They are both 24 now. This requires a little background so please excuse the length.</p> <p>They went to school together from elementary to jr high, when we moved. This kid and his sister, who was friends with my daughter, were almost permanent fixtures at my house. Mom and dad were busted for manufacturing and distributing Meth, as well as child endangerment. Kids go to live with grandparents. Kid takes the GED test when he is 16 and drops out of school.</p> <p>Fast forward to present day. This young man who is a network administrator for some large company in CA, calls to "you are the reason I am where I am today. Because of you I never gave up on myself and decided to be a better person."</p> <p>It brings me to tears. What do you say to that? I don't think I did anything special. I'm in awe that he picked me. </p>
