The cafe is decorated with red, pink and white paper hearts. Mama kitties have been supervising while kittens carefully cut and string together paper hearts and daddy cats are up on ladders hanging them so they drape from the ceiling and walls.
Somehow, chef kittehs have managed to shape pastries, donuts and even bagels into heart shapes. The big orangie manning the griddle will show off his heart-shaped pancakes!

Well, it snowed last nite...it always snows on my birfday! Maybe I should start celebrating in July to have a warm & sunny change of pace! Had a nice evening with yummy Mexican noms & 'ritas with a few friends! Sort of eased me into a year older! Back at it today, no exciting plans for tonite for being on a budget we'll probably make something as shrimp stir-fry and I will pick up a decadent little piece of dessert to share w/some bubbly! Anyway I need a very large cuppa joe to go with a cookie left over from yesterday's treats. Now, a smooch for Tux, later...

My husband and I celebrate the day as a reminder to stop and appreciate the wonderful loving relationship we have. I think the holiday has become over commercialized (like so many of our American holidays) but we continue to celebrate it for what it is: a day to be thankful for all of the loving relationships we have, not just romantic ones. Its also my Mom's birthday so I grew up celebrating Valentine's Day as a two-fold holiday :)

Here is a photo of me and Sanskrit who is all dolled up for the day!
Enjoy: <img src="http://i1249.photobucket.com/albums/hh520/KoppyKat27/Starr%20Kits/SanskritandLValentines.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket">

Well yesterday he gave me an injection of litocaine in my head by the base of the neck to deaden one side and see if it worked. It did but while one side was numb, the other picked up the slack. Will I consider the surgery? Absolutely! It's better than the alternative of getting a gun!!!

My cat did eat a "foreign body" and my vet gave me some signs to look out for to indicate a blockage. Vomiting and not eating were the warning signs. Mine never showed those signs so he must have passed it.

Like JCAT said, if she continues not to eat that is very serious. I hope you are able to work out a payment plan for the vet care, if needed. I know in my town vets have really different pricing from vet to vet, so calling around might help. Good luck.

The Native American museum does have good food - cafeteria style as are all the museum options I think. Here is a link to the current season menu - I think they change it seasonally: http://www.nmai.si.edu/visitor/files/2011winter_menu.pdf

Deb, at least they have finally gotten a clue! Hey if deadening the nerves in your temples works, hmmmm almost like permanent Botox (or it sounds like it). Are you going to think about trying it?

Better than the doc prescribing the almost pure form of LSD that was suggested for me, only to be obtained from Canada of course since the FDA decided years ago not to allow it any longer.

Good morning and Happy Valentines Day littermates. I'm sorry it's been some time since I've done this but I really haven't had anything to report. I finally saw the doctor that I've been on the waiting list to get on the waiting list to see. Wow, what a session! He seems to be fairly certain that I have one of the rarest forms of headache. He said it's not mirgranes I suffer from but a condition called SUNCT Syndrome. Not much can be done for this other than surgery to deaden the nerves in my temples. What to take for pain? Why opiates of course! The one thing I was always told I couldn't have because this guy didn't like that! Why isn't that a hoot!! Most doctors can't dignose this as they have never seen it.

I've always said that if it is wild, unheard of, and can never happen to anyone, it WILL happen to me! Oh well at least I know what to call it now!

Congrats on getting your new kits :)

You can transition the little ones into the wet food slowly, I wouldn't mix the wet food into their dry food though. A couple of good links for kittens and their growing stages is:

On Feb. 14, 1912, Arizona became the 48th state of the Union as President William Howard Taft signed a proclamation.
On this date:
In 1778, the American ship Ranger carried the recently adopted Stars and Stripes to a foreign port for the first time as it arrived in France.
In 1859, Oregon was admitted to the Union as the 33rd state.
In 1862, Confederate President Jefferson Davis signed a proclamation making Arizona a Confederate territory.
In 1876, inventors Alexander Graham Bell and Elisha Gray applied separately for patents related to the telephone. (The U.S. Supreme Court eventually ruled Bell the rightful inventor.)
In 1895, Oscar Wilde's final play, "The Importance of Being Earnest," opened at the St. James's Theatre in London.
In 1903, the Department of Commerce and Labor was established. (It was divided into separate departments of Commerce and Labor in 1913.)
In 1920, the League of Women Voters was founded in Chicago; its first president was Maud Wood Park.
In 1929, the "St. Valentine's Day Massacre" took place in a Chicago garage as seven rivals of Al Capone's gang were gunned down.
In 1949, Israel's Knesset convened for the first time.
In 1962, first lady Jacqueline Kennedy conducted a televised tour of the White House in a videotaped special that was broadcast on CBS and NBC (and several nights later on ABC).
In 1979, Adolph Dubs, the U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan, was kidnapped in Kabul by Muslim extremists and killed in a shootout between his abductors and police.
In 1989, Iran's Ayatollah Khomeini called on Muslims to kill Salman Rushdie, author of "The Satanic Verses," a novel condemned as blasphemous.
Ten years ago: Launching his defense against war crimes charges, former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic (sloh-BOH'-dahn mee-LOH'-shuh-vich) justified his actions as a "struggle against terrorism" and said he was a victim of twisted facts and "terrible fabrication." Enron executive Sherron Watkins told a House subcommittee it was common knowledge at the company that partnerships were used improperly to hide debt and inflate profits.
Five years ago: Challenged on the accuracy of U.S. intelligence, President George W. Bush told a news conference there was no doubt the Iranian government was providing armor-piercing weapons to kill American soldiers in Iraq, and he said he would fight any attempt by the Democratic-controlled Congress to cut off money for the war. ConAgra recalled all Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter made at a Georgia plant because of a salmonella outbreak.
One year ago: President Barack Obama unveiled a $3.7 trillion budget plan that would freeze or reduce some safety-net programs for the nation's poor but turn aside Republican demands for more drastic cuts to shrink the government to where it was before he took office. Protesters took to the streets in Iran, Bahrain and Yemen, inspired by the popular uprising in Egypt that brought down President Hosni Mubarak. The TV game show "Jeopardy!" began airing the first of three episodes pitting human players Brad Rutter and Ken Jennings against an IBM computer named "Watson." (Watson ended up winning with a cumulative total of $77,147 versus $24,000 for Jennings and $21,600 for Rutter.)

Morning, Deb. Quiet is always OK here. I'm feeling pretty quiet too.

Mr. K & I are going to a show tonight that was written by one of the tennis players *sigh*. Maybe it won't be as bad as I expect.
