&#60;p&#62;They want to prove the existence of &#34;dark matter&#34; and need to work far underground to be shielded from cosmic rays that can interfere with detection of hypothesized dark matter particles.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Now I just have to wonder, what better place to study dark matter than down deep in a dark hole in the ground?  :-)
