What nephews!"</p> <p>Both cats laugh happily.</p> <p>"And," Rotley says, "Windi and Willow came back and we all played with the pinatas!"</p> <p>"Lovely -- so lovely!" and both lads begin to purr themselves to sleep.</p> <p>"Bye-bye, boys," calls their mama. She is on her way out the door this gentle Christmas morning. "I'll be back before nightfall. She packs a basket of homemade waffles with real maple syrup, hot chocolate, Mexican wedding cookies (very traditional at Christmas)and some Texas Trash for the kits to nibble on. The music of "Jingle Bells" is heard through the cold, crisp air and the bells on the ponies' harnesses ring clearly over the white and quiet fields.</p> <p>Emma has a wonderful midnight brunch prepared for the parents, who are either going to take their furry babies home with them in a while or who will get them into their jammies for the sleepover. </p> <p>Rotley and Ruggles call Windi and Willow for a last good night on their cell phones, and Emma sends them her love and kisses, too.</p> <p>Wishes and Thor bid their friends good-night and walk next door to their meowmy's house, talking excitedly about the sleigh ride and the skating on the Winter Pond. </p> <p>Ruggles helps MaxMax and Andy into their jammies and tucks them into the sleeping bags near the fireplace in the family room. And Maxie talks about his lovely Athena, and the laughter and singing gradually quiet down.</p> <p>Rotley turns down the fire down and tells the parents how happy they all are that so mant kits showed up for the fun!</p> <p>In an hour, only gentle breathing and soft purrs can be heard in the family room, and Emma loads the dishwasher for morning.
