She did not use cabbage, though. She used all different colors of peppers and onions. She spent days canning it each year and we always ate it with our arroz con pollo. I do this with mushrooms and it works very well, but I've never tried onions......Best sandwich ever is pita bread spread with cream cheese, then add sharp cheddar, sprouts and dill pickles.
