When my best friend's mom was diagnosed with extreme cirossis of the liver she was told that if she lived perfectly by the book she would have 2 years to live. She was having paracentisis every 10-12 days. She said the heck with that! She started taking milk thistle caplets. Milk Thistle strengthens liver functions and she started having acupuncture. She went to having paracentisis every several months and got over 4 years of good quality of life. Her liver damage was a direct result of having lived a life on various medications plus all the meds she had to take after quad bypass surgery. The prescription meds after so many years damaged her liver. I just got home from the hospital. The cardiologist wouldn't do the cath with all of the fluid there, so he has to spend the night and have a paracentisis tonight and hopefully the cath tomorrow. His spirits are pretty good, all things considered. He is so worried about the wedding, but I keep telling him not to be. One way or another, we will be married.
