Hello TDKr’s - I put a pink collar on Shaddo when he was little; it was the only one I had and he was an indoor/outdoor guy. As if he knew it was pink, he scrunched up his shoulders and gave me the Siamese attitude till I took it off. Geez!! Over 16 years later, we still talk about that. He proudly wears a blue collar with “diamonds” and his tags. Anyway, that was my first thought when I saw this little darling, I hope she’s a girl! What a beautiful classic tabby. And a sister to keep her company - how cool!
Bye TDKr’s - again today it’s crazy here and again I left my magic wand at home and forgot to let my evil twin out of the attic to terriorize others while I get to all this work. Have a great day and enjoy the sharing circle, the goodies, the great conversation and, of course the kitties!

Well, the caption says “isn’t she fierce”, but I would think the pink collar was cute anyway, especially with the little heart shaped tag dangling from it.

Baby Bob is doing great. He’s six months old now!!!! I can’t believe how quickly he’s grown. We went to the vet for his rabies shot last week and now we’re done with the shots till next year - he’s 6 and a half pounds now. The vet assured me Bob’s fine again after the kidney scare - he squshed Bob’s belly and Bob didn’t complain.
The little guy’s a work with me this morning - and after running around like a maniac kitty for a few hours, he’s now sleeping in “his” drawer next to me. He sends his greetings to all you TDK”ers!

Yes, it’s really amazing how time flies. It’s been almost two months since we moved to the new place, and Bob loves it there! His favorite thing is to lay in the window when I open it and smell nature outside. We have a screen on the window, but I don’t know how much longer it’ll last, since the little guy’s trying his hardest to scratch his way through it - I only keep it open when I’m in the room, to prevent his from getting through the screen and getting out. He REALLY want to go outside, so the last few days I’ve been taking him out on a leash. He looks so happy out there chasing bugs, chewing on the grass, snifing things etc. that I feel bad not letting him be an outdoor kitty. I’d just never be able to do that - I’d be SO worried about him out there. Anyway, when we go back inside, he howls to get back outside, so now I’m thinking maybe I shouldn’t leave the window open and let him out on the leash if it tempts him so much. Maybe he’ll forget about the great outdoors eventually if I don’t expose him to it. What do you guys think?

The operative part of the description “House Cat” is House. However you might look into the cat windows and other “touch of nature” products to accommodate his little open air heart.

So glad to see you back on here Great Dane! Sounds like Bob is doing what Sylvester is doing. I made the mistake of letting Sylvester out onto the landing (I am on the second floor) to the set of stairs and he just whines at the door to go out there now. Thankfully he is too scared to go down the stairs. Once the get a taste of “outside” it is too late to get rid of the memory. I told my husband that the next place we live will have to have an enclosed patio or a balcony (which I will cat proof so he cannot jump off).

No luck on the Scottish Dev company. Because one of my references wouldn’t give a reference (she gave out too many do to my posting her on my Monster resume page and the temp agencies calling her too much), they said that it was a negative in their eyes and that they would only start me on 90 day probationary temp status. I told them that I couldn’t start a job with a negative mark. They got mad at me and said I must have a bad employee behavior to not want to start on the temp status. I have good references and do not understand how he could say one reference reflected my whole employee history. Sheesh! I am glad I didn’t take the job. Hubby is worried about bills and so now I am too. Trying to land a temp job to cover the bils till I land a perm job. Lots of interviews this week. Wish I could win some money on the lottery. Doesn’t have to be millions, just three thousand for now and another 50 thousand for later on.

Great Dane:

Great news! Bob is a ‘big’ healthy cat now and he has a steady job. :)

My parents had kitties who were used to go outdoors. After they moved to a more urban suburb they fenced an area next to the house. Kitties had their own entrance and they could roam freely inside and outside. They absolutely loved it.

If that kind of solution is impossible for you I would recommend walking Bob if he behaves good in a leash. Being outside is so highly valued stimulus for kitties IF you can keep them safe.

Perhaps I should elaborate. My first indoor-only kitty was a beautiful Purebred Alleymeese (an Alleymeese who with forged patents of nobility could pass for Pedigreed) who literally followed me home as a 5 month old stray. My father was an “animals belong out doors unless the weather is too nasty for a brass monkey” type of guy. Jasemine roamed free at first except for the 3 months she was restrained before mother had her spayed. (I was supposed to have her bred one time by my 1st boyfriends meezer (non-alley type) but he was too young to accommodate and mother said she could not take the yowling one more minute –this was over 30yrs ago and you could get $15 dollars for a lovely meezer kitten without papers where I lived the profits were to pay for the spay and I had 4 confirmed homes waiting for her kittens).
Then there was the threat to her life by the unneighborly neighbor who accused her of spraying her tires.
Jasmine became a permanent indoor cat who had a cat harness for her leashed walks. She also loved to ride in the car (except to the vet’s).
She left me after 19 yrs and I still miss her.

To all TDK’s. Just wanted to remind you all that you can get portable adjustable screens here: http://hardware.hardwarestore.com/72-156-adjustable-window-screens.aspx
I have purchased them at Lowes and Home Depot, but sometimes they are a little difficult to find. They have aluminum screening, you can even stack them if needed for a really tall window and I don’t think they could be scratched through because they are metal. Safety for all kitties!

Thank goodness he is well and you have gotten past the scare. I had a scare of my own when one of my boys developed crystals in his bladder. It was SOOO scary. He had to be in the hospital for three days and I was a total nervous wreck. He’s better now, and so am I.

God help me if I put a collar on Stinky. she gets so stressed out, I mean really stressed out, running around and panting like crazy. I can’t put flea collars on or anything. Luckily we don’t have a flea problem. I don’t like the drops you put on their neck either, too toxic for me to trust. she’s an outdoor/indoor cat anyway and probably shouldn’t have a collar, also afraid of it getting tangled with something outside.

I got signed up to Hotel Chocolat’s “Chocolate Tasting Club” for my birthday this year: they send you FANTASTIC chocolates by post and you tell them how each new chocolate rates out of ten. Some of the flavours are incredible: pomegranate truffle in white chocolate was my fave from the previous box, and in this one choc->orange->chilli was the best.

Oh, and Imhotep is SO, SO cute! Enjoy her and her sister.

Thank god I am in northern california where we have the fog come in when it is hot for a couple of days. Last year we had three weeks of hot (100+) temps. It was horrible. I experienced 98 degrees with 95% humidity in the suburbs of Detroit and while I was on a trip in Paris many many moons ago. I would get out of the shower, dry off and within 15 seconds be all wet again with sweat. Had to change clothes at three times during the day.
