(((feral))) God bless you for your kindness. Other than my ongoing prayesr to St Francis, I have not followed all the details. Too bad there is no local shelter to lend out a trap . I agree with GD, if this trap caught your stubborn boy ,feral, hopefully it will do the trick here also.

Sorry everyone... I've been communicating with Feral via email. She is sending me the trap she used to catch Hopper. Discussing the best way to send it etc. I have also bought a harness and leash for Truman. I'm walking him around to see if Hoover will come out of his hiding place. The people down the road said they will help any way they can. I think when I get the trap, I will bring it to them and instruct them to take up any food after feeding their own cats. That way, if Hoover is hungry, the only food available to him will be inside the trap. Of course, there is always the chance of catching one of their own cats too. If he realizes there is no other food available, maybe he will make his way back here. I still have the trap set up here just in case. It has not been touched since the racoon came.

Jadete... when they were sent to me,they were fully erected. I don't think they can be collapsed. They've been stored under the picnic table out back for the last month,but, I plan to pull them out tonight when it cools some. It's 108 in the shade right now & safe to presume it's beyond 110 in the sun which is still beating down on the gazebo under which the traps are. They are in their original boxes,but, I will still have to make a cardboard sleeve for the one I'm sending. I just can't afford to have it done. I came home from town after picking up a chicken. And I now have 11 cents to my name (excluding the $ I have to pay for the car to be repaired.
With the heat we're having,everything seems like it's moving slow motion & I'm so miserable trying to get my things out of here w/Mr. Useless hanging around here. I'm rubbing & squeezing my TDK stone as much as possible in hopes I can get things moving faster than I am. Just want you to know...I still plan to get it to you...I'm a person of my word. :)

I haven't seen him in a few days now. It is a bit cooler here (80's)than it was last week(90's) and less humid, but I still worry about him. I put out water and food for him every day and night but it hasn't been touched since the racoon came. I only hope if he has taken up residence at the house down the road, that they will be able to get close enough to him to grab him. Feral- can the trap somehow be collapsed? It might be easier to mail that way. Still costs the same, but just easier to handle if you know what I mean. Just a thought.

Checking to see if Hoover is cooperating yet.

Jadete...we're being ravaged w/heat here. It was 110 on the front porch yesterday. They are expecting the same today. I don't understand how the ferals can handle it,but, they seem to survive it.
I will try to box up the trap & find out what it will cost to ship it. Those traps aren't light in weight,so I may gasp at the price & have to boorow from someone to send it.
I'm also trying to set up an appt. to have my car fixed. As I said before tho, I will let you know what I find out.
Prayers continuing that Hoover stops his galaventing(sp?) & get his furry butt home.

Feral - I will reimburse any shipping charges! Promise!! When someone else needs it, I will do the same. Kind of like Daisy Mews stones, yes? Oh, and I just talked with the lady down the road. She stopped by and asked if I was the one looking for the siamese. I said yes, have you seen him? She said yes and she will look more closely from now on. I told her how skittish he is and how if she can get close enough, he does like to be petted but not picked up. He also likes cheese, so if she could entice him to get close enough... Then I asked if she had a trap and she said no, but her father does. She said don't worry we'll get your cat!! I am off to the store now, the babies need litter!

Jadete...your getting closer to success. Your doing all the right things (including BF letting mama racoon go). Are you sure tho that Hoover isn't staying clear of your yard because of mama racoon? If she is under your house w/her brood of babies, she is a danger to people & cats or dogs. They've been known to kill family pets in the name of protecting theor babies. It's one of the main reasons I pick up all food dishes for the outdoor ferals before it gets dark here. If it's not here for them to eat...they go elsewhere.
I agree w/Jcat. If your neighbor will allow you,set up a trap in their yard where you've seen Hoover.
I have a spare Humane trap that was sent to me By a Loving TDK member. It helped me in finally trapping Hopper(a horny old goat) & Hissy (a stubborn Snowshoe Siamese). The kitten mill was finally stopped here because of them.

I would like to send it to you hoping it's luck will help to catch Hoover. I 1st need to find or make a box big enuf to send it. My only problem will be not having the finances to ship it to you,being that every cent I've got is going towards getting my car fixed.

Jadete, have you checked to see whether your neighbour is also putting up a trap where Hoover's going for food? Maybe you could ask him to put one of your old workshirts or one of Truman's blankets in there too, with one of those sausages Hoover likes so much. I'm so sorry you haven't caught him yet, I check every day to see if he's home yet, that naughty little runaway! {{{Jadete}}}

Yesterday, with the racoon, I called my boyfriend and he came over. He saw it was a Momma racoon with swollen tits so he let it go instead of relocating it. Okay, I understand that, but then I would just recatch her, wouldn't I? I washed out the cage and put in fresh food and water. Oh yes, and I used a thin layer of newspaper to cover up the trip plate. I figured if he cant see it, he wouldn't just step over it. I also covered it with a couple of my work shirts. (Smells like my sweat) Anyway, the trap was empty this morning so I guess Momma racoon learned to stay away.
