A this was a survivor with a death sentence. In April, she will have been cancer free for 5 years. She went through chemo, radiation, and surgery. She lost her hair and everything.<br /> By the way, this co-worker is almost a TDKer. She visits and looks at the kitten every day, but doesn't comment or come to the chat forum. Although treatment has come a long ways, much depends on the stage of the disease when the diagnosis is made. One of the best things for your employee is to develop a relationship with a breast cancer survivor. The American Cancer Society in your area should have a Reach to Recovery program. She was told more than once she had less than 6 months. You are right--they have come a long way. A positive attitude--although difficult to come by--really can make all the difference. She's got invasive breast cancer. I reassured her that medical science has come a long, long way in treatment. She's quite understandably scared though.<br /> She will be fine. But she needs the strenghth to believe it. </p>
