All cats hiss from time to time, and there's always a reason. But that is no reason to imprison the poor kitty. Be gentle, talk low and loving to him, and stoke him on his head and scratch under his chin and behind his ears and he will soon love you back, and any aggression will die down. Is he neutered? If not, that could be part of any aggressive tendencies he may show. Put yourself in place of the cat. He is a baby, taken from his mother, has no idea who you are, and then you put him in a cage. Of course he will hiss--HE IS TERRIFIED! A cage will NEVER tame him.
