I was lying on the couch with my boyfriend where our feet were in the middle and our heads on either end, and suddenly a little black head pokes up over the back of the couch and then disappears. It wasn't there for more than a second or a second and a half. We both just looked at each other and blinked. My dog at the time was outside in the yard, and was brown. However, we used to own a black dog who'd been dead probably 6 or 7 years at this point. The vet asked me what I was looking down at and told him it was just a friend concerned about his buddy Max. We would often see his shadow in the windows, but when we would move the curtains, there was nothing there. I also saw him close up -- he looked just like my grandmother's cat, who was still alive at the time.
