I slept through it. My first inkling was in recovery when they were repeating the time as I woke up and telling me why it was so late. With all the good drugs, all I could muster was a calm "that's cool, sorry I missed it." (Pre-op I had discussed the possibility of having a spinal and watching. Considering the vascularity of the evil twin, it was kind of like carrying a spare spleen in my belly. Dr and I agreed it was good that we did get it out because a blow could have ruptured it and then I would have had a bleed under uncontrolled conditions. I also lucked out in that there was a vascular surgeon on hand who stepped in delaying a procedure he was in scrub to preform when they found themselves in a special effects TV Dr Series with me as the guest performer. They liked me so much as I have a high platelet count. The "mass" was highly vascularized and called for 8 units during the surgery. The path reports were what I expected...normal, normal,normal....non-cancerous but bloody big.</p> <p>I did not get excited about it. I slept through the whole process.</p> <p>I plan to spend the rest of today sleeping the adventure of hospital discharge, ride home with stop for scripts off.</p> <p>Thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers.</p> <p>My Dr has offically labled me "A tough old bird". While I am unable to donate because of the list of auto-immunes in my profile, if you are willing and able I would appreciate blood donations be made to offset my unexpected use. </p>
