The posts took an absolute age to appear and it was as if the NS had stalled so we called this The Wall. Those of us still on and back in those days there were plenty of us crazy Shifters, would post about getting over the wall by any means possible, climbing,flying,launching from contraptions,digging under, heaving each other over etc. Our posts would appear at random moments and it was always hilarious to see just what we had all posted while in this 'limbo'. It was on one such occasion that Cat Woman split her Spanx as she threw her leg over the top of the wall. She was also known to moon us climbing the wall. It was some internet glitch that we all made the best of as TDKers do.<br /> The Azalea still owes Dorie dinner. Google is the king of the internet, as we all know. </p> <p>JFNJ, One does not have to have a google account to access a Google Document. It opens up like a web page. A "Google Document" is Google's version of "Microsoft Word." </p> <p>Here are the steps:<br /> 1) Log into your Google account.<br /> 2) Go to <a href="https://docs.google.com/" rel="nofollow">https://docs.google.com/</a> and click on CREATE&gt;Document. A blank document will open up.<br /> 2. Copy/paste the entire dictionary/glossary onto the google document. It saves automatically.<br /> 3)Give the document a name by clicking on "Untitled document" on the upper left corner.<br /> 4) Set the privacy by clicking on the blue "Share" button on the upper right corner. A pop-up will open. Click on "Change" </p> <p>There are 3 privacy options:<br /> 1) "Public on the web": If you select this option, anyone (on the world wide web)can see the document if they happen to stumble on it. No need to log in and no need to have a google account.<br /> 2) "Anyone with the link": Anyone (TDK family) with the link can open the document. No need to log in and no need to have a google account. It opens up just like a web page.<br /> 3) "Private": Only you can view the document. You can also allow specific people (with google accounts) to view it. In the beginning stages, you can select this option. This will allow you to edit the document as and when required without anyone seeing it. YOu can also share it with other senior TDK members so that they can review it before it is made available to everyone on TDK (via the link).</p> <p>Now, let's assume you have selected option 2) i.e. "Anyone with the link." You can further refine the privacy as follows:<br /> a)"Can View": The person with the link will only be able to view the document. They cannot edit or comment. So only you have the editing rights, although they can view it.<br /> b) "Can comment": The person with the link can comment at any point on the page. This will enable TDKers to add further meaning to a particular word. They cannot edit the document.<br /> c) "Can edit": The person with the link can add/delete/change the content partially or entirely.</p> <p>You can also upload your excel spreadsheet by clicking on the upload button besides the CREATE button. Google has spreadsheets too.</p> <p>"Documents" can be created in "Facebook Groups" as well. However, one cannot view it unless one has a fb account. Moreover, the TDKF group is a "closed group;" so only group members will be able to view it. If a TDK member wants to see the dictonary on fb, they have to: a)create/log in on facebook b)join the TDKF group c) get approved by TDKF admin. Only then will they be able to view it.
