Changing a kitten's food can cause the problems you describe. So can parasites. If they haven't seen the vet yet, now is a good time. Kittens can get dehydrated quickly, and that leads to many other problems.

Make sure the babies are getting lots of fluids, and call the vet in the morning.

I have two 4.5wk old rescue kittens. I have had them for about a week (they have never had mothers milk/mom died after giving birth). When I got them they were already starting to eat wet food, and still occasionally take the bottle. I continued to feed them wet food for a few days, but now mix dry kitten food with KMR, and am still giving them the bottle at times. I also leave out a more watered down mix of KMR in a dish. Over the past day or so, they have both begun to get diarrhea. They are acting totally fine, still playing as much as they did, and eating well. Could it be the dry food? Should I just go back to the kitten wet food? Also, when should I completely stop using the bottle. When it is feeding time, they will eat some of the dry KMR mix, but they come to me and meow until I give them a bottle. When should I take them to the vet?

Also any advice on weaning, feeding schedules for this age would be wonderful! Thanks.
