Sweet dreams Jcat, I'm climbing the stairs(wearily) to bed now too. I hope you get your proofreading finished.
Have a great Saturday everyone, it was an OK day and should still be even after our road testing it for you.

I don't know why, but for the past 2 nights he's been coming up on the couch with me rather than going over to Mr. K and last night he came up on the bed with me while Mr. K was asleep on the couch (we often end up sleeping in different spots since we can't agree on a reasonable sleeping temperature :) ). Normally Georgie wants to be wherever Mr. K is, so it's nice to have him decide to be with me :)

I sat back and watched Bond, James Bond while I digested dinner then I walked 5km to help make up for eating it. Mr MS has been in bed for hours and HRH is still out hunting.

It does smell nice, MS. I thought I had better use up all the lovely food I bought or was given before it dies and regenerates into some new life form in the back of the fridge, which is what usually happens to it. I think autumn is making me want to stock up the freezer as well.

Plus I got very little else done today so at least now I feel I've achieved something. But I haven't done the dishes yet... And I was going to get so many other things done today and I haven't :(

When I got my kittens they were both sneezy (my little girl Lucy was more so than her brother August). They also both had a tendency to get dry black boogers in their noses.

Through my research & asking questions on here and talking to my vet I learned that kittens are highly susceptible to a number of viruses that cause these symptoms(some from the herpes & chlamydia family- but not transferable to humans), and for the most part a healthy kitten will grow out of it. Their immune systems will knock the virus out. It takes a while though- it took several weeks before my little ones stopped sneezing entirely (although the frequency of the sneezing attacks steadily tapered off), and Lucy will still occasionally get boogers @ 8 months now.

As long as Dante's healthy - eating, drinking, playing, active - I don't think you need to worry too much about him. It sounds like his sneezing's pretty mild.

What you need to look out for with these viruses is secondary infections, goopy eyes, or any change in activity level or eating (according to my vet when a kitten gets a URI it's usually a secondary infection). My vet offered to put my kittens on preventative antibiotics to keep them from getting any secondary infections, but I declined because they were sturdy and healthy, and I didn't want to give them unnecessary meds. Lucy did get an eye infection at one point, but I caught it early & a little eye ointment cleared it right up.

So good luck! And congratulations on the new addition to the family. I'm glad the older siblings are getting along with him!

Prayers for you and Lillie. It is a routine surgery so not to worry. Do not be too surprised if she is low energy for several days, five days or more. I was surprised at how long it took Jasmine to recover her full energy after this; before, I'd only had two male cats fixed. It was a good five days or longer before she was jumping up on things as she normally would. A friend who is cat-savvy informed me that the operation for the males is a lot less invasive, so they tend to bounce back in 24 to 48 hours, if memory serves. Females, not necessarily so.
