I’m 53, and have never had the privilege of being owned by a cat before! “Mom” acquired me this winter when she’d follow the sound of my jingling keys as I came home from work at night. I just couldn’t leave her out in the cold, and before I knew it she was pregnant. I watched in awe as she delivered her babies in the middle of my living room, with all the lights on, and my neighbor and me looking on! “Skippy” was last in the litter of four, but certainly was not the runt! In fact, before Mom could even finish licking her clean, she was groping for a nipple! (I swear she should have been born 3-4 days before the others!) Anyway, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching Skippy and the gang develop from babies to kitties to kittens. Skippy’s staying with Mom and me, to help soften the blow when we have to break up the rest of the family.
