I'm sure he'll grow out of it. It's just fascinating to him now, but he'll find plenty of other fun things to play with and forget all about eyelashes!

Thanks Greatdane. I was wondering if this was something Waffles would grow out of or if it is something that if I don't correct now, He will do as an adult cat.

Hi Nikki! I had a cat who used to do that, too. She'd sleep with me at night and be absolutely fascinated when I'd blink my eyes. Then I'd close them to avoid blinking and getting poked by kitty paws. She'd then wonder where my eyes went or something and continue poking.
She grew out of it after a month or so - I hope Waffles will, too!

I am absolutely in LOVE with my new 9 week old kitten Waffles. He's very playful but most of the time well behaved. However, he enjoy crawling up to your face, licking it, putting his paw on your cheek then, out if no where, attempting to scratch your eyes! I think the eyelashes attract him. We've learned so far to cover our eyes when he comes up to us or gently push him away but he is relentless! He has even reached under my glasses on a few occasions. What can I do to correct this behavior so that I can still cuddle with my kitten without the fear of getting my eyes scratched out? Interesting fact, he doesn't do this to the other cat or dog.
