Booger was the best. cat. ever. Born in my house (took in a pregnant stray), and had to be first, first, first in the litter. Learned to play with the dog early on. And he was as talkative as most Siamese I've ever met! He had a habit of needing to sleep near my face, as if he wanted me to breathe on him all night long. I'd roll over... he'd walk around and lie down by my face again. I'd roll back over... he'd repeat. Ad nauseum! He was a funny guy, one of a kind, and I miss him terribly. I lost him to complications from hyperthyroidism at only 13 years of age.

hahaha..I have never owned a cat that would walk on a leash..they would do their best "kitty roadkill" impersonation...flat on their belly, all 4 legs out to the side...it's a good thing I can't let them outside; can't even put a collar on the suckers!!!!!!
So I've posted the pics and videos; gave them their medical info, and told them I would revisit when they appear on Petfinder and give them that link as well..You've done such a good job with them; watching their videos I swear I can't tell that they're even mildly afflicted!! One day soon, I will get Mark to show me (yet again) how to work the video camera and take some footage of Buster..I think he's moderately afflicted..not terribly severe but nowhere near as coordinated as your little guys!
And Booger sounds like he was quite the character!!!

I forgot to mention that when I'd put him on a harness and leash, he'd pretty much just naturally walk along with me; no 'heel' command needed. A far cry from this:

My dear departed cat Booger was a terribly territorial, neurotic mama's boy. Therefore, any new cat coming into the household was a threat - and was treated accordingly. (He got his nose bent four different ways out of shape whenever that happened.)

OTOH, he was also the smartest cat I've ever owned. He was the one I would have liked to take onto Letterman. And if I'd used treats for training, not just affection, I'm positive he would have done everything the cat in the 'trained cat' videos did - and more. He did about a third of those tricks just based on affection training; sit, lie down, shake paws, jump. I would have taught him to 'bark,' but I could never get him to shut up long enough.

Booger looked an awful lot like this guy:

I know exactly what you mean; some pets have that instinct to "pick" on the weak or defenseless..(of course, my other 2 cats are scared to death of Buster, because they can't anticipate how he's gonna move!! lol)

Also wanted to clarify one thing: when I indicate no pets or children inclined to pick on them, it doesn't mean no other pets and/or no children in the household. It just means that if you have a pet that's highly territorial or has a strong prey drive, that Otto and Ellis might be in danger. Likewise, children are fine, even young children - as long as the adult is 100% sure that the children will not mistreat them. Otto and Ellis have fewer options than many kitties, when it comes to defending themselves against attack or mistreatment. They're not as strong, not as fast, and can't jump as high or climb as well, so their "flight" options in a "fight or flight" are limited.

Hi, Sullis! Well, I've submitted their listing to Petfinders under the pet classified section; I should hear back in 48 hours or less about the listing. Posted 3 Oct. 2008, location Missouri. Since they're in the pet classified section, there will be no photo that comes up on the screen, but in the description I've included links to their photos and play videos. Description reads as follows:

Otto and Ellis are two kittens, brothers, approx. 20 weeks old, rescued at 12 weeks of age from a parking lot for an auto repair shop. They appear to have a very mild case of cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). More information on this condition can be found at: http://www.messybeast.com/disabled.htm#CH

They've been neutered, had rabies and FVRCP shots, been wormed, and tested negative for FeLV, FIV, FIP (coronavirus), and toxoplasmosis. These kittens have a particularly mild case of CH; they still run, climb, jump, stalk, and leap, just like other kittens! They just don't jump high, and they sometimes land awkwardly when jumping down. They don't have any litter box issues, other than needing a slightly larger litter box than the smallest sizes (they tend to splay their hind legs a bit for stability, more so than some cats). They clean themselves just fine, and Otto kneads just like any happy cat - with purring and enthusiasm! Photos and videos at:

Otto:
http://www.tiny.cc/dWpvX

Ellis:
http://tiny.cc/te2NJ

Video clips of them playing together:
http://tiny.cc/1edbI
http://tiny.cc/lhbRR

Anything taller than the seat of a chair is beyond their jumping abilities. Both of them love being petted, and rubbed under the chin and along the jawline, especially when sitting in a warm lap. Their favorite toy is a crumpled up ball of paper, which they'll bat and chase! They're both regular little purr generators.

They are currently living at home. It would be ideal to place them together, but if they must be separated to find their loving, forever homes, that would be better than never finding someone to call their very own. An ideal home would not have pets or children inclined to pick on them, and would keep them indoors for their own safety. They also should not be declawed, as that would hamper their ability to get around.

Otto and Ellis are in Kansas City, Missouri, but options exist for travel arrangements to their new home/s. An adoption contract and fee for adoption will be needed; please email for more information.
