Indie (the lighter tortie) and Cocoa (the darker tortie) on the day I brought them home; they were 10 weeks old. Indie is short for Independence because they were born (I watched!) on July 4. Cocoa is, well, she is Cocoa because she is my very own sweet treat!

When my family lost our 18-year old pal Max (who must have been a person reincarnated as a cat) we were too sad to get another. Less than a year later, however, my cousins called and said, “We found an abandoned kitten - do you want her?” I couldn’t let her go to the shelter so I took her, sight unseen. She’s a calico cutie who must be part dog (she fetches), part duck (likes water), part squirrel (see above) and part beaver (she chews on wood). This picture is when she was about 5 months old and thought she could catch the birds in the lilac bush. She also stands on her hind legs and looks into the birdbath.
