Karma
Location: Taiyuan, Shanxi, China

I met Karma on my way to teach class last Monday. She was being kept in an impossibly small crate by the janitor and meowing up a storm! I couldn’t help it, I took her home even though I’ve never had a cat before. She’s almost three months old I think, and full of energy! She’ll chase anything, climb anything, and attack unsuspecting feet. At night she insists on sleeping my pillow. Whenever I get back from teaching I can trust that Karma will be meowing at the door, scolding me for leaving her alone. She’s adorable and I can’t imagine China without her!

Giles
Location: Pasadena, California, USA

Giles is one of five kittens born to the feral cat who lives by our house. He and his siblings have been living with us since age 5 weeks (shown here at age 11 weeks). He’s the largest of the litter, though his two sisters are more dominant. He’s a very laid back, easygoing, playful kitten whose favorite thing is to rise up and pounce his forearms around the ankles of unsuspecting humans. Giles is also polydactyl, with two extra toes on each front paw.

Angel
Location: Pasadena, California, USA

Angel is one of five kittens born to the feral cat who lives by our house. He and his siblings have been living with us since age five weeks (he’s shown here at age eight weeks). Physically, he’s the runt of the litter, but he also seems to be the smartest of the lot. While he’s shy around strangers, he’s very playful and affectionate around people he knows well.

Laz
Location: Watertown, New York, USA

Laz was rescued from some kids that were really mean to him. They had strangled him to the point he passed out and they thought he was dead, so we named him Lazarus. Now he has a good home with a big brother, and is very happy as you can see.

Lucy & Abby
Location: Cumming, Georgia, USA

We rescued Lucy and her sister Abby when they were only a few weeks old, orphaned and abandoned. This picture is from the night we rescued them!!! They were very weak, and we almost lost Abby. Now, at 18 months, they run circles around our other seven cats, and provide hours of entertainment and love!!
