad and pathetic. It looks like one of those pictures that were popular in the 70’s. What’s up with that?
MORE on the pet food disaster, from the BUSINESS section of today’s New York Times:
…There are strong indications that Xuzhou Anying, a company with a main office that seems to consist of just two rooms and an adjoining warehouse here, possessed substantial supplies of melamine and even sought to buy quantities of it over the Internet.
If melamine was intentionally blended into the wheat gluten, the findings could become a vast setback for agricultural trade between the United States and China, a country known for lax food-safety regulations.

Its a fluf ball on a stick
Very cute!
Himys are the sweetest, like my Sheba.
I used to have a Himalayan named Sheba, also. She passed away nearly 5 years ago at the age of 18 1/2 yrs. D’arcy reminds me of Sheba when she was little. So cute and sweet.
What a sweet pea. My kitties balance themselves on their post to look out the window and sleep on barstools…
A~
Hey I’m a quarter Filipino!
And I suppose a Himalayan is part Meezer
I am so glad that we know
That this baby’s no longer a sneezer
Okay that was bad
And possibly trite
But please don’t be mad
And flame me out of spite!
Flame you out of spite? Never.
Love the poem.
We will instead flame you out of love
ok, well that didn’t rhyme with trite. How about?
You all rolled your eyes
At the poem above
For forgiveness the poet cries
And instead of anger, receives love
D’lightful D’Arcy is sweetie pie. I sure she will be forever grateful that you found her and are supplying abundant TLC.
Isn’t there an old song that says something like that?
D’lovely, D’lightful… something something…
S’wonderful, s’marvelous that you could care for meeeeee.
This kitten looks just like Damion my grandfuzz…….:)
What a cute little ball of fluff!
Himalayan’s when kittens, always look like they just got out of bed! but they do turn into beautiful Cats.
D’lovely, D’lightful, D’licious FUZZ!
Cole Porter FUZZ–you can never go wrong with that?
And why, at the same time, am I thinking of Terence Trent D’Arby?
Maybe somebody has signed their name across your heart.
HM–that’s so BAAADDDDDDD it’s good!
Heh. My late Miss Biffer used to get on top of her scratching post, but only so she could scratch the top of the chair it was supposed to protect!
D’arcy is too cute.
D’arcy is an adorable perching pusskin! She’s SOOOO pretty!

The places our feline friends manage to be comfortable in. Never ending cuteness.
Maverick likes to sleep between the washer and dryer.
REMINDS ME OF OUR TAZ.. SHE NO LONGER HAS A FACE THAT LIGHT. THE OLDER SHE GETS THE DARKER HER FACE GETS. I SENT HER PIC BUT THEY MUST NOT HAVE LIKED IT.
Hey, I had a kitty named Taz too! She was all black, taken from mommy too young (I fed her with an eyedropper for a few weeks) and a crazy, wild baby. That’s how she earned her name. She’s probably instigating all kinds of crazy stuff at the Rainbow Bridge. I will find out someday…
Cute! Back in the 60’s we had a cat door and cat perch in our garage and our cat Mitzi brought home a cat. It turned out to be a Himalayan who escaped from his owners at a local motel. Somehow she found her way to us and came in the cat door! I found out she was ‘lost’ by reading the lost and found in our local paper. Delilah was reunited w/her owners and other their other pet Sampson.
I add that the motel was over 5 miles from us and across a very busy hiway!
Oh, precious child…the Great Spirit was watching over that one.
D’lovely D’arcy! What a sweety. She just looks so cuddlable. I just love those beautiful blue eyes.
***Listerine Rinse Recalled For Contamination Recall Affects Glacier Mint, Bubble Blast Flavors***
WASHINGTON — The maker of Listerine is recalling one of its rinses after tests showed it was contaminated with microorganisms.
A Johnson & Johnson spokeswoman said a company unit is recalling 4 million bottles of the recently launched Listerine Agent Cool Blue plaque-detecting rinse, marketed primarily for use by children.
The recall affects the Glacier Mint and Bubble Blast flavors.
The company said tests showed contamination, despite the use of preservatives. However, the company said there have be no reports of health problems from the contamination.
The affected rinses have been sold in supermarkets, drug stores, mass merchants and other retail outlets, and it’s sold to dental professionals’ offices nationwide. Johnson & Johnson is contacting dental professionals and retailers directly as part of their recall notification process.
Consumers are advised to stop using the product and throw it away. Consumers can get full refund by calling the company at 1-888-222-0249 and mailing in the back label, including the UPC code.
Bad breath has it’s priviledges.
Yeah, let’s hear it for potato chip breath! (my lunch)
Let’s hear it for garlic mashed potatoes (my lunch)
I always make sure to eat lots of onions before my FAVORITE class arrives after lunch. Hey–maybe I’ll just start wearing the garlic wreath. . .
*gets up very slowly, goes and checks his Listerine. Artic mint rather than glacier mint.*
Whew. That was a scary moment.
I didn’t get up slowly. My kid (21 but still MY kid) has been using something. Turned out to be Reach, thank goodness. What’s WITH all these corporate lapses?
Fluffy cute fuzz - she must like perching there because it co-ordinates with her fluff and eyes!
Because we all know how much the UN loves the United States…
****U.N. Wants NYC Cops for Peacekeeping****
UNITED NATIONS (AP) - Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon asked New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Wednesday whether some of the city’s police officers could be deployed with U.N. peacekeeping missions.
Recruiting police for the U.N.’s 16 peacekeeping missions around the globe has been historically challenging.
“New York City has one of the most diversified police forces around and I think the secretary-general would like to explore possibilities,” U.N. deputy spokeswoman Marie Okabe said before the meeting. “Getting police to join peacekeeping operations is one of the high priorities for the U.N.”
Bloomberg left the meeting without speaking to reporters. Stu Loeser, the mayor’s spokesman, said his office had no comment.
New York City has recently fallen short of its police recruiting goals so it’s unclear if it would have any officers to spare for international peacekeeping.
The U.N. peacekeeping department said 321 American police officers are currently involved in missions abroad, primarily training local police. Of those, 225 are in the Kosovo region of Yugoslavia, and others are in Haiti, Liberia and Sudan.
Why? Why? Why? does the UN think they have the right to further take advantage of NYC??? As a former NYer, it won’t happen! NYC police are for the city, by definition, NYC has no money to police the world! *steps off soapbox, goes back to work.*
D’arcy is so pretty. Such a cute pose. Amazing how cats like to sleep in the strangest positions and spots. Some of my cats used to sit on top of the scratching post, too. My Gidget likes to sleep on top of the lawnmower(not running) when stored or on her catwalk.
NOT for the squeamish!

saw that one - one reason to keep faaaaarrrr back from crocs
I saw that on my yahoo…. thought it interesting, yet wondered why something so gruesome would be posted. Hmm… then again, there are worse things on the net.
WARNING, WARNING WAY GRAPHIC!! Ewwww… then you wonder is that real?
“Your arm’s off”
“Tis but a FLESH wound”
Dear Monty Python - my favorite movie for good belly laughs
Too funny Huddy’s Mama…one of my all time favorite movies
Mine too, HM Love the Monty Python humor.
I don’t know; even in jest, I think those movies speak of human abuse and should not be shown anymore.
What are you going to do? Bleed on me?
