Joey, Misty & Tyson

Location: McKinney, Texas, USA

1176406315snc10152.jpgThese are my foster kitties Joey, Misty and Tyson. They are about seven weeks old in this picture. We were at a friends for a play date and they seemed to want to pose for pictures. Needless to say, the camera was pulled out rather quickly. Tyson must have whispered a good joke into Misty’s ear because something got here laughing hard (that or when we said “Say Cheese” she thought we asked who wanted cheese).

I was going to offer my favorite local sausage–Chappell Hill’s Pork and Venison sausage. Then I remembered that a lot of that recalled pet food got fed to hogs. Couple that with the aversion many people have to venison–yeah, Cheri, I’ll take some of that bacon after all.

Comment by Dee from Tampa
2007-04-27 15:59:51

Here is the latest from Itchmo…

Blue Buffalo just announced another expansion of the recall covering:

All Blue brand can dog foods
All Spa Select brand can cat foods
All Blue Health Bar treats.

The release indicates that rice protein was added without their knowledge to these products. Blue Buffalo attributes this to “tampering” by their contract manufacturer American Nutrition, who was connected to several other recalls on Thursday.

Happy Friday to you, Elene! Looks like the hubby and I will be making another rescue run this weekend. Some meezers and himmy’s? need to go from Ohio to Powder Spgs, Ga.
They still need someone to go from Lexington, Ky to Danville Ky Sat evening and from Athens, Tn to Chattanooga, Tn at noon and from Chattanooga, Tn to Adairsville, Ga around 1:30 Sunday. We’ll take the last leg to their final destination.
I can provide a contact to anyone who may be interested.

Elene, sorry to hear about that little one you’ve been looking for. And that is the very reason we do what we can. To balance karma. For every one we can’t help there are more that we can.
The report on this transport trip is this: At this time we plan on
>transporting 4 cats and 3 kittens (6 carriers) who were taken from
>high-risk situations in OH and have been temporarily boarded or
>fostered until they can move to rescue as well as one cat from TN. We
>have space for them in Powder Springs, GA (metro Atlanta), but we
>have to get them there. Our temporary fosters and the boarding
>facility have been very kind in boarding them, but we need to free up
>space for other cats at risk in the local shelters. PLEASE HELP!!

They are dividing into two trips of 6 carriers each. And I do think we are a stupendous group-individually and collectively.

I would just like to know who owned the poor baby. I kept looking for notices of a lost Himi but there weren’t any. More than likely he was a drop off or a left behind. Usually pet cats don’t make it in the wild, and suffer untold misery, but people continue to discard rather than take to a shelter.

Hi Everyone!
So glad it’s Friday! Bob and I are almost ready for our “big” move to the next street over. I went over with some things last night and discovered a bunch of black ants. Eeewww! What sort of ant killer stuff do you use around a kitten? I thought of going over tonight and spray raid or something and then washing the floor Saturday before I move Bob over, but I don’t know if just spraying once will be enough. Are the little ant trap box things harmful to kittens? It’s not like I can ask Bob to stay away from them (Well I could….) - he’s into everything!
Any suggestions?
