Can you lift the bed while Cato's in it? When Charlie's in a bed (they're round and flexible) I pick him up like a burrito and move him.
If that's not possible, then I'd try shoving some food in front of him and get his attention away from the cozy bed.

Elizabeth...if dear Cato loves the bed this much....maybe the next time he rises to see to other business you should just relocate it outside on the porch for him. At least then you won't have to worry about getting him out when you're leaving for work. Silly Cato!!! You could also lure him with his favorite treats!! =)

It's Cato that won't get out of bed, which is a new thing for him. Usually he is up and out the door in the morning, but now he's sleeping. :) Elizabeth

Is it Cato or the kitty you can't keep who won't get out of the bed? Either one, he's likely to get up when he gets hungry or needs to use the litter box. It might just be the newness and the blankie that are appealing right now.

I bought a new cat bed for the kitty I won't be able to adopt (long story) and showed it to Cato, who was completely indifferent preferring to sleep in his bed outside on the porch. So I put his wool blanket on, the one he sucked on when he was a kitten. Suddenly, he is in the bed and won't get out of it. He wouldn't leave the house this morning. I am sure he is sleeping in the bed as I write this. How do I get him out of it and out of the house in the morning when I go to work, diplomatically that is? He bites and scratches if one is too "agressive" with him :) Elizabeth
