Toad
Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Toad was one of two foster kittens that I had not too long ago. He and his sister, named Licorice, were just about the most adorable foster kittens I’ve had out of the eight previous fluff balls. They were so tiny as babies, and they still had their “kitten eyes”, before they grew into a soft green-amber. They definitely were the loudest kittens I’ve had. Not once did I get a full night’s sleep that was uninterrupted by their mewling! They did, however, come when called; all I had to do was throw my arms out and call “Hello babies!” before they’d come climbing over each other to get to the door and greet me! I never found out their ages, but I did find out that they were in a litter of five. I would have taken them ALL, but I don’t have that many hands! I wish I had known how old they were, because they kept switching back and forth between exploring and cuddling to racing around and tearing up everything! I keep them in my bathroom hallway, and after they grew fat enough to return to the shelter and be spayed and neutered, they had torn down and eaten all of my paper decals on the walls from about three feet above the floor. They were my favorites so far, and because of that I didn’t mind the extra cleanup. Every night, I would grab a bedsheet and the two would curl up in it and all three of us would fall asleep together! I miss them, but they are currently waiting to be adopted, so I visit them every weekend when I volunteer there! They were the sweetest kittens, I know they’re going to make somebody happy. And the missing decals on the wall will never let me forget those few weeks they lived with me!
