Well, I can see where everyone's priorties are. Much prefer to discuss steaks and how to cook them versus receiving an answer on how to clean out a litter box. Oh well, guess I didn't pick the right day to ask. Have fun with your steaks.

We have Outback but we rarely go there. Frankly, I can do steak or fish better at home. And there's always a humongous wait!

Oh yes, MC - we have all the best restaurants here in Midland. Why, we even have a Cracker Barrel! (hate that place)

MC, Prime Rib is done like a roast in the oven and Ribeyes are grilled. Any good restaurant should be able to serve either the way you want it though. Personally, I go for medium rare, but everyone has their own taste in these matters.

I made awesome ribeyes on Saturday, HM. I made a marinade of red wine, worschestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic and a bit of brown sugar. I only let them marinate for an hour. Dried them off, salt and peppered and they were good to go! They got a nice crust on them at the grill marks and were melt in your mouth tender!

OK, now you're making me hungry--and a definate THUMBS UP for the medium rare! Filet Mignon is great, but I also like a really good Ribeye--the best steak I think. However, the salmon burger did sound very good. Or salmon cake, if you prefer.

Not at all, FH. A ribeye is wonderful well done because of all the marbling, which creates flavor. This is the only steak I will eat because well done-ing most any other steak is a mistake unless you have somebody in the kitchen who really knows what they're doing (cue: The Fink). He makes a wonderful well done NY Strip.

I refuse to consume anything remotely bloody, unless it's a bloody mary of course.

Our HEB here had fresh shrimp patties in the seafood department (don't gag, HM). They were shaped like hamburger patties and were meant to be grilled and then put whatever you wanted on them. Well, we like shrimp a lot but there are no words to describe how incredibly nasty they tasted. I took one bite and the rest went in the trash. The texture was just yucky!

But actually, the salmon burgers sounded good to me, except I would use fresh salmon, I think.
