She took the appt better than I did; I was a nervous wreck! But she is fine and she weighs 5.25lbs, which they said was fine for her age, she's 4.5 months old!! She has an appt to be spayed on Friday...I'm dreading what I will do all day without my little girl! </p> <p>She's adjusted to be back at home, eating greenies and running around. Since this is your first appointment at this vet's office, I would expect the vet would ask some basic questions about what you are feeding Pumpkin, her level of activity and give her a routine exam which would probably include taking her temperature, checking her teeth, listening to her heart, checking her ears and eyes and checking out her skin for any sign of fleas or infection. </p> <p>The vet should ask you if you have any questions about how to care for Pumpkin. You might want to write a few questions down so you don't forget them. You might ask the vet about the food you are feeding Pumpkin--does it meet her nutritional needs for her age? When should you switch to an adult formula? What precautions should you take if you decide to allow Pumpkin to be an inside/outside kitty? What shots does she need now that she's had her first set of shots?</p> <p>There are probably websites that suggest a list of questions for people who are taking kittens in for a routine exam and/or spay. When we got Digit and Furl spayed, we did not bring home any additional pain meds. They bounced back from the anesthesia in less than a day and did not appear to be in any discomfort. They didn't bother at their stitches so we didn't need an e-collar. Others may have had a different experience.</p> <p>I hope this helps.
